"Worst things first: I think the service could have been a bit better as the waiters weren't so attentive. It was quite difficult to get their attention. Also I asked for lukewarm water as my wife was ill and we were still served chilled water. I asked for the bill to come with the card reader as we were in a rush and the bill still came alone and we had to ask for the card reader again. Other than this the ambience is really really nice. You get a nice view of Canary wharf and although the pillars block the view a bit, I guess those are required to hold the building up haha so it is what it is. Really nice view which every table can appreciate, beautiful interior design my wife referred to it as having a homely feel. I would definitely come back during the day as Im sure it would like marvellous with the sun coming through the full length windows how much better at sunset!! The food was exquisite too. I had eaten beforehand so didn't eat much: just squid rings and the bread selections. Its small but it goes a long way when restaurants heat up the butter so its soft and spreadable on nice warm and soft bread. The squid rings were good too, not too rubbery like many are these days. My wife had a bit more: the cod on mash with caviar (or just roe, not sure) and fries. The fries were so so nice, perfectly salted and fried. The cod and mash was DIVINEEE. Every bite that I stole from her was eye shut inducing. Perfectly cooked cod that tasted like it came from the sea that very morning, one of the creamiest mashed potatoes I've had in a while and then the caviar/roe to add a certain texture to the after taste. Superb. Excellent restaurant, would definitely recommend and not too bad a price as well considering the high class interior and prime location in Canary Wharf."

"so. for a kick-off, this place has many potentials and is a very attractive and beautifully positioned place, right at the main train of the fair mile at henley on thames. good. that said the experience of our meal was less than satisfactory. After we decided that we didn't want to start and have only preferred a main course, we were surprised that our food came out within 5 minutes after the order and was ploned before us. that's good, but what we were greeted by has given us the feeling that we were back. the 80s with a beefeater art of experience. my friends steak was floppy and looked like something from tesco for 3 pfund and her veg was overcooked and black. with young, trunk broccoli, they only need to blanche for 2-3 minutes, as they wipe very quickly. on my head. this was 4 crevettes, deep fryed with a dressing that was good; no problems there at all and a lacking 1970 style prawn cocktail with super market marie the rosesoße pressed about what had been frozen on the bed of the shrunk iceberg salad. the chips, were stacked on the side and were dry and bleeding to be honest. no taste, and they were probably too long in the many remaining ofenchips. When I came back from the gents, I found my friend who knows the very polite and young waitress that eating was not good at all. that said the ingredients were good, it was how they were cooked and presented. pretty awful. each cook worth weight white how to cook a good steak and present young veg without being floppy and crowned. then we saw the young waitress who left the owner who then went to empty us. I guess she was upset that we had complained. I understand, but this is not professional and shows a significant lack of customer service as home personnel. the barman was polite and we paid quickly. we couldn't get out fast enough."

"We had one of the most delicious dining experiences we have ever enjoyed. The chef, Charles Smith, is truly a cuisine genius. Everyone of the courses in the tasting menu was a trbute to his creativity and subtle mixture of ingredients. We could not believe his sophistication at the age of 29 and we wish him a wonderful future career. Separately I’d like to address the initial welcome and bar experience which was not pleasant. When you enter the front door there is no apparent reception area; there is no one to greet or guide you. No one asked for our name or what kind of dinner reservation we had made. We stumbled around a few narrow hallways guided by sounds of conversation until we found the bar. The solo bartender was harried and overwhelmed and bar seating area completely filled. We were told to walk down the hall to another lounge where we enjoyed our cocktails. This was shared with another couple who were dressed in sloppy jeans and tshirts while we were attired in jackets for the men and dresses for the ladies. This initial lack of welcome and hospitality typified both times we have eaten at LOM in 2017 and 2019. We would recommend that the 2 different dining experiences be separated physically from the beginning of the evening starting with the greeting, bar drinks, and continuing through dinner. The disconnect in hospitality and service should be easily addressed and improved."
