"We had to cancel our major holiday so decided to stay in a couple of lovely hotels in the UK and booked this hotel but have been so disappointed, especially the food on offer. One our first night, we went in full of anticipation and very hungry after a six hour drive from the Wirral. The whole meal was the worst one we have ever eaten. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy but we had to wait a long while for the food to arrive. My asparagus and wild garlic soup was ghastly. It was vibrant green but was overpowered by the garlic and was watery , with no substance, so I sent it right back. I had requested the skate wing in advance as I overheard someone saying there was only one portion left. I wish I hadn’t bothered. It came with a huge pile on cold seaweed , :3 barely cooked halves of potatoes, no leeks and the few buttered shrimps were not buttered. This fish was grey and overcooked and after 2 mouthfuls, I sent it back. My husband’s ‘ torched’ mackerel was cold, overcooked and tasteless and the accompanying vegetables had no dressing at all. He ordered the pork which was a 4 cm round and had to saw through it as it was so tough. Also there were only a few drops of ‘jus’. The restaurant manager was very apologetic and said she would report it back. I went to bed hungry and unhappy. , which was a shame on our anniversary. The breakfast was ok but the sausages were well overcooked and tough and we specified soft fried eggs but they were solid. The adorable Kas apologised and promised soft ones next time. We played safe last night and ordered Theo chicken pies in advance but when they came , one was beef and the poor Manager couldn’t believe it but we ate them as they take 30 minutes to cook. They were very tasty but the gravy was a beef one.!! Surely it’s easy to prepare some chicken gravy. The desserts were nice. We spoke to several other guests who all said they were disappointed in the food. I did speak to James, who’ll is the Manager who told me he had read the report from the dining room. On leaving I was told there was a £5 supplement and £31 for the wine. I would definitely not eat there again. The nicest thing about the restaurant was Kas’s lovely smile and excellent service."

"Looking at the Main Menu Specials Menu, I honestly couldn 't choose what I wanted. Everything sounded so good especially the Black Pudding Dauphinoise which accompanied some of the dishes. In the end, I decided to order Scallops Razor Clams with Basil Pesto and Pea Shoots to start with and then Venison, Bubble Squeak, Green Beans, Asparagus, Sweet Potato Crisps a Juniper Jus for Main Course off of the Specials Menu with a side order of Black Pudding Dauphinoise (I couldn 't resist! . Gillian ordered Haggis and Coriander Spring Roll with Chilli Jam to start with and then Ginger Roast Duck Breast, Braised Red Cabbage, Spiced Apple Puree and Black Pudding Dauphinoise. Despite my ever growing love for Seafood, I 've never tried Razor Clams before so I honestly didn 't know what to expect. The scallops were plump and cooked just the way I liked them. The razor clams reminded me a little of squid. Of course, I have nothing to compare it to so I 'm not entirely sure they were supposed to remind me of squid... but they did. Both the scallops and razor clams were complimented with the warm basil pesto and pea shoot salad. MY friend Gillian 's Haggis and Coriander Spring Rolls were amazing. I know that 's a little cliche to say but trust me, if you 're ever in Aberdeen, get your butt down to Musa just to try these babies. Crispy spring roll on the outside, peppery haggis in the inside with a chilli jam on the side. I honestly couldn 't fault anything about this dish (from the bits I tried and I know neither could Gillian. We could have happily continued eating more of these until we could no longer move. That 's how good it was. After a short break it was time for our Main Courses. My venison was tender, pink had a lovely taste to it. It was a little rich but venison is a rather rich gamey meat. The sweet potato crisps were too sweet for my liking, but that 's just my personal preference. Bubble Squeak was an interesting additional to the dish. I can 't say I 've ever tried it along with Venison before, however, along with the Juniper Jus it was a combination that worked well. On a side note, it 's great to find a restaurant that knows how green beans and asparagus should be cooked. I 've been to many an awful restaurant that give me mashed up vegetables that should have been al dente. It 's rather refreshing! My specially requested side order of Black Pudding Dauphinoise was spectacular. You 'd think with the amount of Black Pudding we eat in Glasgow that someone would have invented this but I have yet to see this on the menu anywhere in Glasgow. Soft, Creamy Potatoes layered with Black Pudding. Heaven in your mouth. Even though I was pretty full, I couldn 't stop eating this. Someone has to bring this wonderfulness to Glasgow. STAT! Gillian 's Duck was delicious. Pink and tender, it melted in your mouth. I 'm not a fan of fatty duck so was glad to see that there was no fat around. The spiced apple puree gave a nice sweetness to the meat and of course, helped give some added flavour to the black pudding dauphinoise which is my new favourite thing. I never tried the red cabbage because quite frankly, cabbage is on my list of must never eat again vegetables . Gillian did say she really liked it, so I 'll take her word for that! To be honest, if I had to order a main course all over again, I 'd go with the duck over the venison. Don 't get my wrong, I did really enjoy my venison but the duck had more of a wow factor when I tried it. We were both of the verge of bursting we were so full but you can 't go out for dinner without having dessert can you? I 'm sure there is some law against it. No? Well I 'm starting that rule from now, especially when sticky toffee pudding is on the menu. Oh yes. Gillian I decided to share dessert because I honestly doubt we could eat a full one to ourselves. The sticky toffee pudding was light and fluffy with the perfect amount of toffee sauce smothered all over it. Unfortunately, I didn 't like the drambuie ice cream as it was too strong for me. Gillian on the other hand loved it and ate it all. Looking back, I 'm pretty sure we didn 't need dessert but we were greedy and it tasted so so good. It is a little expensive but in fairness, you 'd pay about the same for food in Glasgow which is not up to the same standard. Overall, I couldn 't fault the food or service at Musa and to me, that is worth every penny."

