"Made a booking for Sunday at 7.45 on the 16th of April. Reference B9PLKF4M Arrived and was asked if we where in just for drinks by a lady with dark hair who I think was the hostess/head waitress. Said we had a booking for food, which made her attitude towards us change considerably. She then proceeded to ask us did we book online, did we get an email , did we put down a deposit and she would need to see the email. She then went over to the chef and basically had an argument with him before seating us and said ill be back in a minute and you'll need to show me that email. We decided to leave after being made feel very unwelcome, the waitress definitely needs some re training or possibly work in another industry, poor attitude, unfriendly and pretty rude overall."

"We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while wandering around enjoying the Christmas lights. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the variety of dishes was excellent. We shared a small selection of tapas and each had a main dish. The flavors overall were fantastic and the level of spice was just right, although the meatballs were a bit tough. The atmosphere was great, and it was really cool to see a working SNES set up, although I didn't have a chance to play. I would definitely recommend this place and would come back again. The price per person is around £20-30. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Quesadillas, Meatballs, Olives."

"Had a date night here with the hubby. Food was delicious, took a while to get it but we were not disappointed when it arrived. "I’m afraid the two word heading is “very disappointing”. There was a queue to get in with us out in the cold while some woman was arguing with the girl on reception. Then, having got to our table at the far end, we found that there was no waitress to take a drink order back to the bar. Food chosen and back to the bar again. And pay in advance. Service it’s not; this is Wetherspoon Style. I had the carvery with carefully weighed portion to make sure I didn’t get too much. Looked good but the beef was so tough it couldn’t be chewed; it was replaced with turkey but this sort of thing really should not happen. The scampi looked good but there was very little fish inside the large crispy outer layer. No one came to ask if we were enjoying our meal perhaps just as well. We decided not to risk a dessert and went home. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3"

"We were given free drinks because we had to wait over 25 minutes for our milkshakes and over 1.5 hours for our meal. We asked for the drinks. The waitress was great, the highlight of our time there. However, all 4 meals we ordered were awful. The Philly Cheese Steak came with frozen bread, which was then reheated but the steak was still cold, so we sent it back. The Grilled Chicken Burger was actually a fried chicken burger. The Grilled Salmon Burger looked like a processed piece of salmon, white and rubbery. The Cajun Chicken Breast had charred lines on it but was dry, rubbery, and inedible. Three of the meals had fries that had been refried so many times they had hollow centers. The final meal had sweet potato fries that were overly salty, even though we didn't ask for salt. We sent all the meals back and ended up going to KFC since we were all famished. Overall, we were extremely disappointed. It seems like this restaurant doesn't have a proper chef, just businesspeople trying to make a profit by serving cheap processed food. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs."

"It had been a while since we had been to the Rose Inn. We visited on a Saturday afternoon it was fairly quiet so we sat down for some late lunch. We ordered starters and main courses. When the starters came out 45mins after we ordered them we were a little disappointed. We then waited for our plates to be cleared but this didn't happen until our main course then appeared. The main courses were disappointing, for the price, the portions were quite small. I had the fish cakes which were extremely greasy, they were meant to be on a bed of rocket, however they seemed to have a smallish garnish of rocket, these were more of a starter rather than a £15 main course. I also tried to order two soft drinks from the menu neither of them the pub stocked, and when ordering we were told they are sent the menus from the brewery but then they don't get sent all the products. Overall the pub was clean and tidy And staff friendly, it was just disappointing they didn't have the drinks I tried to order and the food was disappointing and not value for money."

"Booked table for 3:30pm and arrived five minutes early. Got our table and drinks, had our starter and were up for our main course at 3:40pm to be told by the chef that we were cutting it fine! He was obviously trying to hurry us along to get away home which wasn’t very pleasant. Food was to the usual high standard and as usual a great variety, although the gateau didn’t taste too fresh. The young waiter who served us didn’t seem to understand us, I think his English wasn’t too good. He also had an overpowering body odour issue which was disgusting, considering he was working around food. Definitely would go back though and still recommend it."

