"Great resturant, really good food. Prawn Coaktail was lovely and the Fillet Steak was cooked to perfection. Great friendly service and Rachel on reception was very helpful. Only slight disappointment for me was the Panna Cotta. And somebody really really needs to do something about the play list. Backstreet Backstreets back and Another Level Freak Me on a loop mixed in with a compliation of the worst of the and No. Just No. That playlist is completely inconsistent with the entire hotel and resturant. Apart from that we really enjoyed it and will be back"
"had a nice family dinner with good choices for all including a child and a vegetarian. the two veggie burger options were great, haggis nachos fab and the salmon salad plentiful. the chips were excellent! only slightly left off was the pizza that had a little heavy base for our lust. beautiful clean toilets and covid safe with lots of space between tables. staff efficient and friendly! would definitely return and recommend everyone."

"The chef is brilliant here. My son has a restricted diet and they bent over backwards to accommodate us. I had the tempura squid which was melt in the mouth, everyone knows how difficult squid is to cook and this was top notch. The main course was a tuna steak salad, nicely cooked with an oriental twist to the salad. My companions were equally impressed they had the mussels which were so fresh they still smelled of the sea, and the pan fried sea bass I am told was absolutely delicious. I didn’t take pictures I was too busy enjoying! Check it out!"

"We visited on a Sunday lunchtime in early August to celebrate a couple of birthdays. We had booked and were offered a table inside the restaurant (pub? which was all but empty while it was a nice day outside. We asked if we could be seated outside to be able to enjoy the weather and to watch the world go by. We were told very rudely If there 's a table out there then you can eat out there, but you can 't run a tab and you have to order at the bar . We did as we were told, trying to make light of the rudeness. To be fair, it was only one of the staff who had this unfortunate attitude. We ordered drinks at the bar and then our food There 's a 30 minute wait the rude server told us. Dressed Crab, Mussels, and a fish and chips. Turned out there were no mussels left, so we ordered another fish and chips. The food, when it arrive (not as long as 30 minutes was ok, but only ok. My mother 's fish and chips was overdone and dry. Mine was less well cooked, but still rather bland and fish was dry. The whole experience was rather disappointing. We cut our losses and left to eat an ice cream elsewhere. It would hurt any of the staff to crack a smile and perhaps a lesson in manners and customer service wouldn 't go amiss."

"I have just got back from an unfortunately VERY disappointing meal here today. I was recommended this place by a friend who said the food was great, and as it is so local to me we thought we would try. However, we went in and first off the only menu was a Sunday one which just offered various meats with standard roast accompaniments, no matter o chose a steak as it said it came with chips and onion rings. My first mistake. Secondly we ordered some bread and olive oil and balsamic dip. And a lamb shank. It took 53 minutes for the kitchen to send out our order and we didn’t even get the bread and olive oil to pick on. We had to ask a very rushed looking waitress how long table 59 would be, and could we at least have our bread and dip. She went in and came out another 5 minutes later with two plates one with bread and oil and another with some kind of pate on it. I said straight away we hadn’t ordered it so she took it away and then reappeared 5 minutes later carrying the same plate and saying that we had in fact paid for it so it was ours. No refund or apology was offered so I graciously said ok, we will try it. It was AWFUL, really warm pate and the bread was dry. Awful. Now onto the mains; My steak turned up with peas which I did not order. It was also bland and unseasoned and was brought dry with no sauce options or anything. I ate a few mouthfuls and ate 5 chips and I honestly couldn’t eat anymore as it was just tasteless and chewy. The lamb shank was ok, the gravy with it had no flavour at all and there was no salt or pepper offered or on the table at all . We waited another 35 mins and no one came over to check or ask us if everything was ok. In the end. We got so fed up we left. I am incredibly disappointed, I never moan or put up reviews but I actually feel seriously unhappy that a meal for two cost me £65 in a mediocre setting and was flavourless. That combined with being charged for a starter neither of us would ever order in a million years and the fact we had to clear our own table and dust ash off of it gave me an experience I’m massively unhappy about. For a restaurant with apparent 4 stars online it was mediocre at best. And that is only because the lamb shank and a few mushrooms on my plate were edible and I was hungry! I really would like to hear back from someone, and for you to morally do the right thing and have my ‘unordered’ starter refunded back to me at some point. I have no issue in returning in the future however I would like some assurance that the whole experience will be far better and that all the issues here are addressed to give me an incentive to come back again."

"First time in Dublin but went back twice for dinner! First was a rib eye which was juicy and tender and accompanied by its crispy potato gratin, which was enjoyed to fullest. Went back second time and had their lamb shepherd's pie, which was simply awesome! Recommended for tthose who doesn't eat lamb cuz lamb taste is minimum. Cocktails tasted great. Tried their Sussex G&T, whiskey sour and aperol spritz!"

"Our second time at the Wellington Inn! Last time we were there was for my Aunties birthday which was absolutely spectacular and great rooms to stay over. This time we went for a meal in the bar, which is dog friendly. Views there are amazing and the waiting staff are great! Food was pub standard and the puddings were our favourite part of the meal. Great environment overall for a family meal :"

"Well... what a disappointment. After months of Facebook posts we finally made the trip to the fishmarket. Unfortunately the fish hasn't seen a market in quite some time. Both of our meals and the muscles tasted like seawater. If you are looking for an actual fish restaurant, this isn't the place for you. However, they are still some tasty fish and chips in very nice surroundings and the staff are fantastic. The extra large glasses of wine are great! Dont think we will be going again.... especially as the girlfriend will probable be on the loo all night after the muscles."

"my frau cheryl and I came for something to eat on this beautiful bank holiday on Sunday. we both had the vegan roast and my wife said it was “mind blow”. all from the rosmarin roasts to the wellington that they can literally not get for a vegan in clapham anymore. I myself found myself in speechless wise, as it was so amazing to eat. would definitely come back as we would expect our baby lily very soon and would like to return as a family. would like to see a children's menu!"