"Bad food. Loooong wait both for drinks and food. Waiter (owner I was told) got 2 meals wrong. Brought calamari fritti for my husband and I which he never ordered in his life and I can 't stand them as they are like rubber in the UK so would never have ordered that. Waiter insisted I did, not once but 3x! My husband actually asked for whitebait! My husband ordered calf 's liver as a main which is soft and succulent in France, Germany and Greec etc. It was thin and like shoe leather. It is supposed to go into a hot pan, then turned over after a few seconds and taken out of pan served. This is what it should be like "A classic of British cooking, Calf 's Liver is succulently tender and fine grained with a deliciously mild, sweet flavour. More and more people are discovering the delicious flavour of Calf 's Liver due to its place on the menus.« I took it home to give to the dog and foxes!! My friend next to me (we were 13) ordered meatballs which were so salty she couldn 't eat them. Another lady didn 't like how the fish was done. It was mediocre. MY mussels had anorexia. I have photos. They were non existent or if there was one in the shell, it didn 't measure more than 5mm. 20 were empty and the sauce was not nice. Obvs they were not fresh mussels, they were cooked already and just heated up. Lots and lots of small broken shells in the sauce. Must have been the last dregs. Just as well I didn 't swallow one of the shards. Will I go back? No, I 'll go to a real Italian restaurant next time. Bragging about an Italian chef! He needs to go on a cookery course IN ITALY! I lived, ate and cooked there. I know what Italian food is supposed to taste like!!!!! And sooo expensive."

"My boyfriend and I went to Chapters for dinner to celebrate his birthday as Chapters was, we thought, the only decent restaurant left in Blackheath. All the others seem to be sliding downhill rapidly. We have been to Chapters many times in the past and the food and service has been good We did not have a starter and ordered a main meal only (black bream and pork belly) as we weren't hugely hungry due to eating a lot of birthday cakes earlier! We had a glass of wine and were offered a piece a of bread. minutes later we were still waiting for our food. In that time no one came to ask if we were OK or to offer us more drinks. I asked the manager when our food might be ready. He said it would be minutes without offering any explanation of the delay then disappeared minutes later there was still no sign of the food or the manager. Therefore, we decided to leave as we had completely lost any interest in eating there anymore. We got up to leave and the manager came over. He told us the delay was due to a big party downstairs. This was not the case, there was a group of people who had long finished their meal. We have been there before when it was much busier and the service was not this bad. While were waiting we saw a customer who had finished their meal slipping into the managers hand as he was leaving. Maybe the staff require bribery to give good service It such a shame yet another Blackheath restaurant has become complacent and thinks they can get away with treating their customers without any respect. I for one will be voting with my feet and will not be eating in this restaurant again. I will also be letting everyone I know not to go there"
