"The food was good but not filling. For the price it was not good value. Also, my guest was annoyed about the waiter being too over bearing. If you have money to burn then this is the place still feel hungry. There are better value venues"

"The brunch at this restaurant is excellent and I would recommend it for large groups or if you are looking to catch up with a friend you haven't seen in a while. It's a nice place to enjoy a great dining experience."

"This restaurant review is about the worst service the reviewer has ever experienced. They had made a reservation for the pre-theatre menu, which they had enjoyed at the Charlotte Street branch before. Despite being told by the reservation team that moving their table to 6.30pm would still allow them to have the pre-theatre menu, they were initially told by a waiter and the assistant manager that they could not have it. After some back and forth, they were eventually allowed to order from the menu. However, all the food came out at once except for the final course. When the reviewer's chicken dish arrived without the rice, they had to call over the waiter to address the issue. The salmon dish ordered by the reviewer's husband was overcooked and had to be sent back to the kitchen. To the reviewer's dismay, the same piece of chicken was brought back to them after being reheated, along with the cold rice from earlier. Throughout the meal, they felt judged for ordering from the pre-theatre menu, which left a sour taste in their mouth. They ultimately decided they would not return to Roka and would instead go back to Nobu, which they found to be far superior in every aspect."

"Unfortunately, my papaya salad was certainly not freshly prepared.... the tomatoes were soaky and also the fresh salad vegetables with gum-like bite also the dressing was not pikant. The chicken with vegetables and cashew nuts was all right from the general taste, but also the meat appeared to me with a taste, as warmed up. My companions had more luck with pasta dishes and spring rolls. But I will no longer come through this bad luck. If I pay about 50 € for two bottles of water, an appetizer and a main dish, I expect a better quality. The service was extremely friendly!"

"I'd booked a table believing a warm Saturday lunchtime to be prime for a place with such good reviews, but needn't have bothered. Whilst the Terrace out on the piazza was brimming with diners, we were pointed downstairs to the rather empty and tired-looking restaurant for our table That was fit for one, not two. Next to a brick wall. After being unceremoniously moved, we were given the rather concise wine list. With only two roses on the list one sweet and the other too old a vintage to be worth drinking we were pushed to the whites and chose a trusty bottle of Pinot Grigio. Which came out warm. Attempts to switch it for a cold bottle were futile but we were given a cooler filled...read more"

"We were travelling from London for a night in Weston, and were so disappointed with food choices in Weston Super Mare. And then we came across Ebisu. It’s a small Japanese restaurant hidden away on Regent street. It was Saturday evening and we wanted an early dinner, luckily there was a table for two available for us. Restaurant is small, and tables become hard to come by as most are reserved in advance. Decor is tastily minimalistic, simple and clean, we loved hand painted wallpaper. We ordered Chicken Karaage and Ebisu cauliflower to wake up our taste buds, and Salmon donburi and Crispy potato Katsu for our mains. Many Japanese restaurants make compromises, this one didn’t. Food was superb and authentic, portions were generous, each served fresh slaw of daikon and carrot or salad leaves, each bite you took was superbly flavoursome. We were particularly impressed with Ebisu Cauliflower. We can honestly say that this one is one of best Japanese we have eaten for a long time. If you love Japanese food, this one is for you, do book in advance. We will be back."

"We went to celebrate my boyfriend birthday. Food was alright but service wasn’t great. Waitress forgot to send one of our main course and we had to ask few times where is our food, eventually arranged when we all finished our main courses. Also some of the starters arrived but we didn’t order them and later on they were added on our bill. No apology or whatsoever, I wouldn’t go back there again even though venue it’s really nice and if the waitress would be nicer to us I’m sure we could have better experience."

"This Japanese restaurant serves delicious food! I have visited multiple times and have always been satisfied. The service is excellent and the dishes are wonderful. We tried the vegetable ramen and salmon bento, both of which were not only generous in portion size but also incredibly affordable. The food arrived at our table within 10 minutes of ordering, and we were impressed by the efficiency. Our bill came to around 40 pounds for dinner for two, including drinks. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of quick and delicious Japanese cuisine."

