"My friend and myself had just paid to get into the philharmonic. We bought a drink and headed to the dance floor. Whilst we were dancing, a lady with short white hair stated that we were “in her space”. We stepped down onto the floor and next thing we knew, a ‘bouncer’ told us to go upstairs “for a chat” (we took a photo of the woman after she tried to get the bouncer to get us thrown out for being in her ‘space’ we followed the bouncer. I asked for his badge number but he refused to tell us accusing us of filming him which we hadn’t and have proof it was just the woman who told us “it’s my space”. He gave us plastic cups and told us we were to be “out now”. I stated “are you serious?” He said ‘yes you were in her space?’ I said ‘“Ain’t this a public place? And we were there first?” They did not listen to us I believe this was due to my appearance with a face tattoo and looking alternative. We hadn’t done anything wrong! My friend and I couldn’t believe we were getting thrown out for no reason. We were later informed she was “an employee” not my issue. We then observed the lady going into ‘Walkabout’ straight after getting us kicked out I confronted her and said “what was all that about?” She said “I didn’t intend to get you thrown out” my friend said “but you did get us thrown out” and she said “this is my space, get over it” who does she think she is? Have had many a good nights in philharmonic but we will NOT be returning after this treatment."

"I 've been here a few times. It 's a nice enough pub, with a good range of ales. The staff are friendly enough, and the drinks are decently priced. It 's always quite busy and popular among the locals. But I had a bit of a frustrating experience the other day. Me and a friend of mine were walking my dog. It began to rain so we decided to grab a drink somewhere whilst it settled down. We were near the grapes, so I whipped out my phone and googled whether dogs were allowed in the pub. Online it says a child and dog friendly pub... and that dogs [are] allowed inside . I thought brilliant, me and my mate can grab a quick pint whilst we wait for the rain to stop. We go in the pub. Nobody says a word or bats an eye lid. We buy our drinks and go to sit down. As soon as we sit down, the landlady comes over, and, very politely, says dogs are not allowed in the pub. I have no problem with this. A lot of pubs don 't allow dogs in because they can be noisy, dirty, and some people just don 't like dogs. It 's totally fair enough. But it was frustrating because it meant we then had to stand outside in the rain and the cold. The information online is clearly out of date and needs changing. I just thought I 'd do a review to give other dog walkers a heads up, and make the owners aware that the online information is incorrect. The pub itself though is nice enough though. I 'll definitely go again but next time I 'll have to leave the dog at home."
