"Late review. Unfortunately the reviews regarding the rude manager are correct. Came In with a friend for a quick drink and was shouted at by this lady as we came in from the wrong way and then to be told they’re not accepting customers as they were closing that’s absolutely fine however there were tables filled with people in and outside. This was my first time at this place. I decided to leave straight away it was such a rude encounter that as I was walking outside with my friend, another colleague came running out to apologise for the managers behaviour. I hate to bring race into this but this was the only thing that differed from myself/my mate and everyone else in this pub. Having said that, after reading others reviews, it seems like the manager just doesn’t have the basic skills and etiquette to provide a reasonably decent customer service. How on earth you’ve managed to get a job in management is beyond me. Advice to manager doctors are here to help. Support is available, just try not to shout when requesting your chill pills."

"Great place to go for drinks. Lots of tv screens to watch sports. Staff are excellent, Sam is a great bartender. Top man. Lots to do in the bar. Has a dart board and a pool table. A favourite of mine to go in Bristol. Never lets me down. This bar makes Bristol great."

"The online ordering process was easy, with clearly highlighted options. I was able to track the preparation and delivery through their pizza tracker. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The pizza and sides were delicious and flavorful, loaded with cheese and toppings. The crust was great, and the garlic dips were wonderful. Overall, it was good service. I wish I had taken a photo before I devoured half of it!"

"Terrible experience! I placed an order but when I needed to correct a mistake just 2 minutes after ordering, the restaurant didn't answer the phone for an hour, despite trying 3 different phones! When they finally answered, they said they couldn't make any changes because the food was already prepared. I ended up losing £42. If they had just answered the phone, this could have all been prevented. The other branches were no help, and even the headquarters were closed at 1:00pm! I couldn't even get a partial refund, and the phone was abruptly disconnected on me. Overall, a truly awful experience."

"Nice little pub, near the station, with booths, each with its own screen so a sports pub then I suppose.... The top thing is the provision of USB plug sockets all over the place, which I really really like so 5 stars for this from me, this pub (apart from serving some great food and drinks), is or could be a life saver, or just make things that bit easier for folks with last few bars on their phone battery... The dish looked lovely, but it soon became apparent that the pasta was very under-cooked (I couldn't get a knife though it! and the chicken was dry. "Four ladies in their obvious 50’s tried to get in on a friday night fir a drink- before the comment we were not drunk at all- only had one drink somewhere else. The bouncer asked fir ID for which we all laughed then realised he was serious. I happened to have my driving licence which he then scratched to check it was not fake!!! He said it was company policy that everyone had to have ID however one of the group had been there a few weeks before on a Friday at the sane and was allowed in. This is policy gone made! Never felt so humiliated! Will never go there again. The world has gone mad! We were not rude, noisy or drunk. Dont expect to be treated like that at my age!"

"The reservation process was straightforward, and our table for six was ready upon arrival. The staff were attentive and very helpful. "I placed an order this afternoon from Papa John's in Crewe through Just Eat for a delivery at 7pm, which was confirmed at 4:22pm. When 7:20pm rolled around and I still hadn't received my order, I called Papa John's in Crewe to inquire about it. I was told that the driver could arrive any minute. After waiting for half an hour and still not receiving my order, I called again and was given the same response. Feeling misled, I requested that my order be cancelled and a refund be issued. However, I was informed that this was not possible as the order was already on its way. The pizza finally arrived after 8pm, over an hour late, with no added chilies and the Hot Buffalo sauce missing. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the service and quality of my order and will not be ordering from Papa John's in Crewe again."

"We've drank and eaten in this pub since moving to the area 8 years ago. It's always had potential, with a seperate dining room, bar and outside area but nobody has ever put the effort in... Until Now! Visiting today, the dining area has been re-decorated, pool table re-surfaced, new TVs, outside area going through a refit etc. New beer lines being added.. This should soon be a contender to the popular locals Red Lion and Markeaton. Bar staff always friendly and approachable, great family pub. Speaking to the new manager, it's clear he cares about the pub doing well, and is already putting in the hard work. It's a Stonegate pub, so you get the great food and prices and regular updates to the menu. I mean who can go wrong with a alcoholic drink and burger for less than £10! Weely quiz every Thursday which you can do on your smartphone and play for big prizes nationally. Keep up the good work and we wish you every success for the future"

"I was surprised to receive a text while en route to the restaurant stating that my table, reserved for 6:30 PM, would be needed again at 8 PM. Having to finish an expensive meal in just an hour and a half is quite disappointing! Fortunately, the restaurant was quiet on Wednesday evening, with only five tables occupied. However, given these conditions, we won't be returning. When I made the reservation, there was no indication of any time limit on our table."

"Really nice pub, great views of the whole of Portsmouth. The good first, food and service was excellent, 100% recommend! Now the sad bit. My sister and her husband booked this pub for our mothers wake. Many of our guests (15ish) didn 't get their desserts even though it was charged for. The bar staff said we could purchase another dessert as the table 17 tab (our tab) was now closed. We were told the reason was we didn 't eat fast enough and they now didn 't have staff to make the desserts. About 30 mins later the manager came over and offered us a refund on all the people who didn 't get a dessert. He did confirm the desserts were charged for under the table 17 tab. Yes many of us were frustrated, we said it was ok to keep the money and we left. Very saddened to write a review like this."

"Last month ordered pizza. Took about an hr, cold, congealed cheese...you know the drill. This time they 've excelled themselves. After an hr I phoned up to ask where dinner was. Shortage of drivers was to blame. Told them I didn 't want a repeat of the previous order IE cold. Was assured they hadn 't cooked it yet and it 'd be hot when it arrived. Said it would be 15-20 mins. Yep you 've guessed it, no sign of it after 20 mins or indeed 50 mins. Phoned again. Was assured again the driver was on way. Another 10 minutes and the driver turns up. Lets see if you, dear reader can guess the state of the 'piping hot ' pizza. Ah yes.....It was more a lump of something than a food item by now. Phoned yet again to complain about it and asked to speak to someone in management. Was told the I couldn 't speak to the manager was he was busy making pizzas and getting deliveries ready but if I wanted another pizza I could pay for another one but it would take two hrs to deliver. If I wanted a refund they couldn 't do it instore so I 'd have to go on the website and find the customer services number. In summing up there 's plenty of kebab shops in Coli that 'll do you a nicer pizza than PJs so we 'll be giving some of them a look from now on as it would appear that giving a toss about customers ain 't high on Papa Johns list of priorities. Typical big corporation mentality. We 've had your money so sod ya. Ho hum"

"Turing Tap has long been a favourite of ours. Several ales on tap at moderate prices, and a convenient location, plus food available. Space is generally not hard to find too. The music can be a little too loud for convenient conversation, and I am not sure how famous introvert Alan Turing would feel about this particular tribute The Oxford was at least as good a name but for the main part it simply has what you want from a pub."

"first to say we had delivered great pizzas and the Hove staff were excellent in sorting my initial problem and immediately again additional money from a website error / glitch at ordering online I put in the right discount code but on the payment on the...card it had lost the discount code and in the grunde loaded me twice. I called the load who canceled the order right now and I ordered everything this. the pizzas were great and well made to the Hove staff for sorting this and for their personal customer service. However, when I checked with my credit card provider, they said that papa johns uk are on their art list, as this happens frequently and I should report it to the papa john office. After they finally have contact with them, they simply do not realize that it is not to believe that this has happened and how they beat my head against a brick wall very bad office very good hove store i will be back as soon as I do not have to use this website"
