"Excellent evening, we sat in the Air Mens Bar, which checked the menu and the wine list about an excellent gin and tonic as we were early. A 3-course menu was presented as it was the festive season. Basic choices of meat, fish and vegetarians, but not an extensive menu, unlike the wine list that has a very good selection. The food was tastefully presented with appropriate portion size, some can say small, but it didn't let you flower. We were served hot nuts and warm bread with 3 types of spread, also the blue cheese was declared delicious and we are not fans of blue cheese. We had tomato gazpacho with sun-dried tomato and the blackened halibut. Cod as a net and also Venison, both cooked to perfection. Soufflé on the desert menu and it is always our choice. Also cooked for perfection. Paired with rose from proven E and a pint noir from the Loire Valley, our choice. Restaurant is very nice, tables are not nearby, piano game from the gallery, attentive service, but not over camp. Restaurant was very busy, but you never felt rushed. Tea and coffee afterwards with some nice fours and a night capsule. A really nice evening. Very recommended"

"We had an excellent evening at the restaurant. We were seated in the airy bar area and enjoyed reviewing the menu and wine list while sipping on a delicious gin and tonic. We were presented with a three-course menu as it was the festive season. The menu offered a good selection of meat, fish, and vegetarian options, although it was not extensive like the impressive wine list. The food was tastefully presented with reasonable portion sizes, some may find them small but they didn't leave us feeling bloated. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm nuts and bread with different spreads, including a delicious blue cheese spread which we enjoyed despite not being fans of blue cheese. We ordered tomato gazpacho with sun-dried tomatoes and blackened halibut for starters, followed by cod and venison for mains, all of which were cooked to perfection. For dessert, we chose the soufflé, which was also perfectly cooked. We paired our meal with a rose from Provence and a pinot noir from the Loire Valley. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere with well-spaced tables and live piano music. The service was attentive but not overbearing, even though the restaurant was busy. We ended the evening with tea, coffee, petit fours, and a nightcap. Overall, it was a lovely evening and we highly recommend this restaurant."

"We arrived at around 4pm and were seated on a bench near the entrance. There were only two other tables with customers. We ordered our drinks and starters, both arrived without delay. Then the evening staff started arriving, they congregated by the door. Their talking and laughter was disruptive, it spoilt the ambience within the restaurant. Our food arrived, it was wonderful, spoilt only by groups of staff standing by the bar, catching up. We ordered one dessert and a coffee, the dessert was delivered to our table. My coffee was then placed on the bar behind the group of staff chatting. It was a couple of minutes before someone turned around and spotted it. It was still warm when it was delivered to me, I would have preferred it hot! Overall, can't fault the food. Staff and service could be improved."

"The main course featured Seafood Biryani basmati rice studded with fish and shrimp, mixed with herbs, spices, and dried fruit and sides of delicious Fish Curry, Coconut with Asparagus and Snow Peas, and Yogurt Sauce. Also on the plate was a deep fried Sesame Okra. The vegetables were surprisingly simple and vibrant, and provided a nice crunchy juxtaposition to all the seafood."

"I enjoyed my birthday dinner in this restaurant. My husband and I were first the only cartridges there and had our choice of a cozy table on the back. The lighting was dim and it was a quiet atmosphere. It was not a typical Michelin Star experience, but the staff was so polite and eager to please that it really made for a beautiful experience. And it took less than a typical Michelin Star experience, although this worked well for our tight schedule (1 1/2 hours). The chef ensured that I had some vegetables with my meal (delicious Spinat! and made a special dessert for me to meet my diet requirements. The texture of the shrimps in the curry bowl was perfect and the part of the rice was on site! The cocktails were fabulous! My last cocktail was brought much later when I had ordered it and asked for the bill, so I had no time to drink it. Although it was taken from the bill, it looked so delicious and so beautiful that I wish I had the opportunity to enjoy it. Everything tasted beautiful, but there were so many strong/hot spices in every dish, overwhelmed the meal that the individual flavors do not experience their potential. "in our favorite restaurant, the chelsea brasserie, in cheltenham, we enjoyed a delicious lunch. eating is always beautifully presented with finish touch, it is always hot and very tasteful. there is an excellent selection of food on the menu and a large wine and cocktail list, it is very good value for money. it is difficult to say which meal we like the best, as it is all delicious, as we have tried almost every item on the menu. the tables are always beautifully laid with white crisp bed linen tablecloths and the atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant, it is always a pleasure to eat here. the service is exceptional and we are always greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly staff sammy, ash, paula and ricardo and a wave from the chef when he emerges from the kitchen. we highly recommend the chelsea brasserie for all qualities, we are happy to go back soon and we hope that they will try this excellent restaurant, they will definitely not be disappointed!"

"The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has a calm relaxing atmosphere to it. We where lucky and it was jazz evening amazing music and singing. The service was top notch nothing was too much trouble and all our needs were catered for. Our 6 year old wanted a kids menu but they didn't have one but chef made him what he wanted spaghetti bolognaise!! The food was Devine and all cooked to perfection, plated beautifully. This is a must go and have a meal place!! Highly recommend it to everyone Can't wait to go back !!!"

