"EDIT They did change it to a bolognaise wen I phoned but I still wouldn’t eat out here again. Ordered a pepperoni pizza and a portion of macaroni cheese, pizza was undercooked and the macaroni cheese was as if it was made with powdered milk as the colour looked like it hadn’t seen a block of cheese! Phoned back and they’ve told me that they have had to change the ingredients, Ingredients definitely taste cheaper so it’s not up to standards for the prices they charge, shame because used to eat out here regularly but it’s went ryt downhill n al not be back"

"Booked to come here to celebrate my Birthday with family. Have to admit, I haven't visited here since before 2019, my expectations were exceeded. They were most accommodating, due to the fact that some of my family members sadly became ill, so could not attend, however after informing Fiume, they were most gracious adjusted our table dinning requirements accordingly. The restaurant was very busy, however, that certainly didn't detract from the excellent attentive service that we received. From our starters of Crespella Ai Funghi E Salsiccia, to our mains of whole Seabass Flambe Di Gamberi, our food was superb, along with the very attentive waitress that looked after our table for our food drinks. It was quite a night, due to the fact that there must have been at least 6 other Birthday parties celebrating there, which was unusual to experience so many, . . just shows what a popular Italian Restaurant this really is. Thank You to all the staff chefs Fiume Italian Bar Restaurant, for making my Birthday celebrations an evening to remember. We'll definitely be back very soon."

"Having been an occasional but regular patron of S&P for over 40 years, I was disappointed to find that the familiar team had disappeared. My disappointment gave way to horror when I saw the menu prices, many of which appeared to have doubled since my 2022 visit ….. most disappointing of all, the dishes I chose were less well prepared than they had been before. On the positive side, the welcome from all staff, and the new maitre D, was warm and charming. The streetside terrace was nicely presented and most inviting. And we much appreciated a carafe of limoncello offered to finish our meal. Still have affection for the old place, but in my new retired status at these prices I shall have to think twice about a future visit. A special two or three course lunch price (not offered) may well have made the difference…"

"Our visit didn’t start out so well as we struggled to find the entrance! Some better signage would be good, especially as the doors aren’t marked and look more like a goods entrance! We were seated right opposite one set of doors and since they were automated we were blasted with cold air for a while each time someone came in or left. We thought it wasn’t worth asking to move since it was busy and now where better to put us, and that things would settle once the lunch covers were all in, but then people started cutting through to use the restaurant as a short cut to get into the hotel! This just spoiled the ambience for us as we were cold and ended up watching the door. The staff were however lovely and the food and drinks great. I realised afterwards that my main was listed on the menu (in its title) as having walnuts with it, but I didn’t get any with my dish so that was a shame (I’d have mentioned if I’d realised at the time). The Jerusalem artichoke soup, ricotta and truffle ravioli, and olive oil martini were our highlights, and we’d recommend."

"I’ve been to Giovanni’s three times in the space of three days only because the Capricciosa Pizza was SO delicious, and I wanted to have it again!! On the third night I had the parmigiana di melanzane, and it was fabulous as well. My partner had the minestrone soup and spaghetti bolognese, and he was equally impressed. The food is really very good, and the service is impressive. Especially if you’re lucky enough to have Izzy as your waitress, you’re in luck! She will look after you and make sure that you have the most delightful dining experience. Whenever I return to Knutsford, I will ensure to eat here again!! "The wait to place our order was quite long, and it took even longer for our food to arrive. We ordered a shared starter, which came along with the two main courses. After we paid and were about to leave the restaurant, staff approached us to see if we wanted to charge the meal to our room card—this felt quite intrusive. To add to our disappointment, a service fee of £7.50 was added automatically to our bill. On a positive note, the food was good, and the staff were friendly and humble."

"The food was beautifully presented, as always. Our starter arrived at the right time, but we experienced a nearly 25-minute wait for our main course, and no explanation was given for the delay. Larger tables of four were served their starters, mains, and desserts after we had our starter but before we received our main dish. We didn’t receive any updates during this time. While the restaurant was busy (which is great for them given the current climate), there were moments when social distancing wasn’t maintained, making it feel a bit cramped. I will return because I enjoy the restaurant and the food, but it's clear that some improvements are needed to ensure that the focus on profit doesn’t compromise good service, as well as the safety and comfort of both staff and customers."

We went for a quick lunch during our lunch hour, but ended up waiting 20 minutes just for our drinks, leaving us with only 15 minutes to eat our meal. "We visited on Saturday, the night before the marathon. We booked a table. Came in, seen it was busy, so thought this is going to be good. We were seated late which was fine, no problem. We sat next to another couple, (tables were close) we ordered some drinks then our meal. Drinks arrived on our table, weren’t ours, it was the next table. We waited an hour for our starters, tables were coming in and getting served. A table of 6/8 came in and got their starter and mains before us. There was a lot of cross words at the boy in the hair band which I thought he was doing all the work and was very kind if I am honest. Garlic bread came was so dry. They kept going by saying have you eaten? Have you ordered? Have you had mains? Our mains came out an hour later and they didn’t know who it was for. The table next to us actually had to point out it was our food they heard our order. Being a restaurant manager I would like to say… 1. Don’t argue or talk to staff badly, anywhere, but especially not on the floor, I actually think it was maybe husband and wife, it’s not good in front of customers and I know it’s hard and frustrating work, but I don’t even think any of the customers were being rude, the people I heard ask where food was were all being polite. 2. We understand it was busy and every business needs money but don’t take in more people than you should. 3. When you sneeze please do it into your arm and not your hands then don’t wash them, I genuinely couldn’t believe it, hygiene is huge, especially in catering. I’m genuinely shocked I still ate my food after the person touched my plate later on. as they didn’t go anywhere near a sink or a sanitizer. Our mains were lovely. I hope the famous athlete who was in the restaurant at the same time got his food on time and amazing service. But, I do genuinely believe on a normal busy night this restaurant would be fine, just a few tweaks needed. 2 stars lost due to my hygiene comment and how they were openly arguing with one another."

"I had made a reservation for a birthday dinner for six people on a Thursday evening, only to arrive and find the restaurant closed due to some issue with the kitchens. There was no one available to speak to, just a note on the door. I was disappointed that they didn't contact me by email to inform me of the closure, as it would have saved us the trip. "We ate here as a family on Saturday July There were adults, one five year old and a baby. The restaurant is our local, just down the road so we know it well It has a nice family atmosphere, busy but not noisy, and friendly. The staff are attentive and cheerful but not pushy. The service is good, even when busy. The owner is very hands on and greets everyone. We chose the rioja wine which was gorgeous. The house wines are good too from past experience. The starters, pizzas and pasta are excellent and good value. Tasty and well cooked. In comparison the mains and specials can be overpriced and the portions quite small, although flavoursome. Two of our party had them and were a bit disappointed. Our pizza, the Anacapri, unusually,was a bit lack lustre, undercooked and not very tasty. Usually they are really good. However it didn’t spoil our evening and we all enjoyed it, especially the children. Nobody minds them walking about and they get special attention."
