"We should have read the reviews before we came then perhaps we wouldn’t have come! The cocktails were lovely but sadly that is the only good thing to say about our experience. The staff with the exception of the manager were bored and had no clue what was going on, service was really slow and they acted like they’d rather be anywhere else but there and food was rubbish, cold and over priced! We were a party of 6 and the first meal came out a good 30 mins before the last meal which was then cold, when we queried this we were told it was because it’s Tapas! It’s literally pizza and tacos, my teenage kids could cook for 6 and make it be ready at the same time!! We were celebrating 2 birthdays, I’d dropped a cake off before arriving but they didn’t bring that, a celebration they sucked the life out. If you want a nice adult meal this is not the place for you, if you want cold food with bored slow staff and rubbish food this is the place for you so book now!!"

"We popped in on a Sunday after some shopping. Coffee shops in the area were packed, no tables busy but we needed a respite after some shopping with our 11 month old baby. We stood at the door waiting to be seated which felt like an eternity. When we got in with our baby who was sleeping in the pram we were told that there was nowhere to pop the pram while he was sleeping but he could be popped in a highchair no problem at all. No checking how old he was etc (he was under his rain over not visible) what if I needed to breastfeed once he woke up? Or if he was a newborn the parents just wanted a bite to eat? There was adequate space for a pushchair, fancy turning away a family with a sleeping child. While I completely understand that you don’t wish to place a child next to friends couples dining out it’s a little unfair to turn away people on the basis of what are your restaurant regulations or whatever you want to call it do what’s morally right surely? Anyway the host was lucky our child decided to wake up at that moment because we were about to walk away considering the rather unwelcome greeting. We were hungry. Once we were seated it was all great from there. They managed to get a £50 lunch out of us! Myself my partner had black blue burgers which were cooked lovely came out within 10 mins of ordering. Our waitress was really lovely very friendly toward us smiley at our baby. Our baby had fish goujons with veggies fruit chocolate pot for dessert. He thoroughly enjoyed it. The highchair was a bit low for such a small baby so would be better if they got some with trays to avoid mess help out baby eat be more supported but he was excited either way. The high hairs were definitely more suitable to toddlers as opposed to infants. Generally a friendly service once we were there felt full satisfied so thank you to the lovely waitress for changing our experience. Just a quick fyi to the restaurant in general not all babies are loud cry. If your younger clientele aren’t happy with children in the middle of the day then maybe they shouldn’t be popping into a family restaurant?"

"Came into a busy ish restaurant, went to the bar to get a drink while we waited for our table. Sat at the bar, looked at the drinks menus and the barman completely ignored us. We had to say excuse me can we order some drinks? The guy didn't smile, or even speak he just stood there waiting for out order. I ordered a glass of wine the glass was filthy!You could see the smeared lipstick all round the rim, bits on the glass, and it was wet. REVOLTING! I asked for another glass and showed him how disgusting the glass was, and he poured my wine into another disgusting glass! The manager came to the bar at this point, and I said to her Do you think I could have a clean glass for my wine, I have had two gross ones so far! She hand washed a clean glass.My friends glasses were not clean either.We were sat, and our order was taken by a very cocky waiter.Our food arrived, and we asked where the slaw was which was on 3 of our orders. We were told there wasn't any! What the HELL????!!! You tell the customer that when they order, not when you put the food down! What a joke! AVOID AT ALL COSTS ! I think it is a great idea if the company that owns Frankie and Benny's shuts them all down they a disgrace to your company."

"Took a while for staff to come over and serve us. However once we caught their attention, the waitress was helpful with our order. They have an offer on for starters and a cocktail pitcher. The space is cosy, warm and welcoming and ideal for a catch up with friends. Only table service is allowed and cannot order at the bar due to COVID restrictions. Staff wore masks and seating was socially distanced."

"The restaurant has a clean atmosphere, with quick service and friendly staff. There is a vast selection to choose from on the menu. "Me and my husband took our 2 children down The Bull for lunch a few Saturdays ago. Excellent for the kids as have play area, children's booths and had a bouncy castle that particular weekend. Love how accommodating they are for children.... slush puppies, popcorn, mocktails, icecream, fab kids menu etc. We had a nice bit of food too, love the summer grill menu. Place was well maintained and clean. Staff were very friendly. Bit of a wait at the outdoor bar but what do you expect on a Saturday when the weather is lovely! Will be returning soon, thank you for a great afternoon!!!"

