"I usually don’t write reviews for restaurants but this restaurant was really gave us an amazing experience and i feel compelled to write this review Firstly;; just wanna state that this restaurant is SEVERELY UNDERRATED. When we entered the restaurant, there was nobody else dining here. Starting off with the pricing of the food. The prices of food here is relatively cheaper than everywhere else in the city and for the quality of the food that they serve, it’s a price for great value. Next, foods. There’s not that many options for food here but it doesn’t matter because the food here is AMAZING and i do not say that lightly. They serve a 3 course meal for £14 with foods you will probably not find anywhere else in Canterbury. The food was succulent and was delivered relatively quickly; they even made sure to serve us after we’d finish our starters more on this in the service section later but the foods, from starter to main course and dessert were simply sensational. I would highly recommend for everyone to try. Lastly, service. Where do i even start the service was simply put: amazing. There were constant checkins on whether the food was okay, whether we needed anything— water refills; more bread (complimentary btw! or anything. Extremely friendly service and I can see the dedication in the waiter’s eyes as well. Thats all"

Lovely authentic rooms . Comfortable seating. Felt like I was un Morocco. The food was amazing. Taste buds overload. Reminded me of having a meal in the mountains of Morocco.

This was a recommendation by our hotel. It was quiet and not right on the beaten path. The buffet had many choices in a comfortable environment. We enjoyed our meal and the environment. View menu

Very disappointed. Food choice was limited, cold and poorly presented Restaurant was cold and draughty The young girl seemed disinterested no drinks orders taken Cutbacks on choice and quality but with an increase in price have taken their toll Won’t be visiting again

Two of us dined there for our wedding anniversary, having eaten several times before. The food was excellent and so plentiful that some was taken home. Well cooked and presented. Service was also very good, friendly and professional. In conversation we disclosed it was an anniversary of some significance and we were very kindly provided with a desert 'on the house '. In all, a most enjoyable experience. Oh, and the decor is most attractive and appropriate.

DONT waste your money. Having eaten here a couple of years ago we thought to revisit, what a mistake that was. The food was tasteless and soulless. The “ taglines “ were just chunks of meat swimming in a tasteless liquid , which was warm at best. There was one rice, vegetable biryani and some other vegetable dishes again floating in some non descriptive liquid. I can only assume looking back to the Azouma’s of days long gone that they have had a management change, I’m certain the chef/cook has never tasted his/her own dishes??? View menu

So sad to see, what was once a lovely restaurant, has let itself go! Have visited here many times but have never had such an appalling experience as this time!! How on earth it has a 4 star food review, I will never know... in my opinion, it only deserves 2. Service was non existent. There was a poor choice of buffet (most were virtually empty and not topped up during our meal) and what was available was minimal, watered down and no hotter than lukewarm!!. Dessert's were dry and tasteless (no choice of cream, yoghurt or ice cream to help it go down). It certainly was not worth £15 We will not be returning and DEFINITELY will not be recommending anymore.

Very disappointed. Having eaten there many times over the last 12 years with previously brilliant experience, this time having not visited for a couple of years there was very limited choice on the buffet. It seems that they have squeezed more chairs in as a result have limited space for food. Much less choice for all courses, the tagines were cold extremely watery, tasteless and had almost run out. Staff didn’t approach during our stay and other than water weren’t offered a beverage. Extremely disappointed please bring back the previous choices and the creamy warm tagines that were previously on offer. Cakes were dry previously had ice cream which was also gone. Couldn’t close the toilet do...

"After never visiting Canterbury before we where looking for somewhere to have a late lunch, we came across this place which looked ok, upon entering the back room we were offered to take a seat in the front area and someone will be with us. We asked what food there was and we where sarcastically shown the food on the blackboard, after choosing what we wanted the polite man went off and put the order in. We did feel that because the man had asked a couple of questions to another member of staff that he was spoke down too a bit. Anyway after placing the order and what we wanted the food came out it wasn’t correct but because it seemed like we were going to interrupt the people in the back room we just took what we had. It was nice food though. When we went to pay we hadn’t noticed that there wasn’t a price list so when we asked for the bill we were told that it was donation, what we thought was enough, it wasn’t posted anywhere and it took us by surprise as we where standing at the till, I was going to pay in cash but was told they don’t take cash so I had to give my donation in card by telling the person how much we where donating. After plucking a figure out of air as we wasn’t prepared we paid and left. Upon leaving we felt that the person we paid thought we hadn’t paid enough and wasn’t happy with the amount but after working out what we would have paid properly we worked out that we had paid more than what it might have been if there was a proper price on everything. Overall it has a great ethos and it’s great for giving people the experience that they need to be in a working environment but they need to show the price or tell customers first that it’s donations and card only."
