"We visited on a Sunday morning, after reading good reviews of their brunch service. The place was busy, noisy, children screaming and crying. Maybe we ought to have expected that. Uncomfortably warm, heating was full blast on a mild day, food very average and smallish portions. Better suited to families I guess than grops of friends wanting a catch up, not a relaxing nor pleasant 40 minutes. . We ate as quickly as we could and left."

"We had a lovely meal here. Two adults two kids. Kids menu was decent. Me and my partner had the bang bang chicken to start which was lovely! Both had the fillet cooked medium, sides all really tasty and home made chips and onion rings! The only thing I didn’t like was the guacamole (I know guacamole with steak but I love avocado! it honestly was the most horrible thing so pale in colour and smooth as anything it was clearly out of a bottle and not homemade. But that’s personal choice I guess! I would definitely eat here again the flavour on the steak was unreal!"

"We waited 1 hour for our drinks. 2 hours for our meal. This was my 25th birthday dinner and we were served after 2 hours and were then rushed to eat within half an hour since the restaurants close at 11. We had to take away our steak and drink in foil. We were rushed to cook and eat our steak. We didn’t get any desert to the fact we had no time left to eat and we were waiting to have desert at the restaurant for my birthday. We paid just under £170 and the service was absolutely awful. 2 and a half hours booking should be enough time to enjoy your meal. At no point did anyone apologise for the wait. If I knew this is the experience we would get I would never have booked this for my birthday. Me and my siblings were so disappointed. Spending £170 I should not have had to take my steak home in foil, my drink home in foil after waiting an hour for the first round and not even get a chance to have desert. What a disappointing experience, this was the worst part of the day."

"A charming little café in the heart of Catford, which might not meet everyone’s expectations. Unfortunately, the service was quite poor. I had lunch with some friends, and I had to get up to ask our server to take our order. My friends received their meals quickly, but I was left waiting for about 10 minutes before my food arrived. I had ordered a tuna salad with bread, but no bread was served. When I inquired about it, the bread finally came about 5 minutes later. On the bright side, the food was tasty; my salad was fresh and delicious, and both of my friends also enjoyed their meals. However, when it was time to get the bill, I had to get up and ask again, which took another 15 minutes. If the service were improved, this could be a fantastic spot for a meal."

"The restaurant features thoughtful decor and includes seating with a children's playground. It has a surprisingly spacious, warm, and relaxing atmosphere that feels welcoming. The space is furnished with a rustic and eclectic collection of wooden chairs and tables. The breakfast and lunch menu is extensive, offering a variety of appealing and unique traditional dishes. We ordered the split tapas and extra kibbeh, which were served quickly and with polite attention. The food was beautifully presented, delicious, and served hot. I would definitely recommend this place!"

"Oh my god, it was a year ago when we visited last. The food then was brilliant, but this surpassed every expectation. The sardines as a starter and the garlic and chilli prawns which we kind of shared were outstanding, I had the veal as my main with black olives and capers in a rich sauce, I’m still dreaming of it, the other half had the seafood pasta, he wouldn’t give me a taste as he hugged his bowl with a broad grin on his face, so took that to be a hit. Dessert I had the lightest tiramisu ever, he had I don’t know what, he wouldn’t tell me, but it was so delicious, he admitted in the car on the way home he had just taken a stab at the desert menu as had forgotten his glasses, but I’m glad he did."

"Had a nice evening albeit food overall was disappointing. The interior also doesn’t match up now to the outside space, more can be made of things potentially lovely pub. You often find food quality is compromised with festive menus and it becomes more like mass catering so lacked a bit of the quality and finesse of when I have visited previously. Brie bites looked like they were out of a party food box and most of the cheese was already oozing out and therefore stuck to the plate. Mains were pretty good but desserts disappointing, watery custard and a slice of Yule log thinner than a slice of bread. However overall good value and friendly service."

"I placed an order for delivery at this restaurant tonight at 4:50. I informed them I was in Shepherds Glen and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. After waiting 45 minutes with no food, I went down to ask about my order. I was told that the drivers had left and only mine was left, so I decided to pick it up myself. When I arrived, I had to wait while the staff seemed confused about my order, even though I had called ahead to collect it. When I finally got my food home, I realized it was cold and I had paid for delivery. This experience left me feeling very frustrated and hungry. The food itself was good when it was warm, but unfortunately, that was not often the case. I have had issues with missing items in my deliveries in the past as well. Overall, I would not recommend this place for delivery and suggest ordering over the phone and picking up your food instead. It seems like there are some communication and organization issues that need to be addressed by the management."

"I am reviewing the Restaurant in this post having also enjoyed a two night stay. The evening meal came as part of the generous package of Two course dinner when booking the room. Reception was extremely friendly and the comprehensive menu was brought to our pre prandial seats in the Bar in front of a roaring log fire. The menu was a delight to the eye and very comprehensive with, I am sure, something for everyone 's taste. I am a fan of duck dishes and the starter the first evening was a 'duck ' salad with rocket. Not what I would have normally combined but I gave it a go and have no regrets. My wife had the garlic mushrooms and says the same. For mains I thought to avoid the 'usual offerings ', Steak, Fish and Chips, Burgers etc.., and went for the Butternut Squash and Spinach Risotto as, although I AM carnivorous by nature, I wanted a change. It was gorgeous and just enough. Not overfacing at all and yet not 'twee ' in presentation. My wife had chicken and reports well on it. All washed down with a lovely Tempranillo from a limited but wide ranging list. No desserts. Gulp. I would have loved the mixed fruit crumble with custard but there was no room left. A good excuse to go back. Next evening was the same routine. I noted Crayfish as a starter and having been re-assured this was not just a fancy name for Prawn cocktail it was ordered. My wife had chicken liver pate with no regrets but I had to offer a Crayfish nibble to assuage her curiosity. We both confirmed how good it was. For mains I determined to try the Risotto again and this choice was also taken up by my wife. We both loved it. Ten out of ten. Again it went with another bottle of Tempranillo. And, sadly, again no Fruit Crumble was tried although it was offered. Memo to self. Go back soon and often. This place is too good to miss out on for long. Two of the nicest dining out experiences I have had in a long time. Not too fancy and pretentious but just good honest food, well cooked and presented."

