"I have lived in Surbiton for 9 years, but I rarely visit this Costa branch. Today, I decided to treat my young daughter to hot chocolate. We sat on the two high chairs by the front window. Unfortunately, the table had not been cleared from the previous customers, so I had to call one of the staff members to remove the cups and wipe the table. The staff member wiped the table with a dirty-looking cloth while chatting with another employee, and crumbs ended up on my daughter. When our order arrived, one of the spoons was dirty with leftover coffee/chocolate residue. I requested a clean spoon, but did not receive even a simple apology. As we sat there, I noticed that the windows were dirty on the outside, and not much improved when I wiped them with a tissue on the inside. There was a bin full of rubbish behind my chair, and the overall atmosphere was unpleasant. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this Costa branch."
