"Visited in September on an event weekend and couldn't have had a better experience. To say that, what I had, was better than any Indian meal I've EVER had, doesn't do it justice. Service was impeccable, food was well presented and was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. You know when it's gorgeous when the table is quiet, except for appreciative noises and every mouthful makes you close your eyes and savour every mouthful. Started off with with the vegetable platter which was crisp, but not greasy, and were so morish. I rarely have onion bhajees, because they're usually soft and all you can taste is the oil, but could've gladly eaten more. Their signature mint sauce was something else, and judging by the standard of the starter, I couldn't wait to see what the main course would be like. Main course did not disappoint, it was was the best biryani I've ever tasted. Some Biryani's are just too dry, and although this dish came with a vegetable curry, it certainly did not need it, but both dishes complemented each other perfectly. I don't know what spices they used but they did this dish proud. If you’ve never experienced good naan bread, you are in for a treat, as this bread is the perfect combination of chewy and crispy, buttery and garlicky. It’s exactly what every Indian dish needs to complement the otherwise bright and intense flavors. The only thing that took a long time, was trying to decide on what to have, as everything looked gorgeous. The menu catered for vegans and vegetarians and even carnivores would enjoy the vegetable dishes. This restaurant is, therefore, not your average and atypical Indian restaurant. The attention to detail, specialised dishes and level of presentation were incomparable to any other restaurant I've visited. The standard held here is more akin to a top restaurant in a city, rather than a historic small village in watchet. Both my partner and I would highly recommend this restaurant, as it was to us, and will definitely return again. Vegetarian options: Wide choice of dishes, extremely delicious, you will not be left wanting. Wheelchair accessibility: Was unable to enter on mobility scooter due to the double entrance doors and doorframes, so parked it outside and used my walking stick instead. Entrance ramps could have solved this, but it would have been in the way in any event, but wheelchairs would fare better. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Vegetable Biryani Recommendation for vegetarians Highly recommend Vegetarian offerings Large vegetarian selection"

"The visit started off well. The guy who seated us, seemingly the manager, was great. The people skills were there and he helped my colleague with their gluten-free options with a thorough run through of the menu. Very happy, and the menu looks good. Our server arrived, and when asked ‘what size’ the cokes on draft are, he proceeds to estimate the size of the glass with his hands (which well exceeds even a Johnny Depp mega pint). On arrival, it turns out the size was what seems like 330ml, and there was a mix-up with our cokes/diet cokes which the server had to sort, before returning to our tables with two wet glasses, which left our table in a state as it was on a slight slope. Ok, no bother, it’s not a big deal. The wait for the food was not long, especially since we were glad the food seemed home-cooked, according to the menu. Considering we paid £11.50 each for our meals, we were very happy with that! Until it arrived. It is, no joke, the saddest plate I have ever seen. We were so shocked, that we were just staring at our plates for a minute… … only to realise that we had not been given cutlery, and no server was around. For a long while. Finally, we got up and walked over to a station and grabbed it ourselves. Paying up was just a painful experience, when we asked for two itemised receipts. We got two copies, and I had to explain that they need to be split in half so we can claim it back. Off he went again, a second time. For a long while. Again. I work in Michelin dining, and I always hesitate leaving reviews of substandard visits. It’s unnecessary, and especially when you get what you pay for. This, however, was sadly just a waste of money, as we left wishing we had just gone Spoons. Sorry guys, better luck next time!"

"As a group of 4, we left TGI Friday in Staines feeling very disappointed. We had a £180 bill for food, 1 refillable diet coke, 1 coke, and 4 x 2 cocktails for £16. There was absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant. We ordered 4 meals, and one of our group had opted for a sharing starter as her main. This arrived first, and we had to find a waitress to remind that we had only ordered 4 food items that should all come together, also to remind of the cola that had not arrived. So one of our Group ate alone and had no food while we all ate. When the mains arrived, 2 of the group had a half rack of ribs, which tasted really good but was honestly very poorly sized for £20. The upgraded loaded fries, which added an additional charge, were less than half the size of normal fries. The refillable diet cola was taken away to be refilled and never brought back until requested. Desserts were luscious and totally worth their cost. We went to order a final round of drinks only to be told the bar was closed, with no notification when this was happening. Granted time had passed quicker than we had noticed, but most places will give you some notification. The restaurant was really not busy. There was an issue with each of the toilets in the ladies, from missing locks to no toilet paper to not flushing. I know some of these are not major complaints, but altogether, I left the restaurant feeling hard done by for what we paid, in terms of value for money , from a food and service perspective."
