"The restaurant has a nice appearance and the staff is friendly, but the menu is disappointingly small and uninspiring. With only 4 options each for starters, main courses, and desserts, the choices are very safe and lack imagination. The menu shown on their website was much better than what was actually offered. Although the food was well cooked and tasty, the overall experience was underwhelming given the upscale setting. It's a shame that the chef or manager did not provide more variety or creativity in the menu. The main courses consisted of typical options such as chicken, salmon, steak, and a vegetable dish. Overall, the menu was boring."

"I took my son there for a steak. On arrival, we were asked if we had made a booking and this was checked up on their screen. As the majority of the tables were empty, I thought they would fill up. However, by the time we left, the majority of the tables were still empty; begging the question as to why reservations were such a big deal on arrival. My son ordered a 12oz fillet steak medium which was butterflied rather than grilled whole which we did not understand as it came from the tail end of the fillet rather than the butt or prime end. I ordered a 12 oz ribeye medium rare. Both steaks came cooked exactly to order. The fillet was reasonably tender but the ribeye had membrane that had not been removed and made it quite tough eating. In addition the ribeye had been marinaded in some form of sweet dark sauce which could be clearly tasted and which spoiled the overall taste of the ribeye steak. The accompanying pepper sauce was rather bland. The fries and sweet potatoes were reasonable, the grilled tomatoes over-cooked and the mushrooms were good. The English mustard requested was in front French and I heard an adjoining table have the same challenge. I do not believe that they had English mustard on that night, or perhaps at all. When the ribeye was pointed out to the waitress, the response was a quite blase Oh really, well I 'll be sure to tell the chef . Apart from that, the service was acceptable to good. The malbec ordered was a little rough but quite good. We ordered tap water which came in spring-top bottles; a rather nice touch. Would I go there again? Possibly for a burger but not if I want a good steak."

"We were a party of four and had the vegan taster menu. Two of us were vegetarians and two are also meat-eaters. Nevertheless we all thoroughly enjoyed all the courses- they were fantastic! Interesting and and different and yet all six courses worked well in sequence. There was no feeling that anything was missing. Only argument was as to which was the best course- we all had different favourites. I would thoroughly recommend, not just to vegetarians but to anyone who would like to try something different. And of course you are eating in the great cosy atmosphere of Rubinos. The waitresses too were brilliant- very attentive and happy to talk about the food and discuss what we thought of the various dishes. Only tip is to book ahead- some of the evenings are sold out quite quickly."

"We went to Farrington Park with some vouchers that were about to expire and we selected the steak night. We chose the sirloin steaks for £30 for 2 but we were not told that they were peppered steaks. They were very heavily covered in pepper and I could eat mine but my wife had to scrape the pepper off as best she could. My wife did say to the waitress that it was too peppery for her and she said she was sorry. Everything else was absolutely fine with the dining experience, the steak was cooked to perfection and the taste was lovely, just beware if you don't like too much pepper tell the waitress when you order!"

"Unfortunately, Thatchers did not receive our reservation through Open Table and the restaurant was closed for a wedding fair. The low ambiance score was due to the setup for the event, which caused some disturbance from visitors. However, the staff made the effort to accommodate us and still provided great service. The food was delicious and portion sizes were generous. The staff were also very friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. Overall, we couldn't have asked for better service from the team that day."

"We often come here for Sunday carvery which is very good so thought we would try an evening meal for my Mum's birthday. I am afraid the overall service let down the whole experience. When we arrived, instead of being taken to our table by the waitress, she just pointed and said you are at that table over there. After being to a busy bar area to get our drinks we found out that the 2 waitress standing around did not take orders so we had to go back to the busy bar again and wait to give our food orders. When the food came it was very good, especially my seafood platter. Everyone thought the food was good except for my Mum who had gone for one of the specials. It was so poor especially for being a special. She had one tiny piece of fish with no sauce, 4-5 very small new potato's, a few carrots and a few bits of broccoli. All the veg was hard and there was not enough to satisfy even a person with the smallest appetite. We told the waitress about the hard veg but she just said oh right and there was no apology. When we spoke to the chap at the bar and said why don't the waitress take the orders he said he liked people to come to the bar so the staff could meet them. We all felt this was a lame reason and probably did not trust the teenage waitresses to take the orders. It is a real shame as the place is lovely and the food generally is pretty good but is missing a professional touch. We said we would not return for an evening meal but just stick to the Sunday Carvery."

"yesterday evening with my partner here. once again amazing eating, a Christmas touch on the menu. loved the butternut squash suppe, which was introduced again, we were told due to popular demand. my partner had the lachs gravlax I also tasted and was amazing. the turkey and the pan roast salmon was delicious. we had christmas pudding and the egg custard tart, who was chewing was personalized. my favorite desert here is the salted caramel tare, which unfortunately did not stand on the menu. I hope they'll take it back soon. again great experience with the quality of eating, wein and fabulous service from the front of the house and well looked after by rob the manager. will return and be recommended. - aazing!"

"A very warm and engaging welcome from the gentlemen as we entered and great service all round and very thoughtful to seat us looking out on the bay. We had Fresh oysters, hake and the halibut plus fish and chips that were excellent. A thoughtful plate to say 'Happy Anniversary ' was a really kind touch. Why only 4 stars? To be handed your coats back at the end of a lovely evening with 'here you are ' whilst turning away and not to enquire if we had enjoyed our experience and no 'good night ' with a surly attitude is odd as if we were an annoyance(The young person requires a refresher on front of house training and guidance) and not what I expect from one of Rick 's establishments. As before the gentlemen who greeted us was thoroughly pleasant and extremely professional. We 've dined at least 5/6 times at the Padstow Seafood restaurant plus stayed there at the cafe and also ate at the Fish Chip restaurant and each time it 's been brilliant. I notice other reviewers mentioning the cost -it is pricey but we all know the challenges the whole industry and supply chain are having plus you are in Sandbanks! In conclusion, the food and service is very good plus the view is a wonderful bonus."
