"What a horrible experience we had since our last visit in 2021. We have been regular customers for years, and we were really looking forward to come back after since the pandemic. First, service was the worst. We were rushed and not attended enough throughout the evening. We try to order something, and midway through the order, the waitress decides to just leave the table leaving us with outstanding requests. This kept happening during the whole dinner. Second, the tagliolini with truffle were so tasteless and bland, I had to keep adding salt, pepper, chilli olive oil just to get some taste out of it so I can finish my plate. And I am usually not a fussy eater. The pasta itself was undercooked and very doughy/chewy, too. We ordered extra pepperoni on our pizza, and in our opinion, there was no visible difference to the amount of salami put on it. What came out to us is what it would normally would've come out with. Thirdly, I ordered a tiramisu which I was really looking forward to, given all the experinece so far, that this will wash all the bad away. How wrong was I... The tiramisu was nothing short of a small whiskey size glass stuffed with layer of lady fingers and a layer of mascarpone with just a shy amount of sprinkled cocoa on top. Upon looking closely at the so-called tiramisu dessert, I noticed that the lady fingers were so dry and not soaked in coffee at all. I decided that I won't be having this and wished to return it. When we received the bill and after we paid for everything we had but the tiramisu, we were asked by our waiter how our food was. So we though, oh, someone actually cares and wants to know, how nice. Little did we know that no one actually cared, and the only reason we were asked this was so that we can be told by the Manager how wrong we are, how we have no right to complain about the food or the service, how as a goodwill gesture we weren't charged 2 pounds for the extra pepperoni (which on the contrary was on the bill, and we paid for with no objections), how the Manager is sick of customers telling them how Italian food should or should not be, how we have no right to object or say anything negatively about their precious chef's dishes, how we don't understand nothing, etc. In conclusion, and after reading through previous reviews too, I can confidently say that this seems to not have been nor will be the first or last case. There seems to be a clear pattern and common complaints about same thing, but that no one will ever take that constructive feedback away and try to improve. Needless to say after years of supporting this local business, we will no longer be returning. Not just for the terrible food experience, but more so for the horrible customer service we received from the Manager."

"For those who knew Milan before 2015, when the city hosted the World 's fair (Expo : be warned it 's changed. A lot. Especially in terms of eateries. Myriad new places, international as well as Italian, trendy, gimmicky, what have you, an over abundance of glitzy joints, heavy on the price, and light on the quality. It 's a jungle out there! Many traditional places have closed, especially the places we enjoy for lunch, a set menu, designed for city center workers preferably also those who work on Saturdays at a price as close as possible to €10 for a first and second course, with side of vegetables, and water, maybe wine and coffee too being replaced by these new offerings. So, finding exactly what we were looking for, right in the heart of central Milan, on Via San Giovanni sul Muro, a street that boasts lovely antique jewellery stores, where Via Meravigli becomes Corso Magenta, was a total delight. The more so that the place was fun. We ate in the first floor dining room, up the rather narrow spiral staircase, a jolly room with its typical red check trattoria tablecloths, and all. The food was fine (at €14/head, for three choices of first and second courses, wine, good choice €10/bottle , and the atmosphere was great. Busy as it was, the wait staff took great care of us, and service was swift. Who else was eating there? a group of Alpini soldiers at the next table, keenly discussing an upcoming event they were organizing, some tourists, Italian and otherwise, and some locals, looking like they came here often. And so will we! What we didn 't do was step across the street to Marchesi, the wonderful pastry shop and bar, now owned by Prada, for a post prandial coffee, as Burla Gio included that in its set menu, but that would be a great way to end a meal, before heading off, five minutes down Corso Magenta, to Santa Maria delle Grazie to see The Last Supper (if you have tickets! , or, as we did, a visit to Leonardo 's Vineyard at the Casa degli Attelani, across the street."

"Being local and eating out a fair bit we were looking forward to trying this place out and when we saw a groupon I thought great way to try it so I called to book a table and the lady rudely said well we dont take groupon anymore . I explained it was dated until 19th July so she said ok then we will have to honour it . We turned up with a third person so were happy to spend extra and of course we would have had a few glasses of wine/beer extra so were not there on the cheap just to use up the coupon and to test the cuisine. Anyway the lady behind the counter totally ignored us so I asked where to sit and she pointed and said anywhere. We took a table and waited and waited (there were only 3 or 4 other tables of people there) so I went and got the menu 's myself. After choosing our dishes still no one had bothered to come over to us so I assumed it must be a self service place and went up to the counter to order. She told me to sit down and she will come over. Another 5 to 10 mins later nothing, not even a drink. She was doing a couple of coffees for a table but then we saw another coule come in and she went and served them so we had no chice but to walk out and say stuff the groupon. We went to Chianti restaurant instead where we were welcomed with open arms and happily spent £75 instead. Service is everything and I would guess the food in Onik must be great as you can only be this rude and ignorant if it is superb but sadly we will never know as i will never frequent this palce again. I live and work locally and they have not only lost our repeat business but those of others who ask me for a good restaurant in this area."
