"So where do I begin.... I thought I 'd try this establishment again after having a good ish experience, this time As a take away. Please understand I live 2 roads away from this restaurant and waited an hour and 5 minutes for my food! Whilst on the phone to an incompetent manager the food was received and was STONE cold! The excuse was given to me from the manager that yes it is only 25 minutes late what is the big problem which I brought to his attention that it was NOT 25 minutes late as I was told 30 minutes remember 1hour 5minutes! I requested a full refund in which I was called by a senior manager who was at home. This coward of a man is rude, unknowledgeable, incompetent and disgusting and is very lucky he has not met me in person! Especially after hanging up on me because he didn 't like it when I made a fool of his solutions as they were totally a joke. He started the conversation by calling me a liar, suggesting I TEXT him my bank details for a refund to which I declined for obvious reason, he then proceeded to shout and try to be sarcastic! Biggest mistake to make and didn 't like it when I put him in his place. Then demanded I never order from him again and that I was wasting my time as his restaurant was the absolute best I the area! HAHAHA funny mate. After an hour of arguing and him contradicting his own points I made sure he understood that receiving my refund immediately was the best solution as I would take this further. I will be seeing him"

"Birmingham is known as one of the two capitals of Indian cuisine in England, alongside Bradford, and is famous for its Balti dishes, with countless Balti houses throughout the city. Amidst this wealth of delicious and affordable Indian food, Pushkar stands out as a more upscale and pricier option that has still managed to build a loyal following. What sets Pushkar apart is its elegant atmosphere, the exceptional quality of its ingredients, and its inventive dessert menu. My first visit to Pushkar happened by chance while I was staying near Brindley Place. Passing by, I decided to take a look at the menu and was intrigued by the duck masala. It surpassed my expectations—the rich tomato-based curry was bursting with flavors of garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red chilies. It was perfectly complemented by basmati rice and a side of raita. Since then, I’ve returned several times and enjoyed every dish I’ve tried. The murgh korma is a standout, offering a luxurious, creamy, and nutty curry that’s ideal if you prefer milder spice. The creative desserts are a particular highlight for me. The gajar ka halwa tart served with pistachio ice cream is my favorite. While the garam masala brûlée didn’t differ much from a classic crème brûlée, with just a subtle hint of cinnamon, it was still very enjoyable. Another unique treat is the chocomosa—a filo samosa filled with chocolate and roasted almonds, accompanied by cappuccino ice cream. I’m left wondering why no one else has thought to create a chocolate samosa before, and how I had never tried one until now. If you find yourself in Birmingham, a visit to Pushkar is a must. The restaurant truly lives up to its accolades, including the 2015 British Curry Award, the 2015 Best of Broad Street Award, and the 2015 English Curry Award."

"On arrival we were warmly greeted and seated straight away. Our drinks order was taken and these arrived quickly, we were also able to order poppadoms and pickles whilst deciding on what to eat. If I was to have one slight issue, and this is a common problem with many restaurants, it would be that the soft drinks range should be just as extensive as the alcohol range etc. and of similar size ranges, not just tiny little bottles. As our group had not met up for some considerable time we did take quite a while before placing our main food order, but this was not a problem for the staff as they were available when we required them but they remained in the background and were not pushy or overbearing in trying to get us to place our order. The food menu was wide ranging and well explained, the staff were also more than willing to alter dishes to accommodate dietary requirements where possible and were knowledgable about the ingredients of each dish. The quality of the food was very good and it was evident that care and attention had been put into each and every dish that we had. The food was well presented and portion sizes were plentiful, certainly everyone was very well fed. After our main course was cleared we were provided with hot towels to freshen our hands, and with out bill we received chocolates for everyone. A good time was definitely had by everyone. I thank all the staff at the Joy Raj for a great evening out."

"I'm currently studying for masters disertation and came in here on a quiet Tuesday morning to have breakfast and work. I'd come here before a few weeks ago when the manager was in. He was lovely and let me stay for 4+ hours even though I only ordered a coffee and I'd been raving about how lovely this place was for the past few weeks. This morning I went and arrived at 11:30 and asked to sit in and was told that I could only sit on the bar I pointed to an empty table and the waiter grudgingly allowed me to sit. I was sitting next to two other people on their laptops neither of whom had ordered food. I ordered pancakes and a coffee (asked for no banana on my pancakes) and bottle water, the coffee never came and pancakes had banana on but I left it because the staff seemed stressed. After only an hour and half I was asked to aggressively leave because the cafe has a 2 hour limit. Despite the fact that the person next to me who hadn't ordered food was not moved a long and there was no queue of people waiting. Little did the know I was about to order lunch so they missed out on my service. If you're the lovely manger reading this then I would talk to your staff about the tone they are taking with customers. I understand a 2 hour laptop rule but I was only there for an hour and a half compared to people next to me and I felt like I was picked on. because I was a younger woman working in the cefe covered to the middle aged people sitting next to me."
