"I 've been here a few times. It 's a nice enough pub, with a good range of ales. The staff are friendly enough, and the drinks are decently priced. It 's always quite busy and popular among the locals. But I had a bit of a frustrating experience the other day. Me and a friend of mine were walking my dog. It began to rain so we decided to grab a drink somewhere whilst it settled down. We were near the grapes, so I whipped out my phone and googled whether dogs were allowed in the pub. Online it says a child and dog friendly pub... and that dogs [are] allowed inside . I thought brilliant, me and my mate can grab a quick pint whilst we wait for the rain to stop. We go in the pub. Nobody says a word or bats an eye lid. We buy our drinks and go to sit down. As soon as we sit down, the landlady comes over, and, very politely, says dogs are not allowed in the pub. I have no problem with this. A lot of pubs don 't allow dogs in because they can be noisy, dirty, and some people just don 't like dogs. It 's totally fair enough. But it was frustrating because it meant we then had to stand outside in the rain and the cold. The information online is clearly out of date and needs changing. I just thought I 'd do a review to give other dog walkers a heads up, and make the owners aware that the online information is incorrect. The pub itself though is nice enough though. I 'll definitely go again but next time I 'll have to leave the dog at home."

Food was awful . I had mixed grill. Chips cold. Sausage over fried, chicken overcooked, gammon way too salty and the egg overcooked crispy and was like a shoe liner.

Very busy great location, good atmosphere. Food was processed, frozen food. I’d go for a drink in the lovely beer garden again, but not food. It was very dissatisfying. View menu

The restaurant was extremely unclean, with dirty tables and drink mats that appeared to be very old. The menus were also filthy. I do not plan on returning to this establishment.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on Good Friday with my grandson. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the Southern fried chicken burger I ordered was delicious. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

Food basic but tasty. Portions small we had mushy peas but it was literally a dessert spoonful and a very small portion of chips. Possibly because the plates are small! Service and staff good and atmosphere lively. View menu

The food was simple but decent. It was what we expected. The restaurant/bar and bathrooms were a bit worn out, especially the men's restroom. The staff did a great job considering the large number of customers, including a funeral and an England football match. Would I return? Maybe.

The pub didn’t have a record of my booking but found us a table for 6. Ordering was straightforward and we didn’t wait long for our food which all came at the same time…we ordered a child meal for our 9 year old which consisted of 2 chicken coujons and a few chips (not enough for him)The rest of the group enjoyed their meals..fish chips, scampi chips and burgers.
