"My friend and I visited this restaurant during the summer to enjoy a cocktail and sit outside on their terrace. The area was beautifully decorated with artificial flowers and grass, and the staff was friendly."

"Don’t usually write reviews but we had a fantastic time. Food was 10/10 and a special mention for MARIA who served us for a short time, she was very attentive to our needs and made the whole experience 10x better. The restaurant looked busy as well which is always good news. Make sure to come at happy hour, we got a lot of food bottle of wine for £80. We will be coming back."

"I have visited this restaurant several times and will be returning with new friends who all enjoyed it as much as I did! They offer a wide variety of affordable vegan options, especially during their 50% off lunch menu. If you are dining with both vegans/vegetarians and meat eaters, I would suggest not opting for the all-you-can-eat sushi deal as it has less variety for non-vegans, though still good. The staff is always polite and efficient, never had any issues. Just remember to treat others, including the staff, with respect and you will have a great time. I only had a minor issue (which happens to the best of us), but it was quickly and politely resolved by speaking with an employee. Be mindful of your order as leftovers cannot be taken home. I highly recommend this place and look forward to bringing someone else along next month!"

"The food was mediocre at best, lacking any distinct or memorable flavors. The service was slow and inattentive, making the overall dining experience less enjoyable. The atmosphere was also lacking, with little ambiance or charm to enhance the meal. Overall, I was disappointed and do not feel compelled to return to this restaurant in the future."

"we had a waiting queue to enter the building from 6.50 to 7.15 together with many other people. that meant that we were too late for our booking around 19 o'clock. around 8.20 we had to start with only served and break our main courses. no one approached our table after our order to offer further drinks or to take off starter plates. we approached the personal in the opposite to ask for our main courses (whoever in the suit jacket) said that the net would be right with us, another 15 minutes passed and we could not wait anymore, so we had to go. for the delay we have not been offered a declaration or otherwise. the access to the building with a person who sits each one is a bad system that stood us in the cold on the road."

"Went here 2 weeks ago on the weekend. It’s our first time here in Sushimania Reading. When we entered the restaurant, they didn’t welcome or ask if we wanted a table for 2 or 4. We were standing by the entrance, waiting for them to approach us. The staff were looking at us, didn’t even talk to us, and they were laughing near the bar/cashier. After 15 minutes of waiting, we tried to ask staff if we could get a table, and they told us no table available yet, and they would call us if the table were available. After 5 mins, the table was available. We sat, and they handed us the menu. Their food was scrummy, and everything was satisfying. I ordered their Octopus which was good, and their deep fried tofu not amazed with the tofu, but the sauce was delicious. We also ordered their wakame, and I loved the serving size. It made me happy. I also ordered their sushi and tempura which was also good. The sauce of the prawn tempura was a bit bland it could add a little flavour. We also ordered ramen, which was also okay large serving as well! Initially, I was disappointed because the people behind us got their order immediately compared to ours even though we ordered first. And they were of the same nationality as the restaurant staff/owner. Regardless of that, the food was good. Maybe improve the service and customer approach next time"

"Very poor. More like a takeaway with tables. Didn’t have the options advertised on their website. Order via a QR code and pay upfront. No waiting staff- just servers. Food took half an hour to come and it all comes at once (starters mains) and then the drinks came after. Food was edible but nothing special. Toilets weren’t clean. I will never go back"

"I was looking for an appetizer and a nice restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday. Ambience and authenticity were excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, we chose set menu £35pp. Food was excellent, but wished there were more dishes and lots of food per person was not enough I.e ordered Teriyaki salmon and there was only 1 piece of slam that we had to share. I felt that when we paid per person, I would like the food for each person to have been the same quantities, Dessert was beautiful. Would definitely recommend and visit again, but would be a bit more careful with the choice of food. Perfect location for appetizers in the Royal Albert Hall"

"Real mixed bag. We had 4 starters and the Sunday dinners (Chicken and beef). First the bad, the chicken thogh meatballs were shocking. No flavour, tasted sour, really bad. Tempura prawns were OK, but 4 prawns for £10 is really poor value. The seaweed that came with the prawns was chewy and not Crispy. Burnt ends and Sriricha ribs were good. Sunday dinner was really good. Meal type: Dinner"

"I’ve been to Kintan at Oxford Circus before, but this is the first time I went to the branch. The food was really great as expected. But the service was a bit odd. The waiters kept on interrupting us asking whether they can bring the bill, almost as if they wanted to get rid of us. That was very annoying, because we a bunch of friends meeting after about a year, and we were trying have some quality conversations, and it’s not ideal when you keep getting disturbed every 3 minutes…. In the end we had to tell him to stop interrupting us and that we will call him when we are ready to pay. I have loved in Japan for 5 years, and this is definitely not the Japanese kind of service. In Japan almost all restaurants have a calling bell, and the waiters do not disturb or eavesdrop on their customers’ conversations , and come to the table only when they are needed. If Kintan wants to provide a truly Japanese yaki-niku experience, they should learn some this Japanese service standards as well."

