"To make matters worse, they only had one type of bottled lager available, and when we tried to order a second round of drinks at 7:45, we were informed there were only four bottles left. By 8pm on a Saturday night, they were out of lager! Had we known this before we ordered our food, we would have left right then.
We requested a whole duck, but were told they only had portions available. We agreed to take five portions, and the waitress confirmed our entire order correctly. While the starters were decent, when the duck arrived, it lacked the accompanying pancakes and was more like half a duck. When we questioned this, the waitress informed us that was all they had left, and it was practically cold.
At this point, one of our group spoke with the manager to express our disappointment. Unfortunately, when the main courses arrived, one dish was wrong and another was missing, despite the waitress having repeated our order. The dishes served were lukewarm at best, and the serving dishes were cold—there was no steam when we lifted the lids.
We decided to leave after this experience. When we spoke to the manager about our complaints, he said he could only reduce our bill to £202. A member of our party provided their contact information for the manager to reach out after considering the situation further, in hopes that a resolution could be found. Ultimately, we left without paying anything. We were informed that they were opening two new restaurants in London, and that budget cuts for the Sheffield location were causing supply issues. Given this experience, we will not be returning."
