"Well, I was staying away from home due to work and found this Indian restaurant (I do love Curries so looked out for one). Yes, the girl taking orders (I presume the owner's daughter) was friendly and very helpful, and the service was quick, probably...because there weren't many people in there, but that did surprise me because it was Saturday night. Upon arrival, I sat down and disappeared into the chair (no springs moved to another seat only slightly better. Had poppadoms, tasted awful but they came out after around seconds so maybe they were yesterday's? Chutney, mint yogurt etc were the worst I've had, very bland, even the onion was watery and tasteless. I wondered how good the main would be. Omg, I hate to say this but it was honestly the worst curry I have ever tasted and I was very disappointed. As other reviews have said, it was dry chewy chicken chunks in a paste. I ate half of it and just wanted to get out of there in the end, got the bill then suddenly they had a power cut! Lights kept flashing on and off as the owner repeatedly kept resetting the breaker which just kept tripping out. The card reader for payment stopped working so I was stuck. After mins the owner brought out candles! Somebody in the restaurant offered to help the owner, and after mins got the lights on. (I hope he was rewarded with a discount but I doubt it very much I eventually paid but they wanted the itemised receipt they gave me after I paid, but I needed it for work, but eventually sorted it (they let me have the last cm of the receipt I left the run down front porch area with two doors, couldn't close the first door, it wouldn't shut. Then the owner just slammed it behind me and it shut, which I thought was a bit rude as I was still there in the porch looking at him! I went through the second door onto the street and the door handle came off in my hand along with that long rod bit as well. Then the Indian owner came running out and took it from me. I couldn't stop laughing all the way home. Will I go back? Absolutely not!"

"Updated Wow has this place gone so down hill... So I'm a regular here and now i wont be coming back now. All the staff have changed from what i can tell no one from the original people from my first 5star review remain. Where do i begin... so apparently speaking/understanding English has become a difficult task for the person who now works the till/phone, i hate to think the number of incorrect orders he has put through. He's friendly enough but i have had to resort to pointing out what i want on the menu as philly cheesestake with added mushrooms was incomprehensible to him. Other customers in store had same problems. Luckily there was another staff member to translate for him. He had to use his phone to add up my order in front of me, i assume the till is too complicated for him to use. Filled with confidence that my orders are going to be correct I'm totally sure that's good food hygiene practice... He definitely does not sit on the loo with his phone at break, then handle it whilst prepping food... I'm sure... right.. does he "

"After leaving Redmond's Bar in Duke St Glasgow, i intended to go for a Pizza, i had my young Puppy with me of 5 months' whom was outside. My Boyfriend then proceeded to bring my Pup in to ask me something due to the length...of wait. I was met with a very Rude and angry server, who immediately advised me dogs were not allowed even though she was lifted, this did not aggravate me although the attitude of the person Serving me. Her attitude stank and she wasnt slow to let me know. So from here i went on to wait 25 mins at least to await my Pizza, the order i made was The Greek', i got home to find out that it was a Pizza i can only describe as a Inferno Hot, i have never seen so many Chilli Peppers on a Pizza, after getting home i could have cried especially as i have a intolerance to Jalapeno Peppers. Management has now been notified."

"I don't know why the so many negative reviews here. Have ordered over 10 times. Sometimes the toppings are a bit sparse, depends on the dude doing it, but friendly staff etc and drivers make up for it. Most of the time pizza is made very well. I've asked to have the toppings a bit better distributed more of them before after a bad experience and they definitely made it better on that delivery. Good pizza, good guys"

"Ordered a delivery tonight, as a student nurse i have just finished a 13 hour shift and was looking forward to a takeaway. Food ordered at 7.15 and delivered 40 minutes later cold and incorrect. I called the store who instead of delivering a new pizza (like most chains would) decided to deliver 'just ' the toppings...this was a further 20 minutes later...at which point the pizza was cold!! Gave the pizza back to the delivery driving stating i was not eating that- and wanted a refund....rang the store...they refused a refund! i have contacted their customer services....manager 'Sid ' as he calls himself is an absolute joke! Don 't order from here, food, staff and management are awful."

