"We booked a KGB Deal at the Kimberley Hotel (the room was fantastic by the way and decided to give the Bistro a try as we didn't arrived at the hotel until late afternoon and the deal came with a free bottle of wine if we ate there. We booked for 19.30 and arrived on time. We ordered a glass of beer/lager each while we were chosing, it took over 20mins to arrive. The bottle of wine we wanted was no longer in stock but were offered what was left in an opened bottle (thanks, but no thanks! . The starters finally arrived and were really good. For mains, I ordered fish and chips, expecting something special the batter was pale and unappetizing, the chips looked crisp but oozed clear fat when you touched them with a knife. My husband said the same about his chips and also left them on his plate. We asked for the sweet menu, twice. We didn't bother with coffee, it was then 22.00. Two and a half hours! We didn't have time for a walk into Harrogate as we'd planned. The staff were nice enough but seemed to lack training and leadership."
