"Being local and eating out a fair bit we were looking forward to trying this place out and when we saw a groupon I thought great way to try it so I called to book a table and the lady rudely said well we dont take groupon anymore . I explained it was dated until 19th July so she said ok then we will have to honour it . We turned up with a third person so were happy to spend extra and of course we would have had a few glasses of wine/beer extra so were not there on the cheap just to use up the coupon and to test the cuisine. Anyway the lady behind the counter totally ignored us so I asked where to sit and she pointed and said anywhere. We took a table and waited and waited (there were only 3 or 4 other tables of people there) so I went and got the menu 's myself. After choosing our dishes still no one had bothered to come over to us so I assumed it must be a self service place and went up to the counter to order. She told me to sit down and she will come over. Another 5 to 10 mins later nothing, not even a drink. She was doing a couple of coffees for a table but then we saw another coule come in and she went and served them so we had no chice but to walk out and say stuff the groupon. We went to Chianti restaurant instead where we were welcomed with open arms and happily spent £75 instead. Service is everything and I would guess the food in Onik must be great as you can only be this rude and ignorant if it is superb but sadly we will never know as i will never frequent this palce again. I live and work locally and they have not only lost our repeat business but those of others who ask me for a good restaurant in this area."

"Booked here for special meal for my sons 10th Birthday, I booked via Facebook messenger and my booking was all confirmed. However from the moment we walked in we had a feeling it was not going to be a great experience when the waitress had no record of our booking! After a lot of sighing and running backwards and forwards she finally seated us on a table for 4 (there were 5 of us! by the door and one of us had to squash on the end of the table not ideal. When I say she 'seated us ' I mean she barked at us just sit there . What a lovely way to treat your customers! So currently this month they are doing a 50% off food offer which would be great if they had actually had enough staff to deal with how busy they were, which I assume was due to this 50% offer. Surely if you put on an offer like this you should expect to be VERY busy and to staff accordingly...Not San Remo- 2 waitresses on with a full restaurant. Service was slow and very poor. Not welcoming at all, very abrupt and verging on rude when our orders were taken. Food was very slow to arrive around a 45 min wait for main course which when it did arrive food was bought out one plate a time which meant that 2 of us had almost finished by the time the rest of us got our meals. The garlic bread we ordered to come with the mains arrived just as we had pretty much finished eating! The absolute one and only plus was that the food was actually really nice when it did arrive. However, there are plenty of better places for great Italian food and good ambience in the area and the extremely poor service mean I would never consider returning here!"

"Having just been knocked back from another as yet unnamed restaurant for the second time, my lovely girlfriend and I decided we would come back here to satisfy our hunger. Having visited several times before and knowing that there wasn't going to be an issue accomodating us after 8, my mind was made up almost automatically. When travelling round the country I've been to quite a few of these Table Table restaurants. With them all I've always been greeted With a combination of comfortable and homely surroundings, a decent menu selection, good service and tasty food which looks like the menu. The best kind of pub grub. Being a Tuesday night When we arrived, the service was impeccable, with no wait to be seated, no delay in taking drinks orders and fast efficient delivery of our food. Service even came with a warning that the middle of the chicken might be hot and to take care. Also, during the evening (after 6 I think) they run a specials menu which has the option of 2 courses for £9.99 or 3 courses for £11.99. The specials had a varied selection of food ranging from burgers and salads through to a delicious chicken and ham pie. This time I had the chicken goujons with a caramel glaze, which was just delicious, followed up with the fish and chips, and the tastiest apple crumble with custard I've tasted. The pasta dishes and banoffee sundae also comes recommended. The beer garden outside looks like it could be a nice place to sit when the weather gets better and the premier inn next door could come in handy if the reasonable drinks prices prove to be too much of a temptation for any drivers. I'll be back here for sure. Location : 8/10 (only marked down a bit for the road running past the beer garden) Atmosphere and Surroundings : 10/10 Service : 10/10 Food : 10/10"

"Wow what a difference in customer service, in comparison to the Hourglass at Piccadilly.. I popped in Here for lunch as I had a cheque of £35 to use from Trg Concessions , after an appalling service in Hourglass at Piccadilly Train Station.. The food here does not offer homemade burgers but Italian food. Approaching the Italianesque restaurants, we were greeted and seated outside with great enthusiasm. I could not fault the level of care from beginning to end. Even the manageress came out several times to ensure everything was okay. To start we chose the garlic bread to share accompanied by mushrooms rissoto balls. I have to say this was surprisingly one of the best garlic pizza breads I have had. The base was light and airy with lots of garlic...nom! The risotto balls were tasty , firm on the outside and soft and ricey in the middle. The Mains where everything drops slightly in wow factor. It is rare I choose a veggie dish, but I decided on the butternut squash with pine nuts, and my companion the chicken scallops. The presentation was not great , and mine was just a roast butternut squash, no hidden surprises and a bland salad to match..also not enough pine nuts! The chicken was also apparently bland and very dry... The Peroni was good to wash this down..Overall I think this place is a tad pricey in reflection to what you receive. If they offered the same quality and variety of food as the Hourglass but maintain the high level of customer care this would easily be a 4 star place."

"I had made a reservation for 2:00 PM, and upon arrival, we opted to sit in the beer garden because it was such a warm day. We were informed that we needed to order and pay for our meals inside, which was fine. Inside, we were handed two menus. I had been raving to my friend about the amazing pizzas they serve, so we were disappointed to find out that those are only available after 5:00 PM. However, there are plenty of other delicious options on the menu, so we decided to go with burgers— I chose the Highlander and my friend went for the chili burger. We let the waitress know we’d like to sit outside, which was no problem. However, I found it a little odd that we had to carry the jug with the numbered wooden spoon, along with the condiments and cutlery, to our table ourselves. It would have been nice to be shown to a table and have the necessary items placed there for us. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and we were not disappointed—the burgers were fantastic and the portion sizes were quite generous. My friend thought the chili on their burger had a flavor that leaned a bit too much toward tomato sauce, but that’s just personal preference. After finishing our meal, we ended up chatting for about 45 minutes, during which our dirty plates were left in front of us as no one checked on us since the food was served. This might be something management could improve upon. Would I return? Absolutely! It’s a lovely place for drinks on a summer evening, and the food certainly competes with the best. A few tweaks could enhance the experience, like making diners feel less like they might be hastily heading out without paying, and ensuring staff return to the table during diners' stays. Also, it would be nice if diners weren’t expected to carry their cutlery to the table. I hope the owners take these small criticisms in the spirit they are intended."