"I treated my friend to an annual day out and we decided to try Papa John's pizza for the first time. We chose the family feast deal which included 2 medium pizzas, 2 sides, and a drink for £22.99 - an amazing offer! We were pleasantly surprised to find a half-off deal for ordering 4 toppings on 2 medium pizzas. We went with hot buffalo wings and cheesy breadsticks, along with a Pepsi to drink. Although there was a technical issue with the online payment and I was charged twice, the issue was resolved promptly after contacting the bank. I appreciate the patience and helpfulness of the staff member who assisted me over the phone. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and look forward to getting the refund for the extra charge. "I've been a regular customer of Papa Johns (77 Holburn Street) for the last 8 years. All was perfect, up to the last 4 months. My most recent order was placed online at 7 PM to deliver asap. 1 hour and 20 minutes later, we were still waiting for the pizza. I had to drive to the restaurant and check what happened, and just when I arrived, they started to work on my order, which means, I had to wait 20 extra minutes for the pizzas. For the previous order, I placed it online and asked to be delivered at a specific time of the day. 1 and 20 minutes later, we were still waiting for the pizzas to arrive. When I called and asked what happened, they said they missed that order and would work on it at that time, which means we had to wait 30 more minutes for the pizzas. They arrived almost 2 hours later than the time requested in that day's order."

"This restaurant in Cheltenham serves the best pizza. The food is of incredibly high quality and I love watching the staff make the pizzas. They are truly talented and take great pride in their work. Unlike other places where the staff seem to hate their jobs, the employees here are always friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to be there. If there is ever an issue with my order, they quickly replace it and often let me keep the original as a goodwill gesture. While it may be a bit more expensive than Pizza Hut, the excellent quality is definitely worth the extra pounds. I continue to go back because I enjoy it so much. Sometimes, they even perform cool tricks with the dough, spinning it in their hands. Keep up the good work, we will be back soon."

"Terrible experience! I placed an order but when I needed to correct a mistake just 2 minutes after ordering, the restaurant didn't answer the phone for an hour, despite trying 3 different phones! When they finally answered, they said they couldn't make any changes because the food was already prepared. I ended up losing £42. If they had just answered the phone, this could have all been prevented. The other branches were no help, and even the headquarters were closed at 1:00pm! I couldn't even get a partial refund, and the phone was abruptly disconnected on me. Overall, a truly awful experience."

"I placed an order this afternoon from Papa John's in Crewe through Just Eat for a delivery at 7pm, which was confirmed at 4:22pm. When 7:20pm rolled around and I still hadn't received my order, I called Papa John's in Crewe to inquire about it. I was told that the driver could arrive any minute. After waiting for half an hour and still not receiving my order, I called again and was given the same response. Feeling misled, I requested that my order be cancelled and a refund be issued. However, I was informed that this was not possible as the order was already on its way. The pizza finally arrived after 8pm, over an hour late, with no added chilies and the Hot Buffalo sauce missing. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the service and quality of my order and will not be ordering from Papa John's in Crewe again."

"Last month ordered pizza. Took about an hr, cold, congealed cheese...you know the drill. This time they 've excelled themselves. After an hr I phoned up to ask where dinner was. Shortage of drivers was to blame. Told them I didn 't want a repeat of the previous order IE cold. Was assured they hadn 't cooked it yet and it 'd be hot when it arrived. Said it would be 15-20 mins. Yep you 've guessed it, no sign of it after 20 mins or indeed 50 mins. Phoned again. Was assured again the driver was on way. Another 10 minutes and the driver turns up. Lets see if you, dear reader can guess the state of the 'piping hot ' pizza. Ah yes.....It was more a lump of something than a food item by now. Phoned yet again to complain about it and asked to speak to someone in management. Was told the I couldn 't speak to the manager was he was busy making pizzas and getting deliveries ready but if I wanted another pizza I could pay for another one but it would take two hrs to deliver. If I wanted a refund they couldn 't do it instore so I 'd have to go on the website and find the customer services number. In summing up there 's plenty of kebab shops in Coli that 'll do you a nicer pizza than PJs so we 'll be giving some of them a look from now on as it would appear that giving a toss about customers ain 't high on Papa Johns list of priorities. Typical big corporation mentality. We 've had your money so sod ya. Ho hum"

However, when I checked with my credit card provider, they said that papa johns uk are on their art list, as this happens frequently and I should report it to the papa john office. We were able to customise our pizzas, even calling to adjust one, and they got every pizza exactly right. The toppings were generous, fresh and evenly distributed, the pizzas arrived exactly on time, they even have gluten-free pizza (which we didn't try) and vegan pizza (which we did try and was amazing).
