"Popped in for a Sunday roast with no booking. Warm friendly service greeted us both. The quality of the meat was really good. My beef was juicy and succulent and so too was my partner's belly of pork. There was no cracking, as promised in the menu, but it was so good that she did not complain. I found out later, after winning a crown in the meat raffle, that they use Woods Butchers( a highly reputable local butcher). The cauliflower cheese was very good. Very cheesy. However, despite the great presentation of the veg, it did let the meal down. Parsnips were a bit hard and the green beans were a bit rough. Roast potatoes were ok. Without the friendly service and quality of the meat, it would have been a 4 star. I'd like to try it again and hopefully they will up their game with the veg."
