"As someone who loves to eat, I decided to try the takeout pizza from this restaurant one evening. I was pleasantly surprised by the price of £7.99 for a large pizza. The pizza was cooked quickly and perfectly, still hot when I picked it up. The only complaint I have is that it was slightly bland in flavor. However, taste is subjective so others may have a different experience. Overall, I would give it 4 stars for taste. The price of the pizza cannot be beat, so I recommend giving it a try. "probably the worst pizza base I've ever eaten! Yes, the pizza came too late, but at least was hot pissed. it has done so much effort to chew through the bases I have left. "Avoid this place! Spent £40 on an order tonight and it's near enough all went in the bin. I don't understand how you can mess up chips, cheese and gravy but even that was vile! Photos attached are meant to be a large Donner kebab, I can literally count the pieces of Donner on one hand and the pitta bread was stale. £5 on a portion of nachos that are just poorly made with stale tortillas, yet again how can you mess up nachos?! Will never be back. Save your money!!!! Absolute waste of my money.."

"the waitress was helpless – not trained about what is on the menu, not attentive, brought us plates and best for us to put them themselves, with water, etc. eating was overcooked. airline foods taste better. the hostess was cheerful and friendly, but had a little difficulty to locate my reservation (later found out, open table reservations are written manually on a separate sheet paper). the view of the bridge in the night is fantastic, but this is the only good thing the restaurant has to offer. very sad."

"I booked an early table for 6.15, but had walked past earlier and seen the restaurant full now I know why! "The food arrived promptly and was delicious. The wrap was packed with flavorful chicken, fresh vegetables, and a tasty sauce. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. "Came here for a brunch with the girls after finishing University. The drinks are absolutely gorgeous! The food was okay, we had a platter to share, it was nothing special. The pizza was very good. I had a great time here until the waitress was incredibly rude. We added our student discount and she stated we didnt look like students and walked off. We also removed the service charge (to tip in cash) and the women again was incredibly rude and stroppy, said okay purposefully avoiding eye contact and stropped off again. Didnt leave the tip in the end, disgusting attitude. She was very short and rude to us the entire time."

"After a visit to the cinema with friends i decided to choose The Hudson for a late Sunday lunch. The reasons for doing so were twofold. One the last time we were there was pre pandemic and the other one of our party is vegetarian...and the menu on line gave a couple of choices which is much better than some places. On arrival we were given a choice of tables and whilst choosing drinks and food we were offered and accepted a jug of tap water. We choose our drinks which were delivered quickly and the food order was taken by a very friendly and bubbly waitress who helped to make the experience really fun. The portions were very generous and the vegetables very fresh and cooked to perfection. Apparently the vegetarian Thai curry was also very tasty. We would have loved a desert but were all full so we took a break before finishing with another drink. Overall the experience was really good and the staff were all very friendly and engaging. The place is very well appointed and quiet allowing you to have and hear conversations you have at the table, Worth a visit."

"I can't say enough of this little caffe. fresh, clean ingredients, mostly made to home, and other ingredients are fresh made for food that everyone would enjoy. that is really a jewel hidden in the city of edinburgh. I'm so glad we walked on this street and landed in this caffe. if they happen to travel or a local in edinburgh, they do one like and visit this little but beautiful caffe. we had sandwiches with fresh bread and tried their homemade mushroom soup. very delicious! oh, and they also have baked and cake, only for the case that they want to dessert. I also had cappuccino and my wife of the elderflower sparkling water and she loved it."

"I visited today with my wife and we both loved it absolutely! a warm and friendly welcome as soon as they enter with options either a lounge area (where dogs are welcome) or a dining area to sit. there is a large selection of foods, including vegan and gluten-free options. I chose the homemade rindburger (I added halloumi on mine), all perfectly cooked and full of taste. my wife chose the mushroom pate that was also delicious (especially with the onion cutney) along with a very generous and particularly delicious side part of sweet potatoes! there was also a delicious and wide range of really interesting drinks. the two games we chose were “black johannisbeere and Lakritz” and “rhubarb and rosehip”. we were too full to try the gloomy, but they looked amazing and will definitely have to rehearse another time. thank you we will come back!"

"Great service from all the staff (we were served by at least four people) who were sociable and funny. Had the kale salad as was having a detox day, it was amazing and one of the best salads I’ve ever had, with loads of grilled chicken. "I first visited the Old Chain Pier 58 years ago in the hay day of Betty the bamboo spectacled owner). Despite many changes in ownership, the pub has maintained its ambience and charm. My 20 year old granddaughter enjoyed the experience as much as I. Not for nothing is it the favourite luncheon place of my old ex rugby playing contemporaries. Top tip is the Cullen Skink, but followed closely by mussels and fish and chips."

"I went in after hearing it had new owners. Wow, what a difference. Decor is lovely. Staff were really friendly. My daughter enjoyed Mac and cheese while me and my husband had burgers. All our food was lovely. This place is just what Hinckley needed. Great cocktails, lovely and cosy, family friendly that does food but then becomes and evening hotspot. What more could you want. Will definitely be back."
