"After seeing a lot about this restaurant online, myself and my daughter visited yesterday. On arrival we were told to go upstairs and take any seat we were the only ones there), on climbing the stairs we were sitting in a very strong smell from the fryers, not helped by the open windows that kept the smell from lessening, ordered 2 soft drinks from the list, but one wasn't available. We didn't wait too long for our order to be taken, while waiting I could see over the balcony one one of the girls working continuously pick at her hair while standing beside the service counter and fryers. After a wee while the food arrived, I had the battered fish with the twice fried chips, my daughter opting for the sausage, after a small bite of the crispy fish, I had a chip, or should I say........less than Luke warm chip, my daughter dipped a chip in her curry sauce very nice sauce) only to find hers were cold also. I caught the eye of the waitress and asked yo to come to the table, we told her the chips were cold, very apologetically she told us she would get some more. After a while she returned with fresh ones, but by this time we had finished our fish and sausage, but to be honest, the plate the food was served on was cold, .. a basic mistake by putting food that wasn't fully hot on a cold plate wasn't ever going to work. It was a bit disappointing eating hot chips while the cold one were still on the plate , all in all the fish was OK, but, OK only, no more than that, the sausage and curry sauce rated a bit better for my daughter. At £29.90 for the experience..........we weren't overly impressed."

"As summer is fast aproaching the hearty desserts like Jam rolly polly is put to one side and makes why for the lighter while still flavoursome desserts like Crepes and pancakes. I must confess I 'm more of team 'pancake ' than team crepe and for those cynics out there believe me their is a difference. However a certain little Brazilian Creperie may have changed the balance in this regard. Senzala based in the heart of Brixton Market is an inviting small restaraunt with friendly staff and with so many restaurant competing and vying for customers, it is very impressive to see Senzala is always bustling with customers and standing their ground. What is so impressive about Senzala is the options, it can 't be just considered a place you go after a meal for desert, it could easily and most of the time has appealed as a place to go and enjoy a caipirinha or two (which they have a strawberry version, worth a try) and enjoy the many options from tapas to salad to savoury crepes consisting of cheese,Italian sausage and peppers (the godfather) to sweet crepes (sweet sin) grilled banana, Belgian chocolate, splash of rum and ice cream all rolled into one flavoursome dish. With the option of eating inside or out and staff that will tend to your foody whims it most certainly a place to check out. "So I'm on a mission to lose some weight and get healthy, my daughter was adamant she wanted to come here for dessert. We heard it was under new management, so we were a little apprehensive. However, I enjoyed it before, but I used always get a waffle. We walked in, and the new owner was there to greet us. He told me straight away there weren't any waffles available, and to have some would be a half-hour wait. The waffles were the reason we went. I almost walked out of there, but my daughter wanted the ice cream instead. So we were a group of My children made their order and enjoyed it; the youngest one went for that blue ice cream. She enjoyed it but wasn't a fan of bits that were in it. The other three enjoyed their desserts. I thought I'd get a sundae; call it a proper cheat day (I have a lot of them). I got the chocolate sundae, and for once in my life, it was perfect. Not too sweet I felt sick, but just right so I could enjoy it and finish it off. Great value for money, and the customer service was flawless. I told my daughters to go make their orders, but the older were being shy, so when I was sitting on the table asking one of them what they wanted, I repeated it loud enough the owner got the gist of what I was doing, and was in the ball. Really nice desserts, couldn't recommend it enough. Will be back maybe even tomorrow for a waffle. Just gotta watch those calories. Lol."
