"Unfortunately the experience at gourmet 4 wasn’t the best it could be. We walked in and we’re greeted by a female member of staff who was pleasant enough and asked if we wanted to use the app or a menu. From that point onwards a male member of staff waited on us and seemed to be rather distant and lacking in attention. When delivering food the member of staff would walk up to our circular booth then just place any item on the table. it’s rather strange to me that a waiter wouldn’t state the item, in order to enquire who had ordered that particular item. Then place the item near them. The same member of staff also would lean over the booth and members of our group rather than walking to where the person who’d ordered the food was seated (after he’d been told rather than asking who the item was for). We then ordered a desert and some drinks which took 20 minutes to arrive for some inexplicable reason (there was only our group of 4 and a table to 2 in the restaurant at the time). When the desert arrived it wasn’t even the correct desert which when questioned was greeted with a rather annoyed look by our less than helpful waiter. The food was decent size, tasted pretty good and good value. It would perhaps be an idea however to get some staff training, or at the least managerial oversight as I doubt the service would be up to standard."

"I ordered food for the children which came with drink and sauce of your choice. When food arrived there were no sauce no drinks. I rang up to tell them the guy on the phone didn't speak English very well so put some one else who works there on the phone. I explain drinks and Sauce were missing and he basically called me a liar saying he put them in his self and no way were they missing. I explained I wouldn't lie about a few drinks and I was only calling as the children were upset about not having the drinks. He just passed me straight back to the first guy who wasn't good with his English. They didn't turn back up with the missing items. Dmfood is over priced and customer service is shocking. I will not be ordering from there again!!!"

"Arrived to one other customer in the shop (Sunday night, 7pm) and three staff behind the counter, totally ignored for a good five minutes like they were rushed off their feet. Eventually served by a very young lad whilst the manager just watched. Spent £25.00 on food, then remembered I forgot to order chips and curry sauce for my son. Ordered and went to pay the £4.20 served by the manager (so it said on the back of her tee shirt) and asked for an extra 50p to cover card charges as my order was below £5.00. Explained I’d just paid £25 for food and she shrugged, said sorry and walked away. What great customer services from a Manager, then topped off with mediocre cold food !!!"

"The restaurant was closed despite having made a reservation through OpenTable, which was confirmed. We arrived only to find the doors locked, so we had to call them. When I first spoke to the man who answered, he didn't even realize they were closed. The place seemed entirely abandoned, so we decided to go elsewhere. I understand that they may have had their reasons for being closed, but they really need to cancel reservations or at least inform their customers!"

"Placed a call and collect order of one beef burger meal and one veggie burger meal. My partner asked for salad but no cheese on his, and I requested just salad, no sauce or cheese. The ‘salad’ in each burger consisted of three bits of limp, old lettuce with some cooked onions sprinkled on mine for some reason. They also added cheese onto my partners burger, which is not ideal considering he is lactose intolerant and the request was not just a matter of taste. The chips where also disappointing so we ended up throwing most of the meal away. All in all a miserable take away that was certainly not worth the money. I’d advise low quality expectations if ordering here, we certainly won’t be going back!"

"Upon entering, we informed the staff that we had a reservation, but they appeared disinterested and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant felt unwelcoming. I also noticed that there were packs of canned drinks stacked to one side, as if they hadn't made any effort to tidy up. "Their burgers are excellent, possibly the best in Brighton, but whilst they use Just Eats for their delivery partners the service is appalling. I ordered delivery Smashburgers many times when they were delivered by Deliveroo and never had a problem. On two of the four or five occasions I have ordered delivery burgers since they switched to Just Eats they have delivered the wrong order. Last night was exceptionally bad. When I realised we had been given the wrong delivery I called Smashburger and they confirmed the rider had picked up the wrong bag but assured me my order would be delivered shortly. Twenty minutes later I called again and Conor told me that I would not be getting my order as Just Eats had refused to deliver it. Thanks for the warning Conor. Lucky I called as I could have been waiting longer. Conor told me that I should use the Just Eats app to ask for a refund, which I have. I think in the circumstances Conor and his team should hastily find another way of delivering their food, maybe a taxi at their expense?.. rather than leaving their customers hanging. I shall endeavour to contact the management of Smashburger in the week for a constructive chat. Whilst they continue to use Just Eats as their delivery partner I will be a very reluctant customer."

"I and my friend wanted to get a couple of burgers and were on the way. when our order came, my friend overlaid the stop by 2 feet and we couldn't get our order from. this distance communicating, so I came out. a young man came out to scream and explain to us that they can't command if I'm not in the car. I can't do anything about it. I can't see a reason why you couldn't just act in a simple situation like this man. it is not as if we have walked too foot there and then our lives have risked our goal-oriented. it is a slow moving line of cars, not a double runway. burger king, has lost a loyal customer!"

"So last night we ordered from Milano pizza on Ormskirk road. Ordered food at 7.15, told it would be no later than 50 minutes. Called back at 8.20 and they said it would be 10 minutes and that they were busy. We were promised two free cans of Pepsi for the delay. Food arrived cold at 8.55, they sent one can of Pepsi not two and they had the nerve to charge us for the Pepsi they'd said would be free! Upon closer inspection half of the order was missing, chips were cold and soggy, the chicken tandoori kebab was burnt and had brown wilted lettuce on it and the garlic bread was freezing. When we rang to complain the person answering the phone had the nerve to say our order hadn't even been delivered yet! They sent us more chips the missing food, and when Matt gave the cold food back to their delivery driver the bloke threw it all over the road in front of our house, and the receipt from our order was with the rubbish so they can't even deny that they did it! Won't ever be ordering from them again"