"My husband and I have visited Kami at least half a dozen times for lunch over the past few months, and every time the food and service has been simply outstanding. They have a superb sushi chef who makes absolutely delicious bento boxes in which everything is freshly made. I'm not given to rating a place so highly, but the quality of the tuna in the sashimi bento box is consistently superb. Everything is freshly made: their gyoza are splendid, the tempura is exactly how I like it, and the rice is cooked perfectly. It is no surprise to me that couriers arrive to ta collect orders placed by people working from home. They also serve a range of beers, and my favourite, which is hot sake. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and I've been meaning to write this review for some time."

"I have a lot of the taro restaurant, its terrace is beautiful, similar in barcelona have nothing to envy. but despite being one of the most glamorous restaurants I think in barcelona there are many like the one I said before they offer for very cheap prices high quality menus, if you look at the traditional menu of perpicar has tremendous tapas and Japanese combinations!"

"First the good part: location is nice and the food was really excellent, compliments to the kitchen. Now the bad part: probably the worst service we have ever experienced. Extremely rude staff, after sitting there for 1 hour with only 1 drink we asked if we could order and got answered well I only have two hands and we have problems today . On top of that I had booked for a birthday, which I clearly mentioned at booking, and it was completelly ignored. Throughout the evening we were treated disrespectfuly, rude answers, very long waiting times and just overall very unpleasant to the point we couldnt wait to leave. On top of that the atmosphere is not very inviting, no music and just overall uncomfortable. There are way better places in the same area like Meerbar for example, would not recommend this restaurant to anyone (even the good food is not worth the aweful experience)."

"!!!!!!!!!!AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! £27 for a stone cold kebab that took 1.5 hours to come. Staff are awful in the shop, super rude and hung up the phone to me. Manager Barrish ‘doesn’t speak English’. Whilst on the phone to the kebab shop I heard in the background lots of shouting and swearing until the poor boy who answers the phone was ordered to shut the phone down. Cheesy chips and kebabs with two drinks for £27! Driver isn’t on their books either. Don’t waste your time or money. Thrown straight in the bin. Worst experience ever."

"We had a 6pm booking and service started approximately 6:25. Our server was very nice, professional and quick after a delayed start. The food was very good, and we enjoyed both the food and service. After a very nice meal with a variety of starters, sushi, maki, we were ready to consider dessert. At 7:30pm, a different server came to our table and told us that we had to leave because they had another booking for our table. This was after they had just seated another party of 4 without a booking at the table next to ours. The server was extremely rude and unprofessional. There was no notice about a 90 minute time period prior. After spending £227 on our bill we were made to feel unwelcome and were hurried out the door. Even though the food was good, and we live locally in Richmond, we will never return after this experience. As a family of four people, to be told to leave technically after an hour of service is absurd. They will not be successful if the unprofessional service and attitude continues. Really unfortunate and bad experience."

"I visited this restaurant based on the very good reviews. The older male waiter with the short hair was so rude! We kindly asked if we could be seated on another table as the restaurant was empty but had us seated besides the staff table and another couple during covid19. He responded you are 2, not 6. We didn 't complain that we wanted a bigger table, just another table to be more socially distanced. Funnily enough there were 2 women seated on a table for 6 so I 'm not sure why he let them sit on a table for 6 but wouldn 't allow this same treatment for us. We told him this wasn 't an issue and we would stay seated. He then complained to another staff that we wanted another table. She kindly offered us another table but once again we assured him that we were fine with where we were seated. He continued to speak to us rudely throughout the evening. We spent £100 and spent less than 40 minutes in the restaurant because of how uncomfortable this waiter made us feel. Food was decent but the wagyu beef was overpriced and what tasted like cheap meat would rather spend £50+ on a good steak somewhere. The grilled eel was lovely and can 't be faulted. If you want good Japanese food there are plenty of good spots in the Soho area. This restaurant wasn 't busy on a Saturday evening but we still had the most appalling service."

