"With only one waiter for the entire shift, he tried his best to accommodate everyone. The waiter's personal service was fantastic but the experience was left cold as his attention was floating around looking after other customers as the football game finished.This made our food turn cold as we saw the food laying idle for some time awaiting to be picked up. We addressed this to the waiter and an apology was issued but nothing else. could of offered to warm up the food The menu is terrible, Previous visits to the Stanmore Branch was superb with great customer service and quality of food.I visited Pecking Order at the Hive once before from which the chef had to leave early due to an emergency which is understandable . So the waitermanager cooked our food which was a surprise to me. This limited the order to just fried food where Pecking Order is known for its Rotisserie chicken. We ended up with Chicken and Waffles which was delicious but it wasnt what I really wanted to order.On this trip the menu shrunk to just items half chicken, burger or veggie burger followed by fries and rice.This is a HUGE disappointment as the portion size has actually shrunk but more importantly with such a small menu the food still came out mediocre and cold not the Pecking Order I'm used to since been an avid fan of the Stanmore Branch.Further more, upon leaving and picking up our ticket coin from Starbucks next door they serve the SAME CHICKEN as Pecking order from which I asked the Barista is this the chicken from Pecking Order from which she confirmed. I found this very unusual and the Manager of this establishment is cutting alot of corners which in turn is impacting his menu and staff from which the customer experience is left ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING.Never again and DO NOT RECOMMEND"

"This charming traditional country pub has ample parking available. We made a reservation for dinner on a Sunday night, and although we were the only diners, the pub area was quite lively. The dining space is completely separate from the pub/bar area, ensuring that all social distancing measures are properly followed. It was clean, and the service was prompt and attentive. The fish and chips we ordered were delicious. While the selection of fruit juices was somewhat limited, the owners were very accommodating. The music created a pleasant atmosphere, though it was a bit loud, it didn't detract from our experience. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience during these challenging times when many establishments are struggling to stay open."

The personal service provided by the waiter was excellent, but the overall dining experience was lacking as his attention was divided after the football match ended. This resulted in our food becoming cold as it sat waiting to be picked up. We brought this to the waiter's attention and received an apology, but no solution was offered to warm up the food. The menu was disappointing compared to previous visits to the Stanmore Branch, where the customer service and food quality were excellent. On a previous visit to Pecking Order at the Hive, the chef had to leave early due to an emergency, so the waiter or manager ended up cooking our food, limiting our options to only fried foods instead of their signature rotisserie chicken. We ended up enjoying the chicken and waffles, but it wasn't what we had initially wanted to order. The menu only offered four items: half chicken, burger or veggie burger, fries, and rice, which was a letdown in terms of variety and portion size. To top it off, we discovered that the same chicken served at Starbucks next door was also served at Pecking Order, which was a disappointment and raised questions about the restaurant's practices. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I would not recommend it."

"Thursday is always a busy night for us... Scouts for my Son and Cheerleading for my daughter. It was going to be later than usual last week so we ordered through Deliveroo to arrive when we got home from our respective taxi duties. It all arrived fine but the food was raw to the extent a good vet could have got it going again. They tried to blame Deliveroo for picking it up at the wrong restaurant first before then saying that the marinade sometimes makes it look undercooked. I would heartily recommend that you give it a wide berth. You'd be safer eating from the bins out the back of McDonald's... At least they cook it."

"Lunchtime Indian seemed a good idea after a good walk in the morning, rather tired surroundings but decided to give it a go since you cannot always judge the quality of the food by the surroundings, however I was quite wrong. The vegetarian platter was 2 x samosa’s and a load of onion bhajis, technically a mix but far below what you would typically expect. The salad accompanying it was obviously in mourning for the summer having passed and seemed about as depressed by the decor than we were. The mains came with all the flair of a wet flannel. Soggy rice masquerading as pilau, mains ok but tasted as if the gravy came out of a bottle. Wife liked her vegetables so some consolation. The naan seemed more like a paratha and certainly had never seen the inside of a tandoor. If you love Indian food, steer well clear, it does not taste like the chef does!"

When we questioned why they had accepted our booking, they claimed to have no knowledge of it or the OpenTable app. This was extremely disappointing behavior. Don't bother going to this restaurant."

"average eating, not very well presented my steak was just the steak and French pommes on plate, did not see very appetit. had to ask and pay for one of them who, when it came, was only a lot of salat red wobbles and tomaten. some homemade chips would be better than thin white pommes. choc fudge brownie was good and beginner ok. chicken fajitas good and beautiful homemade cakes. very quiet for a sat and that has not borrowed to a great atmosphere, although great if they want to chat. if she seems to go for the set menu as if a little less effort goes into the food. is rushed back as more beautiful places to eat in york. the service was ok."

"we were several times for Sunday dinner at the care and were always satisfied with the service and eating. last Sunday they must have had problems with the staff, as it did not seem particularly busy. I had booked a table the day before when we arrived, we had to wait for our table, which was not a problem, but I noticed after 20 minutes that they had taken other people directly to the restaurant, it seemed that they had forgotten about us, so I had to ask, we were then sitting. Unfortunately, the food service was very slow, where it is not normally. After 45 minutes I had to follow our food order again. eating was nice as it is usually, and the staff was very apologetic. I'm sure it was just a blip and we're gonna go back."

"nice little caffeine, a little time warp but quirky. torn sarnies came with a big salate that will certainly beat everything I had on the nc500 this winter. toasties could be better, but the narrator of the food I received was fantastic and I had no more left. the coffee was also beautiful and very good value at less than £15 for 2 drinks and 2 dishes or kocher with sides"
