"Eh. I could just leave it at that, but I won't. I was in St Andrews for a conference, my colleague and I were staying overnight and needed somewhere fairly reasonable to go for dinner. Mitchell's certainly was reasonable and had a decent selection of different mains. The place is quite cool inside and I liked the décor, plus they had steak pie on the menu so I was pretty happy to begin with. Service was originally pretty good, but after we'd finished our meal and refused desserts/coffee, we were just left sitting there, basically ignored by staff members and ended up having to actually go up to the till to pay. If it was really busy then obviously I could forgive this, but it was pretty quiet! We both ordered steak pie and weren't massively impressed. The steak pie itself was ok (although more juices instead of gravy and verrrrry herby and so were the veggies, but the mash tasted of nothing and was actually lumpy! They were actually serving steak pie as part of lunch the next day at the conference, and we both ended up going for that too, to try and make up for the night before! (It was delicious, highly recommend the steak pie at the Fairmont! I had a few suspicions while I was there that it was probably G1, especially due to the fairly rubbish service (seems to be a common theme among G1 places and the decor had a pretty familiar theme too. After a bit of Googling I confirmed this and was pretty gutted. Had I realised before we went in I probably would've suggested somewhere else! The wee deli at the front was pretty cute and I could be tempted back there if I'm ever in St Andrews again, but I don't think I'd pay the restaurant another visit."

"The atmosphere was lively thanks to the party and entertainment, but the food left much to be desired. I started with king prawns, which were served bruschetta-style with a chili oil that was quite unpleasant. For my main course, I ordered chicken pesto pasta, but there was hardly any chicken to be found. I was asked three times if I had finished, and honestly, I barely touched the dish! Then dessert came, a cheesecake smothered in cream that was completely unnecessary. My husband ordered the same starter and then lamb chops, which he found unimpressive. He also said that the crumble he ordered looked like it was served in an ashtray! Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience due to the food."

"During our visit to Evesham today, we spontaneously decided to try out this restaurant. The exterior was inviting and once inside, we were warmly welcomed and quickly seated. The menu featured a variety of delicious Italian dishes at reasonable prices. Our drinks arrived promptly, followed by our starters and mains. Despite being full, we couldn't resist trying the desserts. The food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the restaurant had a clean and sophisticated atmosphere. We will definitely be returning!"

"Came here today and have to say I wasn’t overly impressed my husband and I both ordered the hamhock and mature cheese sandwiches with fries and my daughter had a margarita pizza. The sandwiches did not have the correct cheese in it was Red Leicester not mature cheddar but the onion marmalade on them was lovely they absolutely rip you off with the drinks the first bottle of water arrived open and already used which is rather starange when it’s supposed to be a branded bottle we then received another bottle of water which had also already been opened which leads me to believe they are refilling them with tap water especially as the bottle we received was wet on the outside and it wasn’t from condensation my daughter also wasn’t overly impressed with her pizza her words were I can make better myself so overall not a fantastic experience it cost £52 for two sandwiches with a handful of fries a pizza a open bottle of water a glass of coke and a glass of orange cordial safe to say we won’t be back"

"I’ve passed this place a number of times and really liked the look of it, always busy and seemed popular. Headed down for brunch today and was really disappointed. Ordered the French toast but told they no longer do it, so opted for scrambled egg. Took a while to come and alas were an odd texture and completely tastleless. They were done in the microwave and suspect it was powdered egg rather than actual eggs. Seems a real shame as on the menu they state they use local ingredients and the best stuff made with love. This didn’t seem to apply today, staff seemed harassed. Coffee was good which was a saving grace but I won’t be back for food. All in all overpriced and disappointing."

"Meal Type: Lunch Price Range: £10–20 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 If you're looking for a delightful lunch spot, I highly recommend this place! The Toasted Tea Cake and Carrot Cake were standout dishes that truly impressed. The food was delicious, earning a perfect score of 5. The service was equally exceptional, also deserving a 5, making for a pleasant dining experience. Lastly, the atmosphere was inviting and contributed to an enjoyable meal, again rated at 5. Overall, a fantastic spot to enjoy a lovely lunch!"
"As we were walking to another place for a late brunch, the food displayed in the window caught our attention and made us stop in our tracks. We're so glad we decided to go inside! Everything is freshly prepared, and the smoothies and juices were absolutely incredible; they were truly a highlight. I ordered the quiche along with a selection of delicious salads from the counter, while my boyfriend enjoyed the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. This place really understands the importance of high-quality, fresh ingredients, and the service was outstanding as well. It's definitely made it onto our weekend brunch list, and we can't wait to return. Thank you again!"

