"As we had come to The Iskele late lunchtime, we were expecting it to be fairly quiet. But it was the opposite, the restaurant was pretty much packed and so it was a good thing that I had made a reservation. The luscious colours, wall hangings and lanterns from the ceiling welcomes diners into The Iskele! The dining area is fairly big although some of the tables are quite close together. There are lots of ornaments decorating the walls and shelves around the restaurant. The Iskele also has quite a big outdoor dining area with wooden tables and chairs. A hot and cold starter were chosen! The Falafel were crispy little patties made of chickpeas and had a good flavour to them. They were served on houmous with salad. The classic Houmous was a generous portion and we were given warm bread to go with it. Layers of potato, aubergine and courgette with a cheese sauce made up the main dish of Vegetarian Moussaka. It was topped with a lovely tomato sauce as well. The Moussaka was a really filling"

"a nice Italian place to stop when pizza express does not make it for them. the vegetarian options were somewhat limited in comparison to the meats, but what I had to eat was still nice (the ravioli aurora, £8.25) the workers were linguistic and helpful, although occasionally they were somewhat slow and disappeared from time to time. about 5-10 minutes walk from the old street train station."

"Delicious!! Haven't visited for a while due to covid, worth the wait. Attentive waitress, super helpful with questions we asked. Visited with myself, husband and 2 children for Saturday lunch. We all came out stuffed. Kids loved the bread and sauces before our main meal, I got to eat the entire olive section with our sauces. Offered Turkish tea at the end of our meal, embarrassing to say we hadn't tried before, gave us to try, different.... depends if that is your preferred taste? Husband loved it, kids enjoyed the sugar lumps Pleasantly surprised that the bill only came to £53 including drinks for the 4 of us. Won't leave it so long to visit the next time"

"Meza is a busy restaurant. Meals are cooked to order in full view of the diners in the main room in the front. The kitchen is contemporary Lebanese, with a good selection of vegetarian options (including several bean dishes) in addition to delicious chicken and lamb variations. The red and white Lebanese house wine is delicious and cheap. The service is attentive and friendly. We first sat next to a very loud party in the back room, and the Meza team was happy to bring us to the front with a minimum of foot."

"Good to be back. I stopped going to Azouma a long time ago, but one of this days, I just passed in front of the restaurant windows and saw a full restaurant. Even if it was half past one in the afternoon, out of curiosity, I went in just to have a look. I was presented the lunch time buffet they have every day and I just fell in love with this restaurant once again. I don't know exactly what they changed since two years ago, when I last went there, but I have to admit it was the best lunch I ever had. Surprised as I was, I booked for dinner in the same day, and when I got there, at around half past seven, the restaurant was completely transformed. The beautiful flickering of the candle light, the rose petals on the tables, the ambiance and the way the staff just knew how to make you feel comfortable and like in a journey through Morocco. This is not the Azouma I knew 2 years ago. Thank you to all the team for bringing back on of Canterbury's finest restaurants."

"I visited this establishment on Saturday for my husbands birthday. I was very underwelmed by the customer service i recieved. When we arrived a small group of 6 people also arrived approx 5 mins after). We placed our order and proceeded to wait, the small group placed there order 5 minutes after us. It was a very long wait or the drinks we ordered but we waited patiently. We waited 40 minutes for our food while the larger group recieved their food quite quickly after they ordered and before us I may add). When I questioned the length of time we were waiting, I was taken aback by the response that ' it was no ones fault ' and that they didnt inform us of the delay because ' we didnt ask '. I can honestly say that the food is lovely but the whole establishment is let down by the lack of customer service and the atomosphere as staff were walking around eating and drinking without checking in on guests. My annoyance was more the length of waiting and the customer service as they were not welcoming at all and this was on a SATURDAY NIGHT! Will not be returning even though they are so close to home and the food was pretty decent."

"The food at this restaurant is fantastic. The staff are friendly and attentive. We ordered a variety of starters for a meze and were impressed with the generous portion sizes. Three starters were more than enough for two people. The location, just across from the Gala Theatre, makes it a convenient choice for a pre-show meal."
