"No one to meet us at the door and show us to a table. When we headed to a table, we were intercepted by the manageress, who rolled her eyes and raised eyebrows in dismay that we were headed for a table. We were told that we had to sit at a table for two, although a lone female customer came in just after us, who sat at a table for four, as did a man five minutes later. There were parents struggling at smaller tables, trying to feed their children. There was a poor choice of beverage and much on the menu was not available. One expects to pay a premium when eating out and in return one expects not to be treated by a sarcastic manageress. I expect my wife and myself to be treated with dignity, if not respect. This was a shameful experience which I certainly will not allow to happen again. The manageress lacks charm and finesse, and the food is overpriced and uninteresting."

"I ordered The Don with Chunky Skin-on Fries and Garlic Mayo dipping sauce. It was the best burger I have ever had! No wonder there was about a 15-20 mins wait, because it was worth it. The waitress was adorable. I would definitely recommend it and I wish we would've visited it another time to try something else, it is a must-try!"

"ambiente 5/5 taste 4/5 service 4.5/5 price 3/5 ambience when I came to the place, I knew that I would enjoy my time here. from furniture to light everything is beautifully placed, the variety of lights decorating the restaurant is crazy. taric I went here with my friends, from whom 2 vegetarians were and fortunately gourmetburger kitchen managed to also please their taste buds, which is rare in such a case. we ordered a classic chicken, classic bark meat, coro shake and two classic veg burger. all of them tasted delicious with some really tempting sauces on their sides.(must taste the kiwi fruit sauce) the shake was thick and super delicious. service that reached our tables within 10 minutes and the server made us welcome. price okay so I have problems here, because only a 6oz burger I had to pay £9, which I think is too much for a court that does not even contain one side. for a complete eating I wouldn't make it pay this price, but for just one burger, it hurts somehow:p I'll explain it to you. I guess so."

"On an overnight stay in Nottingham my son and I ventured out to find somewhere different to eat and discovered the Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Firstly, I have to say, the food, the staff and the location are all five star. We ordered from the App, just to try it, and soon we were brought our burgers and some 'skinny fries '. The burgers were excellent, our initial reservations about the high price for a burger were soon quashed. The flavours popped in your mouth and we were surprised as to just how good eating a burger could be! I had a vegan jack fruit burger and my son a chicken one...both with lots of tasty pickles and sauces. We both had the very best thick banana milk shake with them. We probably wouldn 't order the skinny fries again however, as they were the tiniest fries.. literally like matchsticks, and although very cute and a novelty, didn 't really add anything to the meal. Now, I was going to knock off half a star for two reasons..the price is high..and for such prices and a great menu I felt the typical fast food type interior could have been a little more plush...but to be honest it didn 't bother me enough to do so. For a special occasion, or for a special treat, I 'd highly recommend a visit there."

"Myself, husband and son were in Windsor for the day as part of my son's 18th Birthday celebrations. Where we went for lunch was his pick and he really fancied a burger so Gourmet Burger Kitchen seemed an obvious choice. I have to say I'm not the biggest burger fan so the thought of a burger restaurant didn't thrill me. Firstly we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff who quickly sat us down. The menu choice was impressive and despite initial reservations I found several items that sounded tempting. I decided to opt for the Chargrilled Chicken Satay Burger and went for the bunless option. My son had The Mighty with fries and onion rings and the husband had The Major Tom with the addition of avocado and bacon. Drinks wise we had an Oreo milkshake, Ginger Beer and a makeshift Mocha as it is not something on their menu but our helpful server was very quick to oblige and create a Mocha for us. For someone who was decidedly underwhelmed at the thought of a burger restaurant it was the most delicious meal I've had in a long time. My bunless burger was served with Homeslaw and corn in place of a bun, a very nice substitute. As for my husband and son ...well firstly my son was beaten by his massive burger which is a first big my husband polished off his. In conclusion great food made even better by the fabulous staff. Thank you we will be back next time we visit."

