"After almost an hour of waiting for delivery, I called up to ask for an explanation as to why my pizza was late, and cold. I was asked what my job was/whether I was a lawyer (clearly irrelevant to the situation), whether I was on drugs/had been drinking, and then hung up on, simply for asking for an explanation as to why my pizza was cold/late. I proceeded to ask the name of the man I was speaking to, so that I might report this despicable line of questioning, and was spoken over and hung up on. After ALL that, the pizza was not even good quality. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!! Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"that was our third job and totally disappointed. it was a late evening, given 45 minutes for the delivery time. after 70 minutes they had to hunt, with the excuse they were “very busy” (everyone tried to call?j. 90 minutes later a poor extradition child was given. his ear bent; and the warm eating was not even the right meal. £20 in the bin .and I know they don't apologize. never again."

"The pizza at this restaurant is delicious and better than Domino's. I find Domino's pizza to be too rich and it makes me feel slightly sick after eating. I really enjoyed the direct pizza and the delivery was incredibly fast! The only issue was that the pizza was a bit cold, but a quick blast in the oven fixed that."

"I used to frequent this restaurant because their delivery service was terrible, but it has improved significantly now. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the 2-piece fish dinner which is incredibly worth it. The staff are fantastic and I have been a loyal customer since I was young. This is the best fish and chip shop in Great Britain."

"I was called yesterday to say that they couldn’t deliver my food as there was road works and it would take 1hr and was trying to get a refund straight away as that was the only money I had left till today when I got paid. I was told I could get the food but it would be cold and I said no as I am not going to pay for cold food the lady I spoke to said it would take 3 to 5 working days then it changed to 5 to 7 working days and I was not happy with this as I then couldn’t order anything else as had no money left I also asked if I could get my order from another shop but there wasn’t one close enough I also asked to speak to the manager that I couldn’t and she went to call someone to try fix the problem and couldn’t solve it and she said I could call and speak to a manager tomorrow and I did but still couldn’t speak to manager and the guy was rude to me when I was explaining what happened and said well I should budget better and said is that all and that he has better things to do so I said to him that he’s being quiet rude and he said I was rude yesterday to the lady. Totally unacceptable don’t order from here."

"The pizza I had last night was the final disappointment at this restaurant. I have always been a fan of Papa John's pizza, ever since my first bite at the Holburn street location. However, the franchise on Great Northern Road does not measure up to its sister store. I ordered an XXL pizza, jalapeño bites, a Pepsi, and 5 dips (sour cream). Unfortunately, the pizza was cold, the jalapeño bites were frozen, and the dips I received were the unpleasant garlic ones. To make matters worse, they are now charging 50p per dip, so receiving the wrong ones was a major letdown. I called to address the issue with the dips before realizing my pizza was cold, and asked for the correct ones to be sent. The person on the phone said they would ask the driver but hung up before confirming the address. As expected, the dips never arrived. I have encountered several other problems with this restaurant, so I will not be returning. Papa John's, you have lost a loyal customer. It is important that you address the issues with your franchises that are tarnishing your reputation. A label on the box guaranteeing quality means nothing when the pizzas are consistently cold and taste terrible."

"Avoid this takeout as they are extremely unprofessional and blatant liars. This has happened twice to us and we have been left extremely disappointed with their service. Our pizza was not delivered even after hours and while we phoned the takeout to inquire about the status they confirmed the delivery was on the way. They lied to us about the delivery on separate phone calls we made to them and their lies were only caught when I insisted to speak to their manager about my refund. The store manager then confirmed that due to some technical issue our order was never placed on their system. When I asked about the their lies, the manager was only able to offer apology for they were extremely busy on the evening. This is not acceptable. If a store is busy they should advise the customers of the wait times, at least the customer can choose to go ahead with the order or not. Also being lied to feels like being cheated. I have requested my refund and manager confirmed it was processed but I still haven't received any money in my account. Papa Johns should really choose better franchise owners."
