"We spotted this place on our way back to hotel, it’s a small restaurant managed by couple of people so you can’t expect much in terms of service and attention. We ate there around their closure time so many appetizer items were not available. We ordered Biryani which looked like a thali dish with an egg (see picture), I wondered why they’re calling this dish a Biryani. Some of the items on the so called thali Biryani was quite delicious with adequate spices and decent flavors. Prices were quite reasonable."

"Came to this restaurant based on the many excellent reviews and the ‘buzz’ it has generated culminating in a ‘Bib Gourmand’ mention in the Guide Michelin (note this is not a ‘Star’ but sort of an honorable mention). The experience was nice but did not blow us away. We had the Omakase Menu. Some of the courses were really very nice, others so so at best. I was particularly disappointed by the Fish and the Meat (we did NOT have the Wagyu option). Brussel Sprouts and Tempura as well as the soup were very nice. Quantity of the Omakase Menu was almost too much for us from this point of view would say that it is not overly expensive for Zurich. Service was sub par, took at least 15 20mins from being seated to being asked for drinks, also during the course of the evening, service was unattentive despite staff constantly passing our table. Additionally, noone seemed to bother too much that we returned a significant part of 2 dishes for the reasons mentioned above. Would probably give it another shot and try some à la carte dishes."

"Food is ok and the final bill would’t have been high if it wasn’t that they charged an extra 15 CHF because they decided to put in the order a cordon bleu made with veal instead of pork, which I’ve never asked for it since it wasn’t even on the menù. In general the service is poor, it feels like they don’t want you there. I don’t recommend it, there are tons of others better restaurants you can choose."

"I wish I could give a better note to the restaurant, after all the service and the place itself is very nice, including the very entertaining opera singing, but let's be honest: this is a restaurant, and the food was simply sub par. The soup noodle starter was very bland, lacking flavours and complexity. The vegetable pancake was nice, but nothing to rave about: a simple kind of fritada with spring onions and a sauce to dip in...simple in taste as in existence. The rice cake with the spicy sauce was very good. Not only was the chewyness of the rice on point, but also the balance of the sauce was spot on. Next, the fried chicken was also good, moist, and crunchy with a nice sweet and salty sauce. As a main, I had the beef, which also came with rice, kimichy, and pickled vegetables. This was a big disappointment: although the beef was tender, it lacked complexity, refinement and flavours. It was like drinking decaff coffee...decent, but absolutely forgettable. The dessert, a vanilla ice cream was also not very good, and most probably not homemade, tasting like some big low brands with lots of fake vanilla flavours. All that, unfortunately, came at a very high price when included tips and drinks. While prices for food in Switzerland are generally insanely high compared to other countries, what we paid here was beyond the acceptable norm given the level of the food."

"We stopped in for dinner while in Zurich and wrapping up our 8-day trip through Switzerland. We didn 't have reservations and when we arrived there was a line out the door; however, because there were only two of us, we were sat immediately at a communal table with about 9-10 others. The communal table provided us with the opportunity to have a great conversation and banter with 3 Ozzies, a young couple from the Chicago burbs, and about four older Swiss German ? travelers. I ordered the sausage sampler with potato salad and it was very tasty; the slight tang of the creamy potato salad helped to counter the richness and flavorful sausages. I also ordered the 'Beer Flambee with Fire Water ' which is basically a large martini glass into which they pour whiskey, light it on fire, and extinguish it with the house lager. It sounds and looks amazing, but in the end just tasted like a fresh beer and wasn 't much larger than a regular size order. There were little barley bits floating around in the beer which were a little annoying to drink around and I don 't believe added anything to the flavor. Our Australian tablemates ordered the 'Mayor 's Sword ' for 4 people and it truly was a sight to see; a full-sized sword wrapped in grilled meat came to the table. In essence the sword served as a large kabob blade for grilling the meat. Overall, the restaurant has a very entertaining atmosphere and playful theatrics. I 'd go back as the food was tasty and recommend others check it out; it 's a great time!"

"This review is in regards to their delivery service: As it was recommended by a colleague, and their homepage says that they offer delivery, we thought it would be a great opportunity to place an order for a client lunch at our office. After some emails back and forth, they confirmed the order and delivery for today. Unfortunately, they never showed up and when we called to ask, no one knew anything about it, even though we have a confirmation by email. If you can't guarantee a delivery, then don't offer it! We ended up having to scramble to get a replacement last minute, not to mention, it was super embarrassing for us in front of the client. Will never order from here again. Terrible service!"

"Einer Einladung folgend nahm ich einen Mittagessen im mir bis dahin unbekannten Restaurant Leafs ein. Zunächst war ich sehr positiv über die schöne Sitzgelegenheit im Garten überrascht. Als ich die Karte angeschaut habe, erschienen mir die Preise für eine Mittagskarte doch ein wenig hoch. Allerdings war das Menü schön zusammengestellt und abwechslungsreich. Unsere Vorspeisensalate waren in Ordnung. Die vegetarischen Hauptgerichte waren sehr gut gekocht und von der Grösse her erfreulich. Auch die Fleischgerichte waren gross genug, um den Rest des Tages problemlos zu überstehen. Entsprechend musste ich meine Meinung revidieren und die Preise als fair betrachten.Weiter lobenswert war der freundliche und effiziente Service.Es wäre einzig schön, wenn es im Garten einen Nichtraucherbereich gäbe. Am Tisch direkt neben uns hat, kurz nachdem wir das Essen erhalten haben, ein Herr eine dicke Zigarre geraucht. Das ist selbstverständlich nicht der Fehler des Lokals, aber es wäre begrüssenswert, wenn der schöne Hof einen Nichtraucherbereich aufwiese, um solche Situationen zu vermeiden.Insgesamt jedoch war ich sehr zufrieden und werde sehr gerne wieder kommen."

"I went to eat here with my Afghan friend. We weren 't expecting such a busy restaurant, but we immediately noticed the beautiful decoration... we were lucky and were able to eat at one of about 5 carpet seat tables , i.e. traditionally sitting cross-legged on comfortable oriental cushions. I was actually expecting more Afghan staff like at the food festival, the ladies who served us weren 't really passionate about it, a waitress just came to our table and stared at us until we said something, EFZ won the lottery?, we greeted you the guests right?!….The food was good, but I have eaten better in some Afghan households. I think the prices are reasonable for Zurich, but I can 't recommend it to families with children... The desert menu is a bit poor and for me Afghan food doesn 't include alcohol! The corridor to the toilet is beautifully designed with pictures of early Afghanistan, the ceiling by the toilet is also beautiful with the lamps, but there shouldn 't be any of these socially critical comics on the doors...Despite the few points, I 'll definitely come back to eat there with my friend , it was very nostalgic for him!"
