"Not much imagination went into naming 34, its address is 34 Grosvenor Square; such lack of creative facility does not bode well. And the address, well, that too sends a message, for as one London guide says: From its earliest days Grosvenor Square attracted residents of high social status, over half of whom, until well into the 20th century, were people of title. The square has never deteriorated socially. Are commoners even allowed? Finally, as part of Caprice Holdings Ltd, a group that includes Scott's less than five minutes walk away where hedge fund managers being seen and being rich seemed to us on our visit there more important than the food served, are we simply in the wrong place to get a good meal? Fortunately, the answer is no and the best part about 34 is indeed the food. "On arrival the staff where lovely , we ordered our meal . The lasagne sounded good so both ordered the same. What a disappointment, it was stodgy and too much tomato , hardly any cheese. I have never left a lasagne but could only manage...half of it , as did my friend. and that was a struggle. It reminded me of a cheap lasagne from a bargain supermarket or school meals , the worst I have ever had.! Even the garlic bread was very dry, so we thought the pudding would be better , creme anglaise was curdles and hard ... I left half of it .. my friend left all of hers as it was just tasteless, and slightly frozen .. sad because we used to love this restaurant , wont be going back for a long time ."

"I made a reservation for Sunday lunch but ended up waiting over an hour. The staff never apologized for the long wait, and the restaurant was freezing cold with everyone eating with their coats on. The pub is poorly maintained with dirty and uncomfortable seats. I ended up leaving because the food took too long to arrive. The owner is missing out on a great opportunity, as this is currently the only restaurant in Yalding. If you are trying to support local businesses, I would not recommend this place. "We went here yesterday m Father’s Day and they were extremely under staffed for the occasion and the kitchen couldn’t not keep up with the amount orders going into the kitchen. The waiting staff we very friendly and understanding to our frustrations. We waited over an hour for our starters to arrive, then the mains took an extra half hour for our mains to arrive which wouldn’t normally be a problem but giving the waiting time for the starters we were all pretty fed up by this point one of our children was to tired to eat. What was meant to be an afternoon meal turned out to be an evening meal and meaning we didn’t get home until late. Having said all of this the food was delicious when it did finally arrive. We will go back, but not on a day when it will be busy."

"I've never had an insulting restaurant experience in my life. after a beautiful meal, with the exception that our medium-sized steak was burned to a crack, the restaurant had a problem with its card machine. after inserting my card it immediately said that the pencil has exceeded without the possibility to insert a pencil. After I tried three times, I asked if we could go to the next room to solve the machine problem from the table (which tried to finish her wein.) the first words the manager said while I looked seriously, did I have to call the police? I was absolutely shocked, insulted and understandably angry when I was a business owner and tried to take my employees for a nice meal. you have to pretend to smoke the place, or try not to pay while your card machine was the problem, is absolutely beyond the friend. I asked a manager and he said he was the manager! after additional argument where I had to demand that he retrieve the amount on the machine (I had to ask repeatedly) Apple pay worked well. I should also note that earlier in the evening a man at another table had the exact same issue and we heard him say he had no time to speak with a manager and wanted to pay only his bill with his card. I will not be back, and this restaurant must seriously consider training its employees in the elite. when they say they call the police on a customer when the card machine is not working crazy."

"Went with a friend who is vegetarian. The menu accommodated vegetarians too which is good. Place was nicely enough decorated on the inside. Food prices were okay. Had the dry noodles and found it was a a bit odd for them to not be served in a bowl because whenixing the ingredients together it kind of went everywhere. So not very practical albeit looked nice enough on the plates. The spring roll was also slightly overcooked. Otherwise was quiet when we arrived, bit busier after we left."

"My mother took us (myself, my husband, and a close friend , to TL as a surprise and we had a truly lovely time. This cozy French restaurant has great service and good food. The live piano music we could hear coming from the jazz bar upstairs added to the ambience. The private dining room we were in was intimate and comfortable and didn 't feel too cut off from the rest of the place. The service was attentive but subtle, so none of that is everything ok every 5 minutes. Classic Parisian Bistro dishes, well cooked, so no complaints. They also served a perfect rare steak which was good, as some/many places chicken out of serving anything even slightly pink, so Bravo there. All in all a lovely place to eat with friends and family."

"Well, I was staying away from home due to work and found this Indian restaurant (I do love Curries so looked out for one . Yes, the girl taking orders (I presume the owner's daughter was friendly and very helpful, and the service was quick, probably because there weren't many people in there, but that did surprise me because it was Saturday night. Upon arrival, I sat down and disappeared into the chair (no springs! moved to another seat only slightly better. Had poppadoms, tasted awful but they came out after around 30 seconds so maybe they were yesterday's? Chutney, mint yogurt etc were the worst I've had, very bland, even the onion was watery and tasteless. I wondered how good the main would be. Omg, I hate to say this but it was honestly the worst curry I have ever tasted and I was very disappointed. As other reviews have said, it was dry chewy chicken chunks in a paste. I ate half of it and just wanted to get out of there in the end, got the bill then suddenly they had a power cut! Lights kept flashing on and off as the owner repeatedly kept resetting the breaker which just kept tripping out. The card reader for payment stopped working so I was stuck. After 5 mins the owner brought out candles! Somebody in the restaurant offered to help the owner, and after 20 mins got the lights on. (I hope he was rewarded with a discount but I doubt it very much! I eventually paid but they wanted the itemised receipt they gave me after I paid, but I needed it for work, but eventually sorted it (they let me have the last cm of the receipt! . I left the run down front porch area with two doors, couldn't close the first door, it wouldn't shut. Then the owner just slammed it behind me and it shut, which I thought was a bit rude as I was still there in the porch looking at him! I went through the second door onto the street and the door handle came off in my hand along with that long rod bit as well. Then the Indian owner came running out and took it from me. I couldn't stop laughing all the way home. Will I go back? Absolutely not!"

"what a breathtaking place for brunch. eating was divine, really enjoyed their fluffy pancakes and a lumberjack. Eggs were perfectly cooked, crispy speck, golden kartoffeln and herby wurstpatty. the service was friendly and efficient and flat white was served at the right temperature, not too hot. I also took a brunch pizza that was absolutely delicious, plenty of filling and pizza base was thin and crisp. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys brunch and good coffee. Thank you."

"Very friendly atmosphere, welcomed by the owner/host when I arrived. Very attentive and had taken note of and informed the kitchen of my allergy and as I overheard in the dining room reminded another guest of their own allergy that they the guest had forgotten about. Simple and elegant dining room, not overcrowded with tables, old dining tables and chairs, simply decorated. Vintage style cutlery and fresh flowers on each table. For dinner I was served with an appetizer (amuse bouche) of avocado, pea and mint in a shot glass, which was very yummy. My starter was braised tomato and red onion served in filo pastry and to follow I chose Salmon served on a bed of minted pea, with broccoli, roasted potatoes and braised cabbage. So yummy! Salmon was perfectly cooked. All freshly made in house For desert I had a rocky road slice with non dairy vanilla ice cream. I can’t eat dairy and follow a predominantly plant based diet. They provided me with a small carton of Alpro soy milk for my room for any drinks that I might want to make before bed. Good wine selection; New and old world, not vast, but a good choice that compliments the menu. Altogether a really enjoyable and relaxing stay. Charming and elegant, simple and tasteful. I met a lovely older couple who try to visit two to three times per year. If I can I will visit again, it’s a lovely place, and dog friendly too!"
