"In the States, you could probably expect to find a handful of great burger joints in every city. Unfortunately, Brighton only has a few with one of the most consistent being Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Situated smack in the middle of the North Laines, GBK is a lively place that's quite busy in the week and rammed at weekends. They have seating indoors and out and the large dining area makes it perfect for big groups and kids birthday parties. The steep prices mean parents that decide to treat their kid had better check their wallets before inviting along the rest of the class! There's 28 different burgers on the menu, all made from tasty Aberdeen Angus steak apart from the organic Laverstoke Park Farm range (which includes buffalo and wild boar). Seasoning wise, you can choose from cajun, chilli, BBQ, mexican and satay to more yuppy varieties like avacado and bacon. Vegetarians have a choice of falafel, puy lentil, mushroom or aubergine burgers but having sampled these, I'd recommend sticking to fries and milkshake. Really. The price of burgers range from £6 £8 but they charge an extra £2.75 for fries and an extra £1.55 for dipping sauces. The sauces are hand made allegedly but I still think it's a little mean to charge for such small quantities. They also sell a small range of beers, wines, sodas and milkshakes. Don't go expecting a diner milkshake made from ice cream, milk and valhrona though these are much thinner and flavourless, hence 4 stars instead of 5!"

Went for lunch with a friend first time ever been to the brand. Was pleasantly surprised. Really good burger and lush sweet potato fries. The only criticism I would give is we waited along time for our drinks but really loved the venue worth a visit

My husband and I gave GBK a go as we had a 2 for 1 voucher. Thankfully we had this as I don 't think we 'll ever come back to pay full price for the food. I had the 'The Don ' burger which was salty and lacked flavour. Service was okay but was at least thankful that they served our food in 15 minutes. Unfortunately due to the standard food quality and its prices, I don 't think I 'll come back.

This is a great spot to visit in Brighton, offering more than just typical burger fare. They have a nice selection of draft beers and a friendly atmosphere. I stopped in for a snack and was impressed by the creative presentation - the fries came in a cute little bucket and the burger was perfectly sized for easy biting. It's frustrating when a burger is so big you can't take a proper bite. I plan to return next year, hopefully during Pride week, for another enjoyable meal at this restaurant.

This restaurant delivers on its promise of great burgers in a pleasant atmosphere. We had to wait 20 minutes for our burgers, as we were informed when we placed our order due to the busy crowd. However, our drinks took almost as long to arrive, which was slightly frustrating. The camemburger was delicious, and the sweet potato fries were a hit. Overall, for £12 including a drink, it was a good deal. The busy environment resulted in my friend's chair getting bumped repeatedly as people navigated past him, which became bothersome quickly, so we decided not to stay long.

You can't really go wrong with a GBK its exactly what it says on the tin hearty, really tasty burgers and chips. There are some quite creative burgers here (confit of duck burger?? which really isn't my cup of tea and without trying it, I'd say stick to the great basics! Cheese and bacon, blue cheese with mushroom, the breaded or pan fried chicken burgers are excellent (although for me the beef burgers are a must . Not all would agree with me but the skinny fries are my favourite over the chunky ones (not because they're healthier there's no avoiding fat in this place! but because I'm a girl who likes to finish her meal and the big chunky chips alone could finish me off without even touching...

Located on Gardner Street in central Brighton, this branch of Gourmet Burger Kitchen was my choice for lunch on my last day in the city before heading back to Manchester. The prices have increased since my last visit, now ranging from £8 to £11 or more for a burger, plus additional costs for sides like chips and milkshakes. While they don't offer a meal deal, they do have some reasonably priced options on the lunch menu. I opted for the grilled chicken burger, which was served with lettuce, red onion, relish, and chunky skin-on fries. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about gluten-free options, although I found the chicken to be a bit tough in places. The burger itself could have use...

I considered giving this 3 stars, but decided that I won 't let the actions of one employee to cloud my judgement. The menu had plenty of options and also had a vegan burger (which is great because my girlfriend is vegetarian while I 'm not). I had the bacon burger and the meat was delicious, cooked just right. My girlfriend had the vegan cheese burger and had no complaints. The problems I had with this place is the overpriced burgers that are not even a whole meal, you literally have to order chips and drinks as sides . By some lucky miracle, we happened to go on a day where it was 50% off so I saved myself from a $40 burger meal for 2. I also wasn 't a big fan on ordering through the app....

If this is gourmet cooking, Raymond Blanc has a lot to answer for, and I have clearly misunderstood the definition of the word 'gourmet ' my entire adult life. Do other gourmet have a bar where you order? And an aquarium with no fish in? And a wall that changes colour for no adequately explored reason? I 'm nitpicking here: it is actually very good, just not what it purports to be. It 's a burger bar: a big, outlandish decorated burger bar that quite literally spoils you for choice. Some of the combinations are unusual, as are some of the meats: you can keep you bison burger GBK, thank you very much. If you look past all that, the finished product is very good indeed: I 've had some very tas...

We came here Sunday evening as we had been to the GBK at Milton keynes and thought it would be a nice treat. But we were wrong, we went in and we were left waiting for 5 minutes for a table, even though three quarters of the tables were empty and staff kept walking past us. Finally we got seated and placed our order. I had the GBK burger and my wife had a salad. After about a 15 minute wait, the waitress came over and told my wife they didn't have the vegetable crisps to go with her salad. I don't understand why not, they are not a fresh food that goes off quick, so they should have had stock and there was no excuse. They offered advocado with the salad instead of the crisps, which my wife a...
