"Solid mexican restaurant. It's better than the big chains (e.g. Tortilla, Chilango, etc. , but not the best I've tried in London, so it's a good middle ground. The nachos were particularly good, however my partner had the chorizo quesadillas and she didn't like the chorizo used, but apart from that, no problem. "Went in November to the Café. Wasn’t particularly busy, I’d guess there to be 50 people spread over about 10 tables? So why on earth we had to wait so long for anything is beyond me. It took 20, yes, 20 minutes to get the bill. A small piece of paper which details what you purchased and how much it costs. 20 minutes. The staff obviously knew their service was poor, they gave the dear lady a free Mojito which is excellent by the way. The guest IPA was Punk IPA. The menu was about 10 pages. Of which 1 page is the food, and no real direction to it what is a starter, a main, a dessert? I appreciate its Tapas but it doesn’t really explain. We had 3 plates, the Squid was beautiful. We had Pork as well as truffle enchiladas. I loved it, the wife didn’t. All in all, I wouldn’t come back unless service was drastically improved."

"It was out first visit to Cocina. Didn't like the open front means that the restaurant is not warm inside and is exposed to outside noise. Although our food arrived quickly, it was luke warm and one of the main courses seemed to be 50% rice. The only good thing is that the ladies serving were pleasant and helpful. Won't be going back there. Only one other couple in the restaurant this place is not going to survive!"

"I'm disappointed to share my experience at this restaurant. I had made a reservation for my partner and me, and upon our arrival, we entered and waited at the front for someone to seat us. Unfortunately, the staff seemed unprepared for their duties. We stood by the entrance while two employees chatted and laughed in the kitchen, seemingly oblivious to us. The restaurant was completely empty, which was not surprising given the service we received. We tried to get their attention, and while they glanced our way, they continued their conversation without acknowledging us. A member of the kitchen staff even came out to joke around, but we were ignored once again. Feeling quite frustrated and disheartened, we decided to leave. It’s unfortunate because I believe our dining experience could have been enjoyable if the staff had been attentive and professional."

"Review by Frau: The overall experience at this restaurant was good, with great starters, but there were a few disappointing aspects. Firstly, there was a delay in getting our food served. Secondly, the drinks we ordered were brought out inconsistently, with one of our drinks even given to another table. In terms of the food, my husband's steak and lamb were undercooked despite his request for them to be cooked thoroughly. The food was also too salty for my parents' liking, which is rare for us as a family who enjoys salty dishes. The prawn curry I had was advertised as a coconut curry but tasted predominantly of lime, which was unexpected. My sister's order of Tacos was initially forgotten until we reminded the waitress, who seemed reluctant to serve us and appeared disinterested. The cocktails we ordered seemed watered down, with little flavor. With improvements in communication and service, this restaurant has the potential to be a great dining spot."

The overall experience was good, the starters were great, but there were a few things that left it down. 1) It took a while to get our food out. 2) The drinks we ordered came out in Dribs and Drabs. At one point, a drink for our table was given to another table. We got the same drink twice. It seemed a lack of communication between the waiters. 3) The food was nice, but my husband ordered his steak and lamb to be moderately heavy, but when it came, it was practically raw. He couldn't even cut it in. The waitress was nice enough to take it back and cooked it a little more. 4) My parents food was much too salty we are a family that salt so for us to say it was too salty really something. The waitress was nice enough to take it back and when it came out, it was much better. 5) I had the prawn curry that was nice, it said it was a coconut Calc curry, but everything you could taste was lime, which I didn't make so much, but after a while it was a little sharp. 6) We called the waitress again when my sister had ordered Tacos, but she didn't want to, but when we called the waitress, she made it clear that she was fed/hearted to come to our table. She sighed before speaking and her body language clearly showed that she did not want to be there. 7) The cocktails seemed as if they had watered down. I got the Bramble and when it came, it just tasted soda water, that was not great and so did my sisters cocktail. With adjustments to settings and service, it could be a really great place."

"I wasn't impressed with the service. After being seated, we waited 15 minutes without receiving any menus, so we had to ask for them. We requested water for the table, but there were no glasses available, so we had to wait again. The waiter promised to bring complimentary tequila due to the delay, but it never showed up. Two people ordered fajitas and had to wait an additional 5 minutes for the tortillas, while the dish was served cold. We were a party of six, and two of our orders arrived about 15 minutes after everyone else's. On a positive note, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. However, the service was very disappointing."

"La Baronia really is the best restaurant in Southampton. The food never disappoints, the portions are substantial and the service is great no matter what day of the week you go on. "An excellent food choice for every time of the day. I've been a customer for 1.5 year now and this place never disappoints. Everything they serve apart from -obviously- pitas, are made in-store, fresh, every day, something that is definitely not the average for Britain. Living in Britain I'm sick and tired of pre-cooked and frozen, overpriced food. Even expensive chains still serve pre-cooked stuff. The proof? Your order arrives 10' after you place it. How long would a steak take to grill at home? 20-30mins? Why should a restaurant take less than that? This means it's pre-cooked. Mission Burrito definitely suffers from bad central management, they're doing their shops no favours for sure, however the Reading staff is always nice and helpful and keep the place sparkly clean, unlike many restaurants in Britain where hygiene is clearly not a priority. The country clearly has low hygiene standards and high tolerance to dirt, however Mission Burrito mainly employs mediterranean people, so they keep the place clean. Long story short, their food is ultra fresh, very well cooked, extrermely tasty, very very healthy, no fatty stuff there, or weird processed crappy ingredients. You can rest assured your money is well spent and your stomach will be happy. Management: give more credit to your staff, they fully deserve it!"

The only drawback is that if you have a small appetite and plan to take leftovers home, you should be aware that the food doesn't hold up well during travel. "My friend and I had a quick dinner here before going to a gig at Sheperds Bush Empire last week. The 2 for 1 cocktail deal was great (note: before 7pm). We ordered chips with guac and salsa which were very good and the fish tacos and chicken tacos. The food was really yummy, although you don't get much with each dish so I would recommend ordering a few things per person. The only real down side to our meal was when we made a second order from our waitress (when we realized it wasn't enough food). We ordered very clearly but she got it completely messed up. Two salsas came that we had not ordered we simply asked for two more of the dips we had already had. And only one quesadilla came when we had asked for two. A different waitress helped us sort out the problem and she was very kind and helpful (an American girl). We did find it a bit odd that she took away the salsas that were ordered wrong, rather then just ask if we wanted to keep them as a courtesy of us having to wait for the correct ones. Overall though, the food tasted great, the margaritas were yummy and the place itself was very cute."