"My partner and I went to Pepper for a relaxing dinner during a short holiday break between Christmas and New Year. It was a quiet evening, as it was a Wednesday, with a few larger groups celebrating birthdays. Despite booking a table online, we had plenty of choices for seating. The menu offered some unique dishes that caught our interest. We started with beautifully cooked and presented seafood appetizers. For our main course, my partner ordered the tandoori lamb chops which were plentiful and delicious. I opted for a king prawn dish that was equally tasty. There was a small mix-up with our order, which was taken on a digital device, resulting in a few dishes we didn't request. However, the mistake was quickly rectified with apologies and a complimentary side dish. Overall, we enjoyed a great meal in a delightful restaurant."

"I have eaten here a few years ago and it was nice however this mornings breakfast was really disappointing. There is one breakfast option which was good and alternative milk. There’s 1 main meal option and I think also a pizza. There was barely any food on the plate and took over 45 mins for the food (there were maybe 6 or 7 tables in and 3 waitresses). They had also not had their shipment hence the poor portion size, a few things were also missing off our plate. I think this would’ve been better IF we were told but we weren’t unfortunately. "I ate at this place before and the food was good, so I decided today to dive with my friend for another meal. we found a free table outside and were both smokers (followed) we were happy to stay. the waitress was beginner and this is no problem at all, but there was a problem from the beginning with a wait of 30 minutes to order the food as we arrived between midday and evening meal and from any reason they can not order food orders up to 5:15 so fair enough. we decided not to eat anymore, but to have a coffee and a glass of wine and we were rejected because we couldn't have any alcohol without food, but hey we should wait 30 minutes to eat as we arrived at 4:40. 2 minutes after someone came out of the bar with a posture and told us that we did not have a glass wee without ordering foods, at least a part of fries, and “By the way, you can’t smoke that here!” we sat outside in the garden. Oh no, that's the law since when?! really?! what is this job miss?! first the story with the drink and after the vapore? no thanks! we decided to leave....not a nice setting from the first step in to the last step out....If you decide to treat the customers so, then I am not asking why the restaurant was empty on a sunny Saturday afternoon so."

"SHOCKING TREATMENT Booked table for 6.45, arrived and Bistro empty. Ordered our drinks from the bar and told a man behind the bar that we had booked a table for 6.45. He said that we had not booked as not on the list. And even if we had there was a coach party in the restaurant and there was a 60 minute wait before we could order any food as tge kitchen was very busy. He went to the office to check if we had booked and in the meantime I showed him the email confirmation. When eventually he found our booking he said we should have been told there was a wait for food. We found the staff to be rude and not abit helpful so we left and went elsewhere. When we booked there were many time slots available to us. Obviously they give priority to coach parties over the Bistro and can not cope with catering for both. I did email the hotel and they basically said they do cater for coach parties before other people in their restaurant and bistro. Would never go there again."

"We visited today, after previously visiting before, I have to say I was a little disappointed that the menu was majority fish especially with the starters Im not a big fish eater! There was very little option for non fish lovers as a starter except gazpacho soup. Before we even were seated we were kept waiting for 10 minutes to be sat down as a table was making 4 different payments in front of us. When we did eventually sit down the table was incredibly sticky, and despite being asked to be cleaned it needed a deeper clean than that. Food was fairly good, bit disappointed with the chicken burger and the roast the staff were helpful though. You could definitely tell they were short staffed."

"The food was amazing but the service really let them down. They brought out our main course over an hour after being there , and the biggest problem was we hadn't had our starter!! So main course taken away and had to wait another 20 mins for starter! They then brought out 4 starters and one of them should have been vegetarian!! We then had to wait for the vegetarian starter to be made!! Such a shame as could of been a really great night!!"

"The food was great (had a very lovely afternoon tea) but unfortunately the service was poor; although polite when speaking to us the service staff pretty much ignored us once we had ordered our food. My friend and I wanted to order another hot drink but had to wait 45 minutes for someone to take our order (despite attempting to get someone’s attention several times) and then again when wanting to get the bill it took standing up and putting our coats on after another long time waiting (and asking several people) to actually get the bill. "Absolutely awful!. So my boss is going off on maternity leave and we decide to have lunch for 10 at Plateau on a £15 deal for 3 courses which sounded like good value. Our booking was at 1pm and we arrived to have a choice of 3 starters 2 of which were salad and 1 soup and 3 mains. We were told on arrival they had run out of steak despite our booking being at lunch time so I decided to have a salad as a main instead! the starter arrive and the salads were not looking fresh! "It’s a shame as about 4 weeks, I had an amazing, faultless meal here but today the service let it down and the Roast Beef! We had to ask each time when we wanted our orders taken, had to go to the bar to order drinks as had been sitting down waiting for 20 minutes. Service was friendly when we did get served but it was very slap and dash. The roast beef which is meant to be served pink was not pink and was overdone, extremely chewy and was impossible to cut with the knife. They had run out of stuffing too. The desserts on the other hand were great. Quite disappointing overall though today, I have to say. Particularly for the price you pay…today it was a let down and I don’t think I will be back in a hurry."
