"I wish I could give a better note to the restaurant, after all the service and the place itself is very nice, including the very entertaining opera singing, but let's be honest: this is a restaurant, and the food was simply sub par. The soup noodle starter was very bland, lacking flavours and complexity. The vegetable pancake was nice, but nothing to rave about: a simple kind of fritada with spring onions and a sauce to dip in...simple in taste as in existence. The rice cake with the spicy sauce was very good. Not only was the chewyness of the rice on point, but also the balance of the sauce was spot on. Next, the fried chicken was also good, moist, and crunchy with a nice sweet and salty sauce. As a main, I had the beef, which also came with rice, kimichy, and pickled vegetables. This was a big disappointment: although the beef was tender, it lacked complexity, refinement and flavours. It was like drinking decaff coffee...decent, but absolutely forgettable. The dessert, a vanilla ice cream was also not very good, and most probably not homemade, tasting like some big low brands with lots of fake vanilla flavours. All that, unfortunately, came at a very high price when included tips and drinks. While prices for food in Switzerland are generally insanely high compared to other countries, what we paid here was beyond the acceptable norm given the level of the food."

Delicious food, a friendly service and authentic Korean songs performed by a professional opera singer. Akaraka is an unique experience which we can recommend to everybody interested in Asian culture and lifestyle. View menu

This is not a place where you can have a light meal for 20 to 30 francs if you crave Korean food while traveling. They sell course meals for between 60 and 70 francs. A place where you have to be quiet rather than a place where you can eat comfortably?

We have dined NYE 2022 and sung by the owner who is an inconceivable opera maestro. We had the tasting menu and the food was solid. We were entertained between meals and this made it an unforgettable experience. Unexpected is this a unique experience in Zurich!

Excellent food on three menus meat, fish, vegetarian. Friendly and professional staff. Very good service with right pace and flexibility (eg asked for some extra dishes on top of the menu and was always possible at very reasonable price). Good wine card bottles and by glass. Last, bonus: one of the waiters/owners is also an excellent opera singer and has sung a few minutes. Very amusing. Will be back View menu

I just wanted to leave my experience here; Out Group mistakenly thought that this was a typical restaurant that ordered individual items from the menu, but despite this, the experience was unexpectedly quite amazing. And even after I found out that the restaurant was really authentic and served by high quality, I was once again surprised by the singing and the dessert that came after it. So... it was a good experience! I'd do that to other people.

If you want to eat delicious and filling food in Switzerland, you can go to Akaraka. It was so delicious and clean that it was hard to believe that it was Korean food in a foreign country. I was impressed that I was able to have a great meal thanks to the friendly clerk and nice owner. Even if you feel that the price of the weekend dinner course meal is burdensome, definitely Give it a try. After eating ice cream and coffee, you will nod your head at the price.

Zurich, a vibrant Swiss city, blends medieval charm with modern flair. Typical cuisine includes Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, a creamy veal dish, often served with Rösti.

"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family run cafe-restaurant that serves excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the norm in Zurich.Famiglia Tremonte is rather inconspicuously located at the corner of Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a couple of doors away from The Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You might need to look for it a little: I lived practically next door and did not notice it for almost a year, and even then a friend had to point it out to me.The restaurant is mostly a takeout with very little seating, i.e. 7 people inside, and when the weather is goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is basic but, like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is awesome! Authentic Italian fare that is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition since that is where the family is from. I used to visit almost every day because the food tastes great and the prices are so low for Zurich. I have tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettine, stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, piadina, and of course, the fabulously tasty and hot chilli infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I strongly recommend the super-hot chilli infused EVOO as a seasoning for almost all dishes, but especially the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with chilli EVOO: 0.5 tbsp. for noobs, and a max. of 2 tbsp. for those who like it hot. The chilli EVOO, when used appropriately, adds great flavour to your dish. The piadina is the best I have eaten - period. I have been all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York (: great place for Italian food lovers :), and I still think this is the best piadina ever. They also serve some nice Italian desserts -- I've tried a few but have forgotten the names. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the pesto and was happy with it. You also get a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food.Prices are relatively low by Zurich standards: I rarely ever ate for more than CHF 15, and if I skipped the drinks it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit according to what you order.Highly recommended. Glad I found this place. Great for office workers in the vicinity."