"I wanted to take a moment to highlight the excellent service I received today from Harry and Theo. Despite being overwhelmed with numerous customers and a bustling restaurant, they managed to make everyone feel welcomed with their smiles, laughter, and jokes. The atmosphere was so enjoyable that everyone seemed to be lining up just to chat with them. It was a refreshing change from the usual hectic days at the restaurant. Thank you for handling the stress with grace and professionalism while still providing a warm and inviting experience."

"Having looked at previous reviews, I don't know if there has been recent changes of staff or management but all I can say is we had an amazing Tapas lunch. We had no issues with staff, in fact they were very good. The Tapas was amazing. The best I have experienced in the UK and well worth the money. Some nice beer choices too. Lovely setting (it was a nice day and we sat outside), and will visit again when next in the area. We would thoroughly recommend based on our experience."

"According to Google there open at 8am but yesterday around 11am mark I tried to buy me a tea and according to guy there yesterday who was eating at the time who rudely said that they weren't open yet. I was ok fine. As I tried to look at the menu he kept on rudely saying they weren't yet so I left and then went elsewhere for lunch later on in the day. If the guy hadn't been so rude as I tried to look at menu I might of eaten lunch their. I suggest that they change their opening hours on Google and put a menu on the outside so people can look at it without being rudely interrupted."

"I work nearby work nearby on occasion and will always make a point of popping in to Lounge Cafe for a coffee or their butter chicken salad. I have come to know and love the owners (Ma and Steve) over the course of 4 or 5 years. Whilst this style of restaurant and cooking may not appeal to the Michelin Restaurant Inspectors, and having eaten at a few three star establishments, I can honestly say that I get a warmer glow and satisfaction from eating here than anywhere else. They fill my belly and soul with happiness. I don't want to get too crazy, but beyond the basic nutrition that sustains life, food is also a cornerstone of family, identity and love. You're not going to get that from a minimum wage microwaver in your local gastropub but you will find it in buckets in this charming, beautiful gem. I must have had well in excess of 200 chicken salads over the years which sounds a bit mental, but it's that good! GO!"

"This takeaway cafe serves delicious, fresh food at a good price. The salads and rolls are excellent and filling and the fruit pots are amazing. Filled to the brim with fresh and exotic fruit. I have no idea where it comes from but as well as berries, grapes, melon, oranges and apples you will always get some exotic fruit. We have had , passion fruit, kumquat, kiwi, mango, pomegranate seeds at different times When you visit make sure you have the orange trifle too……it’s the best I have ever had, apart from my gran’s of course! We live 25 mins away from Dunbar, we wish we lived nearer beaus of the Food Hamper!"

"I recently had breakfast at this restaurant and it was an amazing experience. The price per person was between £30-£40, but it was definitely worth it. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a perfect score of 5. I highly recommend trying the Traditional Breakfast and the Greek Salad - they were both delicious."

"Having visited L'anima on several occasions, I decided to use the venue for a surprise birthday for my wife. This was the first time they'd catered for such a large party (around 20 of us in total) and the place was creaking at the seams but we managed to seat everyone with a little ingenuity! The standard of food as usual was excellent and once again, Bart produced a variety flawless, high quality dishes, all ready at the same time. Some of the dishes were quite literally cooked to order on the spot and still everything was ready at the right time! The group was served by Evelyne and for one waitress serving food and drinks to a group of around 20 people, everyone got their food at the same time, and yet she still had time to chat to the customers. Many larger venues could well take note of the standards employed by this relatively small place and small number of staff! After the event, everyone I have spoken to commented on the quality of the food, the ability for everything to be served at the same time and the general atmosphere of the place. The staff really do make an effort to make people feel welcome and I know many of the party who had their first experience of L'anima will be going back again! Well done L'amima VERY IMPRESSED!"
