"Seriously disappointed!! We used to go to Steak Co almost every week. God! We went to the rebranded one “steak and company”. A total disaster this place has turned out to be now. The food isn’t the same anymore, the whole menu is changed and even the few ones they still do like the broccoli isn’t the same, the peppercorn sauce isn’t good at all. The staff and service were amazing. I will never go back to this restaurant ever again nor recommend it to anyone. Oh and it’s so overpriced now."

"Located in the middle of West End Lane, (not literally, geographically! , is this gem of a pub. In the evenings or when the sun is out this is one of the best places you can be. The decor is upscale; it is rustic and very tastefully decorated. There is a terrace at the front and a split level fully decked back garden, which is perfect for a few drinks in the sun. I live locally and go here often as they have a great selection of beer and a really chilled and relaxing atmosphere. Service is quick and friendly and they even remember your preferences if you come here often enough! In the summer they do a barbeque in the back garden which is delicious and recommended if you go with a few friends. I have eaten here only once and as it's an upscale gastro pub it wasn't cheap; I had an Angus rib-eye steak, hand cut chips with pink peppercorn sauce, which came to nearly £20 alone. It did taste great though and was thoroughly enjoyed. The only thing I can criticise this place for is that if you come here and the place is busy but the restaurant area is completely dead, they still won't let you use a table unless you're eating there, which is quite silly. If you're in the area and need a nice place for a drink then stop by The Black Lion."

"The positives, lovely venue, happy staff and availability to book at short notice. On the flip side, we waited 25 minutes for food after being seated for our tea and the very polite waiter told me there would be other flavours of sandwiches on the stand after I told him I don't like salmon. When it arrived my mum ate the salmon sandwiches and I ate the cheese. No exception to my request! The scones were hands down amazing! The chef's cakes were average and we left them after tasting them, I looked at the other tables and they'd done the same. Overall, a special venue but feels too big for the amount of customers that were actually in on the day it felt empty with not much atmosphere."

"We stumbled upon The Angel by chance, and we were so impressed that we've returned many times since. Since you can't make reservations in advance, I've found that arriving early or with some extra time before your meal is a good strategy. The warm and inviting atmosphere hits you as soon as you walk in, which is probably why we came back after our first visit. The menu offers such a wide variety of options that it can be challenging to decide what to order this time and what to save for our next visit! So far, I've been completely satisfied with the food, and I hope that continues for a long time."

"The Percy Arms offers delicious and satisfying food at a great value. We have visited this restaurant multiple times and have always been impressed by the quality of food, service, and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, as one would expect in Northumberland. The only downside was the high price of the desserts, at £8 each. "The Chequers is a firm favourite of mine having visited over 20 times when in the Peak District. Food and service and customer care are exemplary. This visit I took three female friends who all loved it and took details so they can go and stay. A vegetarian said the vegetarian Wellington was the best meal she had enjoyed out in a long time. The roast beef Sunday lunch was magnificent. We enjoyed a drink in the lovely beer garden before lunch and took in the view and woodland bluebells.