"Gourmet Burger Kitchen (or GBK to those in the know is a relatively new addition to York’s eateries, having sprung up on Lendal about a year ago. As such it’s still very smart and shiny inside, with lots of glass and nice-looking wood poshing' up the interior enough to signify that this is NOT a fast food restaurant. No bright plastics used here! (I must confess to a nasty habit of forgetfully calling it ‘Gourmet Burger King’!)GBK specialises in top quality burgers and what a choice! There are about ten different choices of beef burger, four chicken, five vegetarian and five extra-special specials (buffalo or wild boar burger anyone? Everything is extremely tasty, but having worked my way through a fair bit of the menu I have settled on the rather “old school” favourite of the cheeseburger! Burgers are all under a tenner, but you do have to get fries and sides separately. An average meal with wine would be but you can reduce that enormously by laying your hands on a for voucher (available on the internet at the moment).Would definitely recommend GBK for a quick bite at the start of your evening, as the quality of burger will not be found elsewhere in York. However, it’s not a great venue for a leisurely meal with friends, as they don’t seem to expect you to want to take your time over things. "Ive eaten here quite a few times and compared to their branch on Northumberland Street this branch is in need of closing down. It is awful. Ive always submitted feedback citing the accumulated dirt clearly visible under the service areas when you're waiting to order...(easily fixed) and that the lights and dirty, broken air-conditioning filters are hanging from the ceiling over the cooking areas (not so easily fixed) along with various hatches left open in the ceiling (easily fixed) leaving dirty unfinished voids accessible for any sort of vermin or dirt. This was my last visit to this unit after paying £16 for 2 regular sized meals (triple cheese and caramelised onion XL) Burger King has always (in my estimation) been a cut above McDonalds and certainly the premium price on their speciality burgers supports this. However, this meal was literally 2 burgers in a bun with some cheese and onions no bacon, no salad nothing else at all. It bears no resemblance to anything on the menu. (I even looked at their website as I was sat there thinking it was really odd- nothing like it exists) I was going to eat it but then started to think, 2 small fries, 2 drinks and 2 dull burgers in a rather firm bun- £16. I decided to return this as I wasn't happy at all. I approached the counter with the tray and stood right by the front very clearly returning something during a very quiet time (Pre- lunch) and was ignored by two staff who appeared to be senior staff (wearing shirts, parading up and down with clipboards) This went on long enough for me to seriously thing about dropping the tray then and there. Luckily I was then approached by a really pleasant guy from the rear. I told him that this doesn't look like anything from their menu and I'm really not happy paying £16 for 2 of these meals. He did say he doesn't know what it was meant to be and really promptly brought us over 2 replacements (which were really among the best and nicest burgers I have had from anywhere My issue with this branch seems to be- Lazy management. The kitchens are untidy, dirty and bits of the ceiling fittings are hanging off by what looks like tape. The kitchen surfaces/ hoods etc are all smeared. Some of these things are not so easily fixed' but if it was clean, tidy and management actually engaged' this branch could fly if they were half as good as the guy who made my second burger. I am not interested in going back ever until the routine simply done by anyone' jobs are complete (ceiling access panels closed, cleaning under the heated service bar, tidying up all the bits of toys etc which are on display in the kitchen rear area and the basic clean/ polish of the bits you can see from the counter. Anyone could do that. Technicians need to come in to fix all of the broken light fittings, broken filthy air conditioning filters etc which are hanging from tape over the food preparation area. EVERYBODY can see these things. If these are the bits they are happy to show us how bad are the bits we cannot see?"

"Yummy yummy burgers! I simply love the GBK in Richmond because not only its location near the bars but also because every time I've gone in there the staff are so friendly! The restaurant is relatively big and although the tables are lined up with each other you don't feel cramped. The ambience is lovely and i would recommend it for both couples and groups of friends. Overall, if you enjoy burgers then GBK should satisfy you, their burgers are delicious and unlike take away burgers that are greasy, GBK burgers are exactly what they say Gourmet! So your sure to find a burger to suit you!"

"It does what it says in the title burgers! There is a good selection of burgers and a choice of fries to have with them. If you like onion rings, you will love it here as they do very good onion rings! Overall very...good food. We took advantage to the two for one deal, but if you were to order using the standard menu prices this restaurant is on the more expensive side. Surprisingly you order food at the bar and pay up front, surprising because it was really quiet and the staff could easily have taken the order from us at our table. I would have rated Service as Average, but staff were quick to resolve a forgotten item so I went for Very Good. However, if the order had been taken at the table it wouldn't have been forgotten in the first place. Maybe need to rethink the ordering policy here when there are so many options including how rare or well done you want your burger?"

The manager was very helpful when there was a recent problem with processing a refund due to a card machine problem. I can certainly recommend the Liverpool branch as they have super friendly and knowledgeable staff."
