"Relaxed grazing family meal Booked for 530pm. No rush to order. Welcomed by owner who was keen to help and guide. 2 friendly dogs residents which our youngest loved. Felt like being welcomed to a friendly home host. Explained he had a host staff member down which was fine because we were in no rush. In fact it felt relaxed and allowed us to settle in and relax after a busy afternoon. Lots of interesting selections of grazing and main meal options. Well, we could not have anticipated the quality of the cooking. We asked for things to be sent out as they were ready (good option and we grazed away for our stay. Good quality food and wine and seriously reasonable prices. Our 20something to teenage boys left satisfied and full, as did we. Unassuming and delightful visit in this hidden gem. Go without a timescales and enjoy an unhurried but genuinely satisfying and tasty selection of home cooked delights from this skilled and talented chef who caters for tastes young and old. Pure joy for a group who are not always easy to please. Recommend the garlic prawns (simply phenomenal , garlic mushrooms (like I’ve never tasted! , Mac and cheese (pleased a 13 Yr old, hard to please USA foody addict and sirloin steak which was tasty beyond measure. Bottle of Sauvignon was cheap by restaurant standards but good quality too. Recommended by a tricky group who are hard to please in their entirety, usually but all left wanting a return visit. Wish we lived closer as we would be regulars!"

"Visited in September on an event weekend and couldn't have had a better experience. To say that, what I had, was better than any Indian meal I've EVER had, doesn't do it justice. Service was impeccable, food was well presented and was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. You know when it's gorgeous when the table is quiet, except for appreciative noises and every mouthful makes you close your eyes and savour every mouthful. Started off with with the vegetable platter which was crisp, but not greasy, and were so morish. I rarely have onion bhajees, because they're usually soft and all you can taste is the oil, but could've gladly eaten more. Their signature mint sauce was something else, and judging by the standard of the starter, I couldn't wait to see what the main course would be like. Main course did not disappoint, it was was the best biryani I've ever tasted. Some Biryani's are just too dry, and although this dish came with a vegetable curry, it certainly did not need it, but both dishes complemented each other perfectly. I don't know what spices they used but they did this dish proud. If you’ve never experienced good naan bread, you are in for a treat, as this bread is the perfect combination of chewy and crispy, buttery and garlicky. It’s exactly what every Indian dish needs to complement the otherwise bright and intense flavors. The only thing that took a long time, was trying to decide on what to have, as everything looked gorgeous. The menu catered for vegans and vegetarians and even carnivores would enjoy the vegetable dishes. This restaurant is, therefore, not your average and atypical Indian restaurant. The attention to detail, specialised dishes and level of presentation were incomparable to any other restaurant I've visited. The standard held here is more akin to a top restaurant in a city, rather than a historic small village in watchet. Both my partner and I would highly recommend this restaurant, as it was to us, and will definitely return again. Vegetarian options: Wide choice of dishes, extremely delicious, you will not be left wanting. Wheelchair accessibility: Was unable to enter on mobility scooter due to the double entrance doors and doorframes, so parked it outside and used my walking stick instead. Entrance ramps could have solved this, but it would have been in the way in any event, but wheelchairs would fare better. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Vegetable Biryani Recommendation for vegetarians Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings Large vegetarian selection"
