"we have booked last minute, but are really happy that we have done it. the service was friendly and prompt, but not intrusive. the restaurant was very quiet with just a few other tables, so I can't say how it would be when busy. beautiful decor and a varied menu. I had a delicious nasty pot and my partner had steak, both well cooked and good portions. I finished with a Cambridge burning cream and my partner had treacle tart (too sweet for me, but he loved it). grundwein through the glass only a few options for any color, better choice by the bottle. managed to park outside, but places limited. we will definitely return and recommend."

Very pleased with the food and the price wasn't outrageous either.

faster service and excellent eating! was a little disappointed that we only get very small pieces sourdough bread. the most important courses were excellent and sections were what I would expect!

I thought the food was very good and a nice relaxed atmosphere but what made it extra special for us was we actually overstayed the lunchtime opening(unbeknown to us)until The waitress explained and said, not to worry as the manager was coming in to cover. How good a customer service was that and I then enjoyd my cheeseboard, red wine and coffee. So I would definitely recommend this restaurant. View menu

I am unclear why this restaurant has the rating it does on trip advisor. We went for a supper midweek. It was a cold night which might explain that there was only one other table of guests. The waitress was polite. The food was truly awful. We both opted for gnocchi with butternut squash and spinach. The gnocchi was more like burnt pieces of baby potatoes and the rest tasteless. They also did not have enough heating. Avoid at all costs.

I had one because the eyes were on this place and it was not disappointed. so many delicious dishes that complement the menu so well, all very well combined and the atmosphere is beautiful, relaxed and feels hidden. ely they are very happy and I wish I had this before my doorstep. our waiter tyrone was efficient, attentive and only a real nice guy had to leave a small tip! the place gets a

"a great place in ely. I felt instantly from friendly staff who sit in a beautiful table in the corner, I was so perfect on my own to get fucked away, but I had a good look at everything that went on to keep me occupied. the place is not what I would call instagrammble. they will not find young fashionable people here and it is better for it. it is beautifully decorated, crisp and fresh and feels inviting, more like visiting a friendly house than a stuffy restaurant. the visitors are here to enjoy their evenings with good food and friends, not to make pictures for likes. I enjoyed my bratpork with sweetness. very moist with a lot of crispy cracks. also the last of the heavy, which is always a care in the south. a nice choice. my chocolate mousse was amazing, hadn't had one since brunette. the charges too. with a beautiful coffee. the only thing we left was the starter. only a handful of pouched salad with some tiny pieces of goat cheese and two walnuts. there was a vague drizzling of an art dressing. certainly not worth the price, initially very leave. but everything else was wonderful, plus the suppenings I saw going into other tables looked out and tasted tasty. I must mention the break of the evening. I never felt rushed, everyone had a good break in between, but not as long as I wait. I hate these days, how everything is so eager, pure and out. it was nice to relax and enjoy my food and wine. thanks to many for a real culinary experience. Hopefully if I'm in the opposite I'll visit again and friends this time."
