"We spent £100 per room for our stay at this restaurant. Upon arrival, there was no staff to be found anywhere. We tried calling the number provided, but it was rejected three times. Even after texting, nobody showed up. We left and returned hours later, only to be shown to a very basic room. The bathroom was in poor condition with yellow stains around the taps, plug hole, and shower screen. The pillows were uncomfortable and gave us all headaches in the morning. The hotel was noisy both inside and outside. The food was overpriced, with fish and chips costing £13 and giving me a stomachache due to greasiness. We definitely would not choose to stay here again, even if it were free."

Went there with my wife and kids last week for our Sunday lunch. Really enjoyed our meals; service was also very good, friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back soon.

The restaurant did not take action when drunken young men were causing a disturbance by throwing glass and getting into fights. This lack of intervention left customers feeling fearful.

We had a big family gathering here at Cefn for my sister’s birthday. We were impressed by the quality of food and presentation. I had lamb and it was very tender and juicy. We are planning on coming here again soon. View menu

This was our 3rd visit in recent months. Staff very friendly and helpful, happy to adjust dishes to allow for dietary requirements (gluten free). Excellent value, tasty fresh food good size portions. Other half is particularly taken with the belly pork

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent trip to the Cefn Mably Hotel for Sunday lunch. They have a good two or three course Sunday menu (I had the beef followed by cheesecake and both were delicious). Great quality food and very friendly staff, looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent food, cooked with great care and pride. Food locally sourced and freshly cooked not like too many pub restaurants. Sunday lunch is excellent but if you are able, the friday and saturday lunch menu is similar to the main menu, but slightly smaller portions, for €9.99 for 2 courses. Highly recommended. View menu

I made a reservation at this restaurant after seeing the menu on TripAdvisor, but was disappointed to find that the actual menu was much more basic than what was displayed. Despite this, we decided to dine there due to the quiet atmosphere and our hunger. The food was decent, but the male server lacked charisma.

My partner and I went out for a meal for the first time since before lockdown I can honestly say this was the worst meal we’ve ever had out together! We where seated next to the toilet and door to smoking area so we constantly had wind leaves ad the toilet smells the food was burnt the waitress was hovering after 5 mins to clear the table, when we’d finished mains we went for a cigarette when we got back to order desert someone else was seated in our seats so we went to sit at the bar only to be moved to 2 bar stools in the corner so 2 women could sit there, the head barmaid shortchanged me by £4 on 2 drinks so we left

"I raved about this place in my last review but since then it appears to have changed. Firstly, I cant remember the chairs being so uncomfortable that they had 'scatter ' cushions for you to use if you needed to. Having had back surgery, they made it even worse for me, so did without them in the most uncomfortable chair ever. Now, to the main part of the review. The lovely cakes that I had raved about had disappeared to be replaced by a sorry looking load of bog standard cake. The poor girl who served us was nervous as it was her first day, we ordered pecan pie which came with cream, we asked if its pouring or thick, she had to ask, it was pouring so we asked if we could have ice cream instead, she had to ask. Anyway, we finally ordered our cake and coffee. When she brought the coffee, she spilled half of mine in the saucer and then asked if I wanted a different saucer....duh! she took the offending saucer and the spoon brought a saucer back, no extra serviette to wipe the bottom of the cup and NO SPOON! We were then served the cake and ice cream, which to be fair, was nice, until, halfway through I saw a hair on my friends plate, (she was not wearing her glasses). We knew instantly that it was not either of ours, I have shoulder length hair and her hair was in a bun! We called the poor young lady over and pointed it out, she asked if my friend wanted to change it...duh! Of course she did, she brought another and thankfully my friend shared it with me! The coffee was (flat white) was nice but after that catalogue of events I wont be going back. They do offer a range of snacks/lunches and people did seem to be enjoying them."
