"Great Authentic Nepalese Food: Often one sees a restaurant claiming to be Indian when in reality either the owners or the cuisine does not deliver expectations. The Great Gurkhas is genuine family run place in quaint Weybridge and we selected on the basis of other choices available. Mr Guru who had served in Brunei welcomed us in classic Nepalese style and joined us later in conversation taking due care in meeting our specific request for spicy menu. I took up his offer to partake Gurkha beer which was nice accompaniment. We had vegetarian momo, size of which could have been bigger and paneer parcels, well presented and delicious. The main comprised tadka daal, aloo and aubergine all freshly cooked and perfect with garlic naan. The prices are reasonable too and it was very nice dinner experience"

"Pub lunch nearby didn’t hit the mark so popped in for a light lunch. Not sure if server was over busy but welcome seemed lukewarm when only only one out of two of us ordered the lunch option as we were not particularly hungry. I ordered a vegetable curry to be made ‘desi’ style with green chilli’s. It was delicious! Just perfect. The best Indian food I have ordered while visiting Scotland. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered 2 more of the same dish to take back to our hotel in Glasgow this evening. By the way, I am an Indian…,,"

"We went out for a meal and the service was exceptional. We decided to get the banquet and my starter was huge with an impressive amount of meat, and the quality was excellent. I loved the tamarind sauce and they even gave me an extra portion. The staff were friendly and the chef even came out to greet us. We are already planning to come back next week. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"Great food and very good environment. Went there for an iftar buffet and it was superb. The variety was great and the taste of the food was really good. All halal and plenty vegetarian options. The juice and the dates were so good and the real treat was the tea at the end! Definitely will go there again. I really am sad to take off two stars. Went there again and at the counter I was charged 10 pounds for my 2.5 year old with eating disorder. When we told him he said we charge for the seat, not the food!!!! So pay 10 pounds for my toddler to just sit on their chair??? Then he changed his mind and took off the 10 pounds from our bill and made a face as if we are beggars. My husband asked him many times to take it but he just said it’s ok. During the iftar I stood in long queues for the food and by the time I arrived, there were no grills. I went back to my table and tried again with the long queues and ended up having no grills again. Finally I was so full that I came back without eating grills that I loved so much during my first visit. During iftar cashier gentleman went around tables asking people how the food and service was, he never came to our table and gave us stares as if we are went there for free food. Overall the experience was very bad. Such a shame"

"Lovely evening out with the family, food was spot on and the service was fantastic. We were a group with 4 kids and the spice was toned down for them. "The Afghani restaurant is clean and family-friendly. The menu is simple and the staff were courteous. The food exceeded our expectations. We started with kebabs and lamb chops, which were freshly made. For the main course, we had a charsi karahi that was delicious. This dish is unique to Afghan cuisine and we believe it will become a popular trend. We ended our meal with chai tea. Overall, it was a great dining experience and definitely worth a try."
