"Popped in for an early lunch after a Saturday morning shopping and it was nice and quiet Service was great from the waiting staff but for some reason the manager was having a little tizzy and was stomping around grumping at everyone....most unprofessional! The food was excellent, i had the sea bass and my other half had the gammon....i forgot to take photos i was so hungry! Dessert was a delicious mini brulee and espresso and himself had a chocolate honey pot which was like a little easter egg ...beautifully presented! A very pleasant meal."

"My husband and I dine here often, but after dining there last night. I don't think we will be back. We had a booking for 7.45pm and we arrived a little early. Our table wasn't ready, so we were moved to another table that was close to the doors to the terrace... it wasn't the warmest of places to sit people, especially when that door was constantly in motion. When we ordered our food, we were told that you had no roasts left... so we ordered the salmon and the duck... after a short while, the waitress told us that the kitchen had also run out of those!! We settled for cheese burger and fish and chips in the end, as this was pretty much our only choice left on the Sunday menu! However, when it arrived, the fish was really greasy, the chips inedible as they looked like they'd been cooked in dirty fat and for far too long, and the burger was really dry. It's a real shame. We don't usually mind paying a bit more as the food there has always been lovely, but we paid £66 for 2 meals, and we didn't eat most of the main. The only good thing about it was the larder plate, which we shared as a starter. I wish I'd taken photos of the food to show how bad it was. We left not long after our food arrived. When I paid for the bill at the bar. I wasn't asked if everything was OK with the food. Otherwise, I might have had this conversation with the staff. My only advice to tourists is to try other places. The Quay Inn does quality food and for a reasonable price. You can always find space to sit and eat or just have a drink. It's the lure of the quay that makes the Granary so busy!"

"Unfortunately the “go to smokehouse” “worth the drive out for” has gone downhill massively. Service was poor, the food turned up before the drinks as they had been forgotten about. The food was VERY small portions , underwhelming considering the prices and very poor compared to previous visits that were exceptional. I was genuinely embarrassed as I had recommended to a friend who drove out of Exeter to visit P&p with me, I even apologised to them after the meal!! We didn’t complain to the waitress as we had eaten all the food in front of us, but in all honesty there was very little! It’s also easy to say “it can’t have been that bad you are it all”. It wasn’t “bad food” it just wasn’t great food, or anything special like it had been on previous visits. For what it was, it was overpriced compared to other similar places like HUBBOX. "Perfect New Years Hot Pot Delivery I’ve never been to Dentons Deli before and saw them advertising Cottams hot pot delivered baked to your door on New Years Eve ... well that seemed like an opportunity too good to be true for a busy mum of 4.. I was worried it might not turn up as if never used them before but thought I would risk it rather than dragging the kids out of bed and queuing for hotpot and I needn’t have worried at all ... "My friend and I visited five guys in Nottingham on a Friday during December when the Christmas market was on. This was my first ever visit to a five guys restaurant. Going at lunchtime we expected it to be really busy but it was quite the opposite. we ordered and waited for several minutes for the food prepared before we were handed a brown paper bag. We took this to the upstairs seating area and I was eager to see what I had been missing. I have ordered a little bacon cheeseburger with relish and grilled mushrooms. The burgers come wrapped in silver foil And were pretty squashed together with cheese leaking all over the packaging. The bread bun was fairly standard and the meat patty was a freshly formed burger and very tasty. The bacon was cooked to death but did the job and the relish was more diced pickle to be honest. The burger tasted nice enough, but even Burger King is superior. We ordered a regular portion of chips between us and these came with a cardboard cup somewhat chucked into the brown paper bag. The chips were very nice skin on chips and I can’t fault them, but clearly you don’t go to a place like this for presentation! Well, I’ve now tried five guys, and it was a very average experience all round really, but it stopped me from feeling hungry is about as good a review as I can give it. It wouldn’t bother me if I never came here again though."

"Well what can i say about my buffet for my 30th birthday party. The food was delicious and plenty to say the least but what was different about this party is the personal touches that lisa made. Theme was a alice in wonderland mad hatters tea party and ingenious to put pickles and dips in tea cups and serve jam tarts (queen of hearts haha) on beautiful cake stands. My guests had nothing but praise for the food and said how delicious it all was. TI will defintely be recommending this ladies services to anyone wanting a personal catering experience. Thankyou lise. Your a star xxx What a turn around, wishing you all the best, keep serving them homemade oatcakes (with bacon and cheese, that I have to say are the dogs boll*cks) and you'll make that place. "I don’t write many reviews, and if I do they’re normally positive but I have to comment on our experience last night. To start on a positive, my wife and I both ordered steak which was very pricy at 25 but extremely well cooked. Now. The negatives. The area for dining was absolutely crammed to bursting point. Our table which was booked well in advance was stuffed in a corner, by the bar and entrance to the pool room which meant people constantly hustling past us. Not conducive to a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Plus the dog wandering around the pub unsupervised and stuffing it’s nose onto our table was an added treat whilst eating. Bit of a saga to order the food too. No tab allowed, took menus to look them back to the bar to order only to be sent back to the table for a member of staff to come over with his iPad. As previously stated, the steak was great, as it should be for 25!! The cheap frozen French fries that accompanied it was insulting and I’d expect better for the price. Booked table for 7 pm, stuck in a restaurant with far too many diners and then told to basically hurry up and get off the table by 8.30! A very poor evening out with owners/management clearly only seeing signs. I know it won’t make a difference as it’s the only pub there and very popular, especially in the summer but I certainly won’t return. There’s plenty of holiday makers to fleece so I won’t be missed"

