"A 5 minute walk from Old Street Tube station, this place is easy to miss. No big lights or imposing signs trying to attract your attention but instead signage and a front of house that simply blends in unassumingly with the surrounding area. Nice bar upstairs with plenty of seating and a relaxed and comfortable feel. The restaurant is downstairs and it has a wonderful homely feel to it. The staff are knowledge about both the food and drinks menu. We arrived late (we called to let them know) and even though there was a booking following us, they accommodated us and the food was promptly served and of course... tasty. I'm giving this place 3 stars as we only had mains (our fault for being late) but I'll be returning to sample all 3 courses and I'm expecting to give this little gem at least 4 stars "

Went for lunch with girlfriends and had a great experience We ordered the fried squid to share as a starter, and I ordered the Sunday roast for main.

Good dining with good material and good cooking. The basement floor is chic, and the cafe at the ground floor is casual. People are nice and friendly.

We had a party of 9 people dine at this restaurant today and we couldn't find a single fault! The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The roast dinner was possibly the best we've ever had, and the chocolate dessert was particularly delicious. View menu

Excellent service and food. Definitely recommend the sourdough bread for a starter. Staff were friendly, attentive and provided cards for the birthday people. If I returned I would have the steak as that looked amazing. It is expensive but you receive very high quality food.

One of the best places to have a Sunday roast in London- great location, cosy atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff and incredibly tasty food! If you are going on a Sunday, it would be best to book in advance as it is a popular place and it gets very busy. The menu also includes a wide variety of other meat dishes and desserts (if you don't want to go on a Sunday or if you want something else).

I recently had one of the best dining experiences in a while at this restaurant. The atmosphere was lively and the interior was beautiful, with some impressive artwork. Both my steak and my friend's vegetarian option were delicious. The mac and cheese was especially outstanding, and I think I will have to come back just for that. I highly recommend this place for a nice meal out with friends. Overall, it was a fantastic evening. View menu

I can’t rate this place highly enough! The location is superb, I was able to make requirements about my seating arrangements for my anxiety discreetly with zero problems, and the food is well worth the price, I couldn’t even finish it. The wine list was so varied and absolutely delicious, just perfect. It was also my birthday and the staff lovingly gave me a signed card! We were well tended to and the staff are so aware of how to look after people. This place is definitely going to be a regular for me. Thank you SO much!

My favourite secret place for a Sunday Roast in London. Perfectly cooked beef in the Josper grill with all the trimmings including vegetables and a delicious Yorkshire pudding. All the meat is supplied by the Ginger Pig butchers and the beef is from rare breed Longhorn cattle raised in Yorkshire and dry aged for a minimum of 28 days. Fantastic value at £9.95 for one course, £14.50 for two or £17.50 for three. You can also get different cuts of beef, lamb, chicken or a slow cooked oxtail burger cooked in the Josper charcoal oven. Restaurant is downstairs but you can also eat in the bar on the ground floor where they also have pop ups and great cocktails.