"The only complaint I have is that everything felt a bit worn out and not take care of. The menus were falling apart. The floor was sticky. The decor also felt a little off. Just looks like the person who owns it doesn’t really care all that much for it. But the chef we had was charming and the food was good. My kids loved it and I haven’t had tepanyaki in years. Overall a pleasant experience, just don’t walk in with high expectations."

"great food, great atmosphere, great service. we really enjoyed eating in cocochan. booked table day on a busy day off, so our table was a bit small for five adult, but would not expect such a great place to have a larger table available on the same day. will return definitiw. for good mocktails. would recommend the virgin mojito"

"Okasan, meaning Mother in Japanese, is a bijou restaurant on the fashionable Portobello Road in W10. A yearning for a plate of sashimi, tempura and some dumplings drew me in to have a final treat before the rigours of co-running my own food business set in after a brief and well deserved break. My companion, a lover of Japanese salad dressings ordered a simple salad, chicken karaage, deep fried chicken and ginger with a spicy mayonnaise and we agreed on a delicate Pinot Girgot blush, a Sospiro priced at £17.00. The salad arrived first and the dressing was so good I had to beg the waitress to tell us what the ingredients were. The chef duly obliged. It was a mix of vinegar, peanuts, sugar, apple juice, water, salt, vegetable oil, sesame seeds and soy sauce. Knowing what is in your food doesn't mean you can recreate the same taste, but I'm going to give it a damned good try. It was simply sensational. Next came the steamed and pan fried dumplings; little golden nuggets of yumminess. My sashimi was spankingly fresh and served with the usual wasabi and the thin slivers of ginger had the perfect tartness to marry with the oily fish. If I had a little gripe it was that there was no daikon, the shredded Japanese radish (or mooli) that has a lovely crunch to it and nearly always accompanies it. The deep fried chicken that had been marinated in soy and ginger was delicious and the spicy mayo packed a punch. I don't recall ever seeing mayo on a Japanese menu before, (this was mayo mixed with chili sauce) but it worked. The wine, ice cold and very pleasant quaffing vino to boot slipped down all too easily. Being a greedy git I then ordered some prawn tempura, the batter of which was light as a feather and a crispy, heavenly coating for the juicy king prawns inside. A double espresso later and the bill came to £60. Japanese food is never cheap (especially when you think of the price of sashimi grade fish which only lasts a day at most) but the flavours, the delicacy, the quality of a good Japanese experience is well worth the price in my book and that's exactly what we had. I'm already looking forward to the next visit."

"Absolutely shocking experience! We (me and my 10 yo nephew visited Yo! Sushi on Cribbs Causeway on Friday around 2pm. We were sat very quickly and the lady explained how things work as it was our first time there. Then we were asked to wait for her to bring us chopsticks for good 15 minutes even though the place was not busy at all. When we finally started eating (food was ok, nothing wrong with it altough very expensive for what it was but I am not complaining about this as the prices are cleary shown on the menu my nephew had asked for a glass as he was thirsty. Guess what? Another 10 minutes of waiting... Shortly after receiving the glass he spilled the water all over the table and himself (kids... so I asked the waiter for some napkins and general help as all the water was going down on the floor and he couldn 't continue eating there. Guess what again? They have never come back to us with any help or even more napkins! So the boy finished eating his sushi standing in the middle of the wet floor in his wet clothes! I was so angry that I did not order anything else apart from the first plate and I requested the bill. While the lady who met us at the entrance was wandering around pretending being busy, another staff member brought the bill but he was clearly not happy with 'the mess we made ' (maybe if his colleague reacted to my help request instead of ignoring us... . I paid and stormed out of there as I was extremely angry and hungry. It was the worst customer service experience in my life and I will surely never ever go back there."

"We called ahead yesterday after enjoying a drink, and ended our meal with the delicious bread and butter pudding with custard. My friends had the cheesecake with a unique twist, the scallops, and the lamb kebab. We also discovered the Moroccan mint tea with rose, which is a must-try. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning for our next visit to London."

"We went to Wagamama Salisbury for lunch, having been quite a few times before but not for several months. I’m not sure what might have changed but it was a real disappointment. On the plus side, the service was reasonable and both the tata squid and hoisin duck buns were tasty and quick to the table. However, the tantoman beef ramen and grilled chicken ramen were both very bland with broth that I can only describe as tasting like school dinner gravy. Both were left less than half finished. Equally, the chicken and prawn pad Thai was quite greasy and again, bland with no spice heat at all. The dish was saved through the addition of lashings of soy sauce and chilli flakes at the table, but that shouldn’t have had to have been the case. Despite seeing the ramen bowls hardly touched, our server didn’t ask if all was okay, they simply cleared the table and reminded me that I could pay via an app. All of this coming in at a whisker shy of £70 as well, (yes £70 for three noodle dishes and some squid balls) left a very bitter taste in my mouth, pun intended. I won’t be back."

"love that you can order dishes from different menus! we sat on the terrace and order a mix of tasty things, including the Kimchi-Fries that were incredible! the terrace was beautiful and the heating kept us toast. I was on a date. I don't eat sushi, so it was nice that I have something! would also be ideal for a large group. only four stars because the drinks came a few minutes after eating, but I understand that it cannot be coordinated when ordering them from different menus. will come back in any case!"
