"Amazing. Didn't look very promising from the outside but it was warm and welcoming. Staff were attentive and nothing was any trouble. Special grilled Plaice was HUGE and so yummy with chips and peas and home made tartare. I felt obliged to further test the menu with a choice of ice creams, not the standard fayre. Mum loved her ham egg and chips and we will most definitely come again if not just to say hello to the lovely black lab who said hello to everyone. Marvellous."

"I visited this restaurant on Saturday (27/10/18) for brunch with my partner. We were very excited as the reviews were quite good. Overall the food was ok, but not amazing, and there were barely any options for people who do not like spicy food. The real problem came when I ordered a coffee and found a hair, floating in it. This was incredibly off putting. I realise that things like this happen but, although, the staff were apologetic, I was given a replacement coffee which I then still had to pay for. I think that good customer service would have taken the coffee off the bill or would have at least offered to do so. There are too many brunch places in London to risk going to this one and not being offered proper customer service. I have had lesser issues at other venues and have been treated much better. Not worth the money."

"Warning to any one. Went there today for lunch ... what a mistake... I will definitely not be back. Wine list not great, prices for bottles very Food tasteless to average Waitress not very attentive Had to ask her times that we are ready for a drink When asked her that we are ready for an order she just said I will be back but too a long time to come and take our order Had to basically yell out to her to get a refill of my drink When coming to pay the bill was shocked to see a service charge ... I asked the manager to please remove the service charge as I felt the service was unreasonable he just said no he was not going to removed the charge It is illegal to charge a service charge if the customer felt that the service was unreasonable, we really did order a lot and on the dim Sum menu I did not see a service charge note. After embarrassing me and made me feel uncomfortable I just paid the charge and left."

"We had a pleasant table and the service was quick and efficient. However, the standout of our experience was the food. My partner really enjoyed her slow-cooked shoulder of lamb shepherd's pie, and my sirloin steak may have been the best I've ever had. The mushrooms were also excellent. It seems like The Bells has a new manager and chef, and it definitely made a positive impact. The only downside was the limited selection of starters, but we opted to skip that and have dessert instead, which was delicious."

"Visited this place a couple of times. Liked it every time. The food is good, and the brownie that I took was stunning. I ordered a burger and some onion rings which were amazing, though I'm questioning as to how the onion rings were cooked. The onion rings that I took as a side were the best I ever had, the onion rings on my burger were greasy and soggy, so I don't know how they make the onion rings so that they're different in taste, but it's fine. 10/10, coming back, would definitely recommend. Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian options, some vegan options. You can even ask them for some dishes to make them vegan."

"If you put on offers like 50% off mains to get people in with the hopes that they will rebook at full price then you need to expect that you will be busy and provide extra staff to cope with the workload! There were 6 in my party for my Mums birthday. We sat down at 7 and 2 ordered starters and we all ordered mains (1 of which was unavailable). The mozzarella was tasteless but squid was good. The mains didn’t arrive until 8.30. 3 ordered pork belly. 1 portion was fine and looked like I have had before. The other 2 looked as though one portion had been shared between 2 people. The potatoes had been separated to make it look like there was more on the plate and the pork was just over a centimetre thick and was obviously the end of the piece of meat as it was hard and dry. Also one person received the jus and two others had a gravy. No one came to ask if everything was ok and I didn’t want to make a fuss and ruin my Mums birthday but I did mention it when I paid. I have got a photo of one dinner. Service was so slow and we weren’t offered more drinks. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to front door"

"Excellent, the menu is really interesting, I have no idea what I had except it was really good, a pork and cabbage soup which was exceptional. Look good tasted even better. The Cactus salad was a first for me too. That too was great. The Guava soda was good. The four of us ate very well. Service was good as the place was rammed 24hrs until Lockdown 2.0. Oh and all the anti-covid precautions were done well."

"Not overwhelming but a nice traditional pub. Cozy inside sitting outside. Food is pretty average (average taste, plain steamed veg etc). Leaving this review because I haven't seen a menu with so few vegetarian and vegan options in years quite poor in 2023. The menu is quite large but almost everything is meat or fish. Only vegetarian options are baked camembert (starter) or Mac cheese (main). Only vegan option is olives (starter). This also doesn't cater for anyone with lactose intolerance etc either so was not ideal."

"We celebrated my birthday dinner while in Newport, and it was fantastic! My partner accidentally ordered the kirsch garlic bread and wobbly rings alongside our main courses, and we were both shocked at the portion sizes when our meals arrived. I didn't finish my main dish because I wanted to save room for dessert, which was also delightful! The service was quick, even with all the food we had."

