"it was not an ideal place for what was clearly a first date. the restaurant was empty, except the table of the couple and mine. when I waited for my dining room partner, it was impossible not to observe the abhorrent first date conversation that had taken place. both jumped to speak at the same time, and then a pregnant break would come. I said a spiritual prayer - please let them eat here well, I went to the restaurant on a very rainy Tuesday, when it seemed that nothing could be redeemed on the day.
