"The hotel is a charming old manor house that has been converted into a three-star hotel. It boasts an impressive entrance, a good location, and plenty of potential. We booked four rooms for two nights in the main house. In its prime, this place must have been fantastic, full of character and old-world charm. However, it currently feels a bit worn out and is in need of some repairs and tender loving care, both inside and out.
The showers were hit or miss; they took a long time to warm up, and at times, the water pressure was disappointingly low. The lighting in the bedrooms could be improved, and some guests found the beds uncomfortable. Additionally, housekeeping could definitely pay more attention to detail.
Despite these drawbacks, the hotel has a lot of potential and would benefit from a refurbishment that restores its original features. We've heard that it has recently been under new management, with plans to increase the number of rooms and build leisure facilities. So, there's definitely promise for the future.
Even with these issues, we would consider staying here again. It's a lovely old property, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was both appealing and delicious.