"How on earth this restaurant acquired 5 stars is utterly beyond me. It doesn 't deserve one star. I looked at the menu and the reviews and booked. As it was Valentine 's night there was a set menu. 3 options on each course. This was not stated on the website. We were greeted when we arrived and were served drinks. There was no ambience whatsoever. A rose/carnation on the table or a glass of champagne/prosecco on arrival might have been an idea.... I would have chosen the crab and salmon ravioli. However we were told than ten minutes prior to our arrival the chef had 'dropped the whole tray of ravioli on the floor '. So the ravioli was off. We then chose the pate. We were given one piece of toast Main course was dreadful. My salmon was lukewarm. Very small portion too. My guest chose steak but was not asked how he wanted it cooked. It arrived very rare so it was sent back. It was cooked a bit more and returned to the table. It was very very tough. By this time I had finished my main course and my drink. I was not asked whether I would like another. After quite a while, we had to ask. The cheese board was mediocre to say the least. The restaurant was cold and uninviting. Rather sad as it is a lovely building with great potential. Why they only had three options on the menu is beyond me. It was not even busy! The owner was in jeans and a cowboy shirt.... there was no attempt to make this night special in any way. We were told that two staff had called in sick. Poor excuse. This restaurant has been open for exactly three years. It should have made its mark by now. The owner did make a reduction to our bill. However the evening was ruined and I came home feeling hungry. I think the owner is in the wrong job. Just a final comment.... having read the glowing reviews of this place before I booked I suspect the owner has a lot of friends! Such a pity."

"la cage imaginaire is a small, delightful, traditional French-Mediterranean restaurant that can be found in the picturesque dome road of flask walk in hampstead. its interieur is intimate, romantic, white tablecloth elegant – the perfect place for a meal with which someone special or even a quiet business dinner. there is a really good set menu for lunch (between 11:30 and 17:00) 2 courses for £15,95 and 3 courses for £19,95 – very reasonable in consideration of quality."

"The Sunday lunch was just okay, not great. The staff were good, but sitting in the pub side was quite cold since the fire wasn't lit. The food was okay, but nothing special. The beer was very good, and a clean pint is always nice. However, I think more attention should be paid to the environment, like lighting the fire or using radiators, and improving the quality of the food to make the perfect Sunday lunch."

"We had a lovely experience at the restaurant. There was a bit of confusion when we first arrived regarding our reservation, but once they located our name on the list, the service was outstanding. The staff were very friendly, and the pizzas were delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful time."

"more personal than diners. the starters took age groups and were cold. sent back and were better on the return. main dishes delicious. because of such a slow service and the tight time we had no dessert. last stroh was card machine not working, so I went to get money from atm instead of risking another delay that go to main hotel reception to use a card"

"Had lunch with group of 10 work colleagues . 2 of us entered by a Rose St entrance, I entered by main hotel door from Charlotte Square after passing it twice and 2 others had to text us as they couldn 't find the entrance! So...this eatery called The Garden is actual inside a hotel called the Kimpton but this info is not published anywhere! It would be handy to know this when one is booking! Not a huge selection of meals on offer, very very basic. I paid over £12 for a 'large ' salad which was basically 4 bits of chopped up pear (brick hard) a few strands of prosciutto, couple of leaves, tiny drizzle of balsamic and a huge dollop of buffalo mozzarella cheese in the middle . It was filling thanks to the size of the cheese but pretty tasteless. Cocktail menu was better, I had a Bakewell Sour cocktail (which was yum) instead of a sweet and a lavender lemonade soft drink with my meal which was divine. My contribution to the whole meal including a tip was £27 but I don 't really think it was worth it unfortunately. The staff were all lovely though."

"a welcome new independent in ely with a focus on sustainability, local suppliers and seasonal ingredients. the menu has very creative dishes and is completely vegetarian with several vegan and gluten-free options. all the dishes we tried were fresh and tasty: chapatti ‘nachos’, cashew ‘cheese’ with beetroot, sincean, watercress gnocchi, beer dipped halloumi with seaweed aioli, fried green tomaten ‘sando’ (the bungalow was incredible) and for dessert kokosreis pudding doughnuts with him. we're carnivores, but we didn't miss the meat. the dining room sections are well designed. the wooden tables are beautiful! look forward to their Sunday tight (68 sunday spread)."

"Our first visit to Griegs and I'm sure it won't be our last. We found the dining room cozy but with space for private conversation. The waiter service was very good without being overlaid. We were both very happy with our selection of dishes, and although the offer included a dessert we were satisfied after two courses. Right at Berkley Square, it was in a convenient location for transport. There is no doubt that it is excellent with its current offer."

"it was a very authentic Greek restaurant inside. very cozy feeling to play in the background Greek music. the starter we shared was very tasty and fast service, while the main parts where very large, full taste and very hot at the arrival on the table. the waitress was very friendly and accommodating to our needs at the table. the only critique I have is that the tables in which the entrance door is very close, so every time the door opened was a bit of a design while we eat, there was a better sitting order for the next time."