"We've frequented The Courthouse many times over the last 10 years. Having used them for many occasions just for drinks only, or meals with drinks and were not disappointed. We've always collected our choices, even though delivery options are fully available. So, Valentine's became our...next point-of-call. No disappointment in the menu choices. Ordering on-line was, as before, nice and easy (An account is not needed for this). Skip forwards to being called on the day, to be informed that the local road was being worked upon (highways resurfacing) but advised of the 1 minute distanced car park for convenience. I was already aware of this issue, but what service for the business to call, let you now about and offer traffic advice. All choices ordered, were ready on-the-dot. Fully cooked. Containerised separately. Marked up clearly. Service with a smile. It all helped make the Valentines day. Thanks to the Chef the Staff."

"We've eaten here in the past when we go to visit an elderly relative in West Bay. On this occasion, we ate at 6.30 on a Tuesday evening. The pub was moderately busy, but it was a wet and windy night! We both had fish and chips which was okay. Portion size was adequate, but if you're a big, hungry man, it wouldn't necessarily be enough. Fish was quite nice, but chips a little underwhelming in my opinion. What I found extremely annoying was the addition of a 10% service charge automatically applied to the bill. It wasn't even mentioned by the member of staff. I always get it removed. If I want to add a tip, I will decide how much, not the restaurant thank you very much!!! My husband was slightly surprised when I paid the bill as it was. He queried it when we were outside, and I said I had paid the service charge because they had missed of a pint of beer and a large glass of red, so it was reasonable value, and one up to me! We won't return in the future."

"I made a reservation a while ago after looking at the menu online. Upon arrival, we enjoyed a drink in the courtyard which was the highlight of the evening. The outdoor space was lovely and the drinks from the bar were delicious. We were then seated in the dining room, which had apparently been changed to a "Bistro." The menu had completely changed since I booked and our waitress mentioned that other customers had also noticed this. The menu now had a bistro-style theme, as the name suggests. We ordered the crab linguine which had very little crab meat and was served with spaghetti, which was disappointing. The steak was cooked poorly and was chewy and of poor quality. Overall, it was a disappointing start to our evening. Unfortunately, we didn't even return for drinks in the pub as we felt that the dining experience had left a bad taste in our mouths. The young waitresses were pleasant and tried their best, but it seems like this restaurant isn't quite sure what it wants to be."

"We just called in for a drink, you order at the counter and bring them to the table yourself, my Brother and his partner both had Latte's, i had a Mocha, when my brothers partner got to the table she told me which was mine, or which should have been mine, but they all looked the same, and all tasted the same, which was a shame as i was looking forward to the Mocha, plus the Latte's didn't taste like Latte's either. it was only looking at other reviews on here that i found out the staff are volunteers, they could do with a bit of training for the differant coffee's on offer. apart from that, the place is nice and clean, and the staff seem very friendly"

"I had a meal at the Black Horse Hotel while I was staying in Grassington. The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming and provide excellent service. There was a small mistake with the main course order, but it was quickly resolved. The menu offers a variety of options to suit all tastes. I started with the loaded fries, which had a bit too much barbecue sauce for my liking. For the main course, I had the beer battered haddock and chips, which was of excellent quality. Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert. I would definitely visit again in the future."

"We went in here about 11.45 in the morning, after having read all these wonderful reviews. We were the only people in there for a good 20 minutes, apart from (I assume the owners and their little girl who seemed to find us an interesting spectacle to stare at! I'm afraid to say we didn't feel particularly welcome, we really wanted someone else to come in, but then friends of the owners did, which didn't really help us feel any at ease! I'm a vegetarian, and there wasn't a great deal of choice, so I asked for the bacon to be left off the bacon brie and cranberry panini which was done without a fuss but with the price left unchanged. The food took a while, considering it was just a panini and a sandwich and we were the only ones there at this point, but the food was decent. My husband had a ham and mustard sandwich; wafer thin ham (a strange choice perhaps when you could get amazing ham from the butchers a few doors away?! and the bread was fresh if just from a standard sliced loaf. The butter and mustard outweighed the taste of the ham. The panini was good, with plenty of cranberry balancing out the cheese! The salad and coleslaw were tasty and nice and fresh, but the crisps were perhaps opened the day before?! The packets of sugar hadn't been filled on our table, so we got some from another table, without comment from the owners. The milk in the pot was just enough for my husband's mug of tea, but if you like it milky you would have needed to ask for more! We left with appetites sated, but wouldn't rush back. With some changes it could be wonderful."

"A summary would be amazing food, lovely atmosphere and perfect service. This is a great place to enjoy proper home cooked food. We had a combination for food from the normal menu and some specials. First the normal menu offered delicious loaded fries, perfectly cooked pancakes with nutella, the Club sandwich was packed with filling and the excellent OM Eggs Benny. Also from the normal menu you must try the Sweet Potato Bhaji's ! From the specials we had the Mac and Cheese with brisket which was wow but i loved my Sausage Grilled Cheese sandwich which was amazing ! Coffee was great and this is just a lovely place to eat !"
