"Friendly greeting, excellent service throughout. It’s not often that you get served delicious complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic so it’s a really nice touch. We had a excellent meal and I’d certainly recommend the raspberry cosmopolitan cocktail. We will be back!"

"My wife and I spent several nights at this restaurant over the weekend. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly and were incredibly attentive throughout our stay. The room was beautifully decorated, simple yet stylish, with a large comfortable bed and even a coffee maker so we could enjoy real coffee instead of the usual instant hotel coffee. Although I prefer showers, the free standing bath was so luxurious that I could have soaked in it for hours. The continental breakfast was the perfect start to our day, with cereal, coffee, and fresh croissants that were just the right amount to fuel us for a day of walking without feeling too heavy. The food at the restaurant was outstanding, so much so that we ended up eating there multiple times, even twice in one day. The Sunday roast with all the trimmings was incredible, and the burger I had in the evening was one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend trying their food! Paired with some delicious ales, I never wanted to leave. Unfortunately, we had to but I am already looking forward to planning my next trip back."

"Finding good restaurants can be a challenge, but finding a great one to celebrate at is even harder. I stumbled upon one of the top restaurants in Edinburgh and was not disappointed! The portions were generous, the prices were affordable, and they even had charging ports which are a must-have nowadays. I would have given them 5 stars, but some of the servers were not very nice or attentive. However, I was lucky enough to be served by a very friendly gentleman who went above and beyond for me and the other customers. Overall, I highly recommend Scran and give them a 4 out of 5."

"Wonderful little tardis of an independent wine shop that also serves charcuterie savoury snacks, all the better to accompany the great selection of wines that can be sampled via the prepay card wine machines downstairs. Upstairs provides extra space for the hosted wine tasting sessions that are run throughout the year. Highly recommended, as much for the laid back atmosphere as the knowledgeable and helpful staff. *Update* due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, The Tasting House has gone a step further with its home deliveries we placed another order on Wednesday this week, and received it the same day (with the usual solid packaging, and this time some complementary beers inside the box). "a table for a rare night as a group of four. another group of four were the only other customers. wein order right immediately followed by our food order. 40 minutes later, it was necessary to ask for something more wein, as has not been checked since. after another 25 minutes some of our food arrived, but not all. the salads arrived without dressing so we asked for some. I was offered mayo or pesto dressing for a nikoise, but especially for a French dressing. some more food came followed by some pesto dressing when I was reused for a French dressing was asked what that was?! I excavated some oil balm. a diver escape was served hard with cold kartoffels, so that was sent back and a suppe reordered in the hope, it would be fast, it wasn't. the other table of the customers also had problems, especially the order of sea bass fillets from a whole fish. instead of the cook that took it out of the bone for her, they made her order something else crazy eating waste. the waitress seemed to have only a limited autority when we asked to talk to someone else, said the cook couldn't speak English. she was understandably annoyed that both customers were happy while she was not the most attentive waitress I felt for her that she was left with the training or skills to deal with things. how can a restaurant with the ability to sit about 30, not cope with 8 diners? they annoyed the owners who wanted to come, but a little later we said they couldn't make it. we paid for the two bottles wein left disappointed not back."

"Used Yellow Door's catering and everything was even better than we imagined! Everything was delicious and their staff was wonderful! When we went to this location to organize everything we had tea and coffee and it was great! The staff here was so nice! Highly recommend!"