"Just wanted to write this review so that others may consider alternative venue when they are faced with the choice at a very difficult and sad time. This hotel gets plenty of business from nearby funeral directors I assume because of is location but they are uncompassionate, unprofessional and unconcerned about your experience. When we arrived after leaving the funeral directors to book the reception I stood waiting for a period of time to be attended to. Eventually an employee on his break went through and got a staff member. She had me stand at the reception, recite details showing no empathy for our situation, when booking my father in laws at the Seamill Hydro we were sat away from the reception and treated in a caring way. When we arrived at the time booked after the funeral we stood at the reception for a period of time before being shown through. No offer of condolences offered. As for the drinks on arrival, we waited a good 10 minutes before any orders taken missing out 4 guests. Eventually food came out slowly. We were given one coffee/tea and the staff left. We tried to find staff to see if we could have more coffee and order more drinks but staff found not be found. I had over estimated the number of people who attended but even though we paid for food for more people my guests were not offered anymore sandwiches, sausage rolls etc. When settling the bill I was of course charged for the food/drinks that never appeared and was not asked if everything was ok. A basic courtesies in the hospitality business. Please consider alternatives before booking here, it is easy money for them and they do not care n anyway about the customer. I contacted the Lynnhurst Hotel 3 days ago and unsurprisingly they have not responded."

"Burger was very expensive considering it was overworked, probably used a burger press to make it since the meat was dense and rubbery. The onion rings on the burger didn't have the film removed so were chewy instead of having a nice bite and there was only one sad and floppy piece of bacon on it. Chilli cheese fries were decent however the fries were too thin and not crisp enough to hold up to the chilli so were soggy and floppy as soon as they reached the table. Usually I wouldn't rate this badly but the price is unacceptable for what seems to be very inexperienced chefs producing sub-par meals. Had the burgers been £8-9 each or included fries it would be a different story but burgers and fries costing me an arm and a leg then being below average is not ok. The waitress however was lovely, she was very good at answering questions about the food and was well mannered. She also served us promptly and made sure to only check in with us on the quality of the meal when we weren't in the middle of eating. Overall well the service was excellent the food was an extreme let down. Especially for such a well reviewed place. I wouldn't suggest anyone go here and instead would suggest to go to a similarly priced place such as bucks bar or thundercat which serve better American styled food at around the same price point."

"I will not be going back here if I’m paid. Besides the fact they’ve taken almost all of the vegan options off, there’s a curry and fajita, which isn’t really a fajita it’s a reheated sloppy wrap! I know this because when asking about allergens or if I can take stuff out I was told it was all premade. I asked for a gluten free wrap as it was part of the option and was given a regular wrap and told about that after I had began eating it! I made my allergies very clear and the waitress tried her very best and was lovely but it seemed the kitchen staff really didn’t have a clue and something in my food set off a reaction even though I’d checked and there shouldn’t have been anything in especially since this meal was meant to be vegan (my main allergy is milk)... On top of this, the lady who came over to assist was extremely rude and insisted if I didn’t need to go to hospital it didn’t really make any difference and it wasn’t their fault so they wouldn’t do anything! Reluctantly she refunded me and said “here you go Madame if your money will make you feel better take it we obviously don’t cater to the likes of you” utterly appalled. "I popped into Leo's Kitchen with my mum. We've been there happily many times before. This time the food was mediocre and the service not good. There were only ever 4 tables occupied but they were doing a roaring trade in takeaways which seemed to take priority. We waited an eternity for everything and they forgot our water and cutlery. The water jug was not very clean which I mentioned as we were paying (though not all the other gripes). The waitress told us if it was that bad then don't come back again! I can't tell you how fast our cash tip went from the table into my handbag. I am more than happy never to darken their unwelcoming door again and to positively not recommend them going forward."

"We booked a table for 4 for 7.30pm, arrived 7.25 and it took 20 mins. to get severed for drinks. It got worse! We were finally shown to the table of a 20% full restaurant and 25mins later finally had the head waiter ask if he could take our order...with an attitude as if he was doing us a favour... We were so put off by the dirty, 'sticky ' tables and v slow service we told the waiter we were leaving, paid for our drinks and left. Never again will we go back!"

"We were a group of 12 and this was one of the few places that could accommodate us and reserved our table as well. Staff were very polite, professional, well mannered and not pushy in trying to get us to order more than we needed. Food was made quickly, presented well, was hot and tasted delicious too. The lighting is a bit dim, but sufficient for the atmosphere I believe. Staff were also considerate and ensured all sauces, plates, cutlery etc were on the table before the food and they got a few extra plates for us as we had said that we would be sharing some of the dishes. Overall really impressed. Also, the toilet was clean and well maintained. I really loved the table as it looked like it was made from the truck of a tree! Keep up the good work."