"I recently visited a coffee shop that I had heard about but had never been to before. I ordered two coffees, one black Americano and one latte, and was surprised when the bill came to over £7.50. That's pricier than what I usually find in London. While the staff were lovely and very efficient, I don’t think I’ll be returning. Overall, I would rate the food 3/5, the service 4/5, and the atmosphere 3/5."

"It was a lovely meal 6 of us all enjoyed the meal, could do with more than one on the bar serving the beer drinks plus she was taking the meal orders as well which meant people were waiting for service on the bar. The food on the whole was good but peas were hard as bullets and we had to ask for steak knives which should have come out on the plate with the steak. The prawn cocktail could have been better the sauce was very watery no taste.The steak was very delicious and cooked just the way we liked it rare for me and med rare for the rest, the fish was well cooked and melted in your mouth. Would recommend anyone to have a meal there. We will definitely go again. Thank you Farmer Johns."

"We love this little place, the cream teas are amazing. They have lovely cakes and pastries. The staff are lovely and most importantly the toilet is clean! "Thank you so much for a wonderful Mother's Day meal. I can honestly say it was the most beautiful Mother's Day dining experience we've ever had. The staff were delightful and friendly. We anticipated some delays given how busy the day was, but to our surprise, the food arrived incredibly quickly and was made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Our daughters even asked for extra portions of the lasagna—it received glowing reviews from everyone!"

"Booked a table in advance, as I was planning to visit on a Sunday morning. Arrived at my booked time, no greeting from any of the numerous staff members. Waited until I was approached by a grey haired waitress who would be more at home on a parade ground it would seem. She seemed to think the best way to approach a customer was to bark “name?” at me before bothering to ask if I’d made a booking or not. She then casually wandered off, returning a few minutes later to ask my name again. Was shown a table, given a menu and within literally 2.5 mins of me sitting down, she was over asking for my order. I had to politely say that I wasn’t sure yet and could I have a few more minutes; she seemed to think it was ok to sigh and wander off again. Very odd behaviour indeed. I heard her berating another table of two for their audacity to assume they didn’t have to book, and how she’d need the table back in 45 mins or less. I ordered the small breakfast, and it was mediocre at best. Poached egg was hard all the way through, one measly veggie sausage which was tasteless and some veggie haggis that was bland and cold. Really not worth the price tag. I’ve no idea how this place is still in business. The extremely rude woman who is front of house seems to have a reputation for being awful, as read in other reviews. And the food is nothing to write about. Sadly I won’t be back, nor would I recommend Heaven Scent to anyone I like!"

"Waited for breakfast for over 40 minutes, when it was served there was no cutlery, missing items on breakfast, no napkins, no butter for toast which was burnt. It was cold and either overcooked or undercooked this was recommended to us by a shop owner in Filey, tea and coffee was lovely. If you are visiting Filey please don't go on recommendations via people who live or work here as we've done this and it's not been great."

Just showed menu got there about 5.20 most wanted fish but told none anyway was very hungry as did not eat as looking forward to eating there as I stay in area so ordered 2 pizza 1 vegan burger and normal 1.A mac& cheese and chicken meal. Maybe bad day as chief was leaving but can't say. food was very poor did say but was happy to take my £100. "The service was absolutely shocking. Table booked for 7.15 and by 8 we hadn’t been seated after two enquiries, so on the third enquiry we got seated at a different table than was originally intended for us. We then waited around 45 minutes for our mains order, which were lovely but we just got some serviettes and cutlery put on the table once seated. Table was cleared and cleaned but wasn’t set. Totally under staffed, even had to wait at the bar for drinks. We were thinking of booking a large party for Christmas but will now look elsewhere. There were 9 of us but we had booked. If only we were offered information and even an apology would have been nice! Food was good but just badly staffed and/or bookings not managed efficiently! Kid-friendliness: Not really child friendly unless is summer months as there is an outdoor playground"
