"I came with 2 friends and we were looking forward to a last lunch together before Christmas, But the food was very poor, I had Hunters chicken which should have come with bbq sauce but there was virtually none and the chicken was so dry and tasteless without the sauce and it was the first time I had ever had cold peas! The waitress asked if everything was ok and I said it was disappointing that it wasn’t as described, she just said she would pass that onto the chef! The manager came over after a few minutes and said he hoped we would return and the next time we came it would be better, well I’m sorry there probably won’t be a next time at least not for a meal, I don’t expect gourmet food but something edible and enjoyable would have been nice"

"I had booked a table for lunch after being attracted to the Festive Set Menu at this pub, which I had checked online beforehand. However, once we were seated, we discovered that the Set Menu was not available. After inquiring at the bar, I was informed that it was not being offered in December. I ended up ordering nachos instead, which tasted like they were from jars and were very disappointing. My friend enjoyed his turkey pie, but mentioned that the parsnip was tough. Additionally, customer parking was difficult, leading me to park at the nearby Peace Memorial Hall car park. Overall, it was an average experience and I do not plan on returning."

"It’s 1.30pm and we have booked a table at the Tivoli we walk in through the front door to an empty room. Surely Sunday lunch should be busy. We look through to the dining area to see a couple of tables occupied but are worried why it’s so quiet. We order drinks at the bar and the server is charming. The place is spotless and the bar well stocked. Then we are shown to our table and order Sunday lunches priced at £17 per head with extra for cauli cheese and then all becomes clear when the meals arrive . They are mean so mean my meat consisted of 1.5 slices of pork 3 roast potatoes. 1 carrot 1 parsnip and a spear of broccoli. All tasty and served hot but just not enough. They bag the pork out with a Yorkshire pudding and 4 minutes after delivery it all over. We then retreat to the garden to find the staff eating bowl of potatoes etc etc and I decide something is very much amiss here"

"So I went here yesterday for lunch with work colleagues … I was sooo impressed, the lady who I assumed to be the manager with black hair was so welcoming and friendly, the pub was spotlessly clean and the food I felt was such good...value for money. There was another lady behind the bar who was also so friendly…. I came out thrilled to have found this great pub right round the corner from work with such great staff. I went back with different work colleagues today for lunch, raving about how impressed I was yesterday…. Only today I had a completely different experience. I sat at the table I had reserved on line and ordered for my friends and then realised actually I’d like to move tables… the pub was so quiet only about other tables. I asked a lady I later found out was called Mollie if I could move tables, she just looked at me as if I’d asked her for a kidney! She was rude unhelpfu. I understand we all have bad days but her attitude was terrible. I explained I had been in yesterday and the dark haired lady was so nice I asked who she was… mollie said the DM like I’m supposed to know what that means, I asked what that was and she said deputy manager, I asked who she was and she said she was the manager !! I suggest you promote the DM immediately! We had our lunch and again the food was great… Mollie did go round the back of the bar and moaned about me to the bar maid and I could hear her saying I’m ready to walk out … so unprofessional… I could hear her, the pub was practically empty! We finished our lunch with no further incident… what a shame …. I really felt like I’d found a little gem to use for work, which I still will, only not on the days Mollie is the manager!!"

"We recently went for a bottomless brunch at this restaurant. It was different from our previous visit as the table setup was not ideal, with some of us having our backs to our friends. We felt overcharged for what we got, especially since there was no prosecco this time. The host was friendly, but the service was lacking as we only received a few drinks. One of our friends had their food order forgotten, causing them to eat after everyone else. My chicken karaage burger was enjoyable, but the pizzas were undercooked and doughy - I am a professional pizza chef and could tell they were not cooked properly. Overall, I would rate our experience a 4/10 and we will not be returning. It was not worth the £30 we paid, feeling like a rip off."

"my young family and I stayed last week for lunch in the swan inn. the service was exceptional and the staff was very friendly and friendly to our two young children. it makes such a difference to feel inviting and we had a great time. my son liked the (recommended) sunflower dessert especially. the decor was warm and fitting, there were comfortable seats through the fires and also great offers on the food. may not thank the amazing staff enough and would fortunately stop close again. Maybe if the children are a bit older, I can even be able to try the ales at the bar, especially the hogs back brewery is a favorite bride of me. cordial thanks to all in the swan inn to the next visit."