"We went after their great renovation and the ambience is good for one night in a quiet yet lively restaurant. However, given the situation not central London compared to all other many other Japanese restaurants I was, the prices are too high. I pay less for everything in an authentic Japanese restaurant in central locations. Sushi quality is great with thick and fresh cuts and good decoration and good selection of menu for the size of the kitchen. A dish that I do not enjoy was my favorite grilled egg on rice, the size of the aal was 1/3 of the normal size for the price of £18, as the aal prices have decreased little in recent years. For this reason I gave 2 star of 5 for value. If you are looking for great sushi in Kentish Town, there is no other place, so I recommend if you are a local Japanese fan."

"BUYER BEWARE !My wife and I visited here 5 times in last 12 years or so. This was a disappointing experience. I mentioned about chopsticks, and the waiting Japanese woman got cross and asserted they were the only ones i would get. they were throwaway cheap chopsticks, okay there were not plastic chinese style but even so this is a very expensive restaurant and the rice was tasteless all she said was oh the sushi rice is in the 'hidden menu ' LOL, a bit childish) , food all arrived at once, CHAOS. We know it has struggled with differing management, and so it shows. Dear diner, you ought to be aware of all of this. Izakaya in Japan is meant to be more fun, lower prices this is really pricey place. I know the location etc., but still. The other two waiters worked hard. NIhonshu was 8/10 a nice tasting sake for sort of okay price. It wasnt all dreadful: at least they looked after my wifes ' complicated allergies, that was correct. Fine. BUT, Fellow diners , avoid this place and do your research, It is too expensive for what it is. We will try Korean next time. And we will never return here. Maybe Saturday is not the best day here. May be. But dont make that your problem, paying diner) haha !"

"My friend and I went to Sushisamba in the past months and I would like to share my brief comments about the dine in experience. • They restrict us 120 minutes dining time (when they served slowly on certain dishes, you would need to rushing quickly to finish it before they could serve you on other dishes). Waiter kept checking on us and asked us to finish the last piece of plate so that he could clear it ! • Music is too loud, therefore people are talking loud too. Really noisy! • Some of the table can't enjoy any view, probably facing entrance or kitchen. If you need to good view, please be more specific to request it. However even we have requested a good view, but they still unable to promise it. • We booked taste of Sumba £100 each person comes with 3 courses. The staff will be delivered all starter come in one go when your table is too small to place all the foods, and you might worry the place will falls onto floor and dine very carefully ! •Can't believe that you paid about £100 per person but you will use disposal chopsticks ! • When the staff clear up the plate, he used a dirty and smelly cloth to clean the table, and you would felt disgusting smell stay on the table and made us felt really unpleasant to stay longer to sit there! We should have asked him to clean it again but he looks not friendly to us. • There are some outdoor table and you may take some photos of London • Average foods and drinks Foods but Green bean tempura, shrimps tempura and black cod taste was good. Overall we had not a great dining experience for the price and service we paid, we had been forced to eat faster !! They are many awesome restaurants with good foods as well as fantastic service plus fantastic view, Honestly I would not recommend any of friends to go Sushisamba, sorry ! !"

"Took me a while to track down this little gem but I'm glad I went to the effort. The gyoza, pork kakuni and rainbow roll were morsels of deliciousness but the main attraction was the ramen! I had the Hell Ramen and blondey had the Yokohama.. both bowls were brimming with noodles had generous slices of pork, half a boiled egg, bamboo and nori sheets. The yokohama broth had a slight sweetness to it and the hell broth definitely had a kick! I finished the meal with daifuku mochi.. ice cream wrapped in mochi skin.. both the yuzu and coconut flavours were great. Service was ok, just not intuitive, you pretty much have to ask for everything you want. Also, at £14 for a bowl of ramen, it's slightly too pricey to make it a habit!"