"Have eaten here a few times before and had great meals and service. Went for Sunday Dinner today. Ordered starters soup came out cold. They took it back and it took an age for a new one. Waited nearly an hour for the mains after having to ask where they were. Mains had frozen roast potatoes which were hard and cold in the middle. Meat was full of gristle. Carrots were rock hard, yorkshire pudding burnt on the bottom and to top it all off found a hair wrapped around one of the new potatoes. There was only one other set of people in when we arrived so not sure what it would be like if it was busy. Staff were swearing and could be clearly heard saying that they had a function upstairs and had only 4 minutes to get their buffett ready so assuming why the service was so poor in the restaurant area. They did give us a refund but didn't seem to care much. Such a shame as had been great the other times we had visited but don't think we will be going back after this experience."

"Tacos are not authentic at all. Large chunks of unseasoned filling that splits the taco when picked. The staff always in a rush to clear your plate so you order more. Drinks size was shocking especially for a non alcoholic beverage which was just a spritz of juice in a glass of ice. Overall not good. Also our chicken was raw and pink in the taco. They removed this off the bill but still charged full service and a donation. I just wanted to get out of there. Ruined a Friday night meal."

"Sadly I am unable to review the food as we never did get to eat here So, purely reviewing the customer service. Arrived on Saturday as a party of 8 (inc wheelchair) We were told it would be upto an hour wait to get a table as was very busy. We were Ok with this and proceeded to buy drinks at the bar. We then sat outside and waited patiently (we did also have a 2 year old within our group) but we kept her occupied. The man who was taking names came out to see us after about 50 mins and just checked it was us who were the large group (with wheelchair) Then, after about an hour, another young man came out and said “sorry, it doesn’t look like you are getting a table for a good while yet as we can’t get you in” Obviously after an hour of waiting patiently and spending money over the bar this was rather annoying. We were then told we could place an order at the external Fish and chip window (anything from the menu) and take it away. We all agreed (as we were hungry and the child was getting tetchy) that we would do this So, we got our order together and went to the window. Annoyingly we were then told it would be at least another hour for food as it’s the same kitchen. Obviously we then left, as this was just unacceptable. So, in summary, poor customer service (not from the two chaps who were taking names but from the managers pls do not take names for large groups if you can’t get them in. You are happy to then take our money over the bar and make people wait but then to not even have a table is beyond good. Sadly a sour taste left in our mouth from this poor experience."

"I have been here a few times, and the service has always been a bit slow, but we got sat was told that there is a 2h max seating time. We waiting 15min before we asked to find some to take our order, still no one, then another 15, before we had to ask again. Over 30min gone we finally got someone to our table. Drinks didn’t come with garnish/straw. No water was filled in our glasses after asking multiple times. The food was just okay. Waiter was no where to be found to order anything wise, check in the table or pay…very disappointing to say the least."

"Visiting our son in Yeovil and he booked Sunday lunch at The Gaggle for 4 of us. Probably the best pub grub we 've had for a long, long time. Son and daughter-in-law had the sharing platter, which gave pork, beef AND chicken whist my wife and I had the duo meal (pork and beef) Portions were generous, food was very well cooked (beef was perfectly pink, pork belly beautifully cooked with proper crackling attached). Sotirios thoroughly deserves its reputation as one of the highest rated places to eat in Kent. We have loved going to Sotirios for several years now and will continue to do so for years to come. We tend to go for special occasions such as birthdays, valentines, and romantic date nights. If you mention when booking what the occasion is, they always do something to make your visit extra special. The food is delicious especially the main courses such as the Lamb Shank, the Vegetable Moussaka, and the Halibut. We always recommend Sotirios to people who are looking for fantastic food of a Greek, Mediterranean and British fusion cuisine. The setting itself is a perfect ambience for what we look for in a nice restaurant. It’s well lit but still dim enough to be a relaxing and warm space. Very nicely decorated and laid out, and always very clean. On top, for us, is the service. Sotirios is a family run restaurant and you absolutely get that vibe in the best of ways from the moment you walk in. It’s co owned by a father and two of his sons, who all work there and play various roles in combination with the rest of the team. You’re usually greeted by Lucas or Alex sons of the founder, Costas. If you’re not, you will definitely meet them during your visit as they clearly make a point to greet and check in on everybody. Costas also joins the front of house team and waits tables which, for me, completes the family run vibe. I am sure Costas is very proud of his team and what they have accomplished, and they fully deserve all of the praise and recognition they get. Parking: Facing the restaurant, to the right hand side is a small car park with a handful of spaces. Note that you should not park there before 6pm as I think it is shared with local residents. If you are not lucky enough to get a spot, try Manor Road we’ve never failed to find parking there."

"Food was great portions was extremely good for the Burgers double cheese and giant farm burgers the steaks were perfectly done both medium rare and the triple meat meal with gammon chicken and small steak was perfect. The service workers were very polite with great attitudes even while quite busy. Two kitchen workers even came out to help with drinks while ordering. Great team only got the name of Donna and Antonio but as a guy who's managed a bar I wish I had workers of their kind of attitude to work.