"My friend and I were enjoying some drinks when we asked for the TV to be changed to the football game, which we look forward to watching every Friday and weekend at this restaurant. Carmenella, one of the bar staff, quickly took care of it without any issues and even offered us more drinks at our table. It was a very enjoyable experience and we had a great time."

"I don't know why the so many negative reviews here. Have ordered over 10 times. Sometimes the toppings are a bit sparse, depends on the dude doing it, but friendly staff etc and drivers make up for it. Most of the time pizza is made very well. I've asked to have the toppings a bit better distributed more of them before after a bad experience and they definitely made it better on that delivery. Good pizza, good guys"

"The pub was busy and I did expect that as its the Christmas period and I really liked the interior the pub, made me feel very cosy. The staffs were lovely and did inform us that there will be 30 45 minutes delay as they were busy. My starters were great but the main course was of a poor quality. I ordered the fish and chips and it was not made very well. Both the fish and the chips were not drained well from the oil as they were quite greasy on my plate and bits of oil residue were left of the plate too I know they are fried in oil but I would have expected them to pat or drain the oil a little before plating it up). The chips didn't have that crisp outer shell that I was expecting and was quite soggy. The fish's batter was not crispy and very thick like a mushed up bread and very soggy too. The fish wasn't seasoned as well as I had to add salt and pepper to it continuously. I was very hungry but I couldn't finish it as the batter was too thick and I felt like I was eating the oil doughy batter rather than the fish itself. For £13 worth of fish and chips, I was expecting better."

"Nice pub! I called ahead to book a table for 11 for Christmas, but they couldn’t fit us in. On the day of our reservation, we walked in because the other place we had booked was only serving a set menu, and we needed a quick lunch. Thankfully, the ET was able to accommodate us on short notice. I’m still giving it 5 stars because we all enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. However, I do wonder why they couldn’t have reserved a table for us when I called earlier, as it would have saved us a lot of hassle since this was our first choice. Perhaps another group canceled, and we were lucky enough to benefit from it. Thank you, ET! I would definitely visit again."

"Our children took us here to celebrate my wife's upcoming birthday. We ordered our food, and at the same time we told the member of staff that was taking our order that we had a voucher via email for free dessert for all within the group. When asking to pay the bill, we was asked to show the email with the free dessert, my wife who had the voucher via email was asked by the waitress if she could take her phone and show this to a Member of staff, not sure if she was a manager, but she was not the most happiest person in the pub, she even came over and asked my wife if she could forward the email to an address so they could look into this, as they were not aware of this, yes they onourd the offer, but made us feel very uncomfortable about it. I will say the food was great, but the atmosphere was not so good, all the staff was ignoring each other, like it was all there first day on the job. We will not be going there again, first time, last time."

"I treated my friend to an annual day out and we decided to try Papa John's pizza for the first time. We chose the family feast deal which included 2 medium pizzas, 2 sides, and a drink for £22.99 - an amazing offer! We were pleasantly surprised to find a half-off deal for ordering 4 toppings on 2 medium pizzas. We went with hot buffalo wings and cheesy breadsticks, along with a Pepsi to drink. Although there was a technical issue with the online payment and I was charged twice, the issue was resolved promptly after contacting the bank. I appreciate the patience and helpfulness of the staff member who assisted me over the phone. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and look forward to getting the refund for the extra charge. Keep up the good work and happy holidays!"

"Had lunch today at the King's Head. On arrival, the bar service was good. Sat at a window seat... it was not good to see a dirty table chair with stains on the seat... Food ordered easily, but such a disappointment; fish chips...should be simple to cook, but so little fish and so much batter all dry... Also the King's Head was so noisy with children screaming.... There was an event nearby cordoned off, but this made not difference. Despite this being our local, we won't return in a hurry. Management with respect take this comment on board. A one off function may pay a lot, but locals calling in regularly is better in the long run…."
