"By far one of the best fish and chips I have been to. Excellent food and excellent service. The fish was cooked perfectly with freshly cut chips served as a hugely sized portion. The atmosphere was traditional yet with a modern twist, extremely clean compared to the usual greasy looking fish and chips shops I always come across. Will definitely be visiting again soon!"

"This is a rather unassuming Hilton Hotel with an even more unassuming Axis Bar and Restaurant. When we got here it just looked like a very small lobby area with food! It did not stand out as a Hilton. However, I cannot complain about the service or the food. Both were exceptional. The food was freshly prepared and very flavoursome. The best thing was that the portions are just the right size. Not too big! The bread that came out was lovely and warm, the salads fresh. My pasta dish tasted like fresh pasta. They had a good choice of wines though no sommelier. I’m not surprised it’s not as posh as other Hiltons...it’s rather tucked away in Angel. There did not appear to be too many people staying here and the restaurant was quite empty for a Saturday night in the beginning on Summer. It just meant that the place lacked a bit of atmosphere and buzz. But to be honest, my partner and I were happy to have a quiet meal in a calm place! London is always too crowded so this is a good quiet place to be. We loved the food. Beware of the steak and shoulder of lamb as they both have a £9 supplement. But on the whole a great evening. Would come again. Great service from Hakan and Felicity."

"This is the second time we have eaten here in the past few weeks and on both occasions the food has been fantastic. Had a lovely Sunday roast a couple of weeks ago with family and friends and found the food to be fantastic in particular the beef which was to die for. The past weekend visited on the Saturday evening and had the fish and chips which again was very good indeed. Cod portion was big with lovely crispy batter and the chips were amazing. Local singer Andy Lawrence was playing in the bar area and made for a very enjoyable evening. Will for sure be visiting again very soon"

"Felt I needed to review based on the delivery service today. I ordered through Uber Eats and wondered how pie, mash gravy could get to me and be as good as I’d have in the restaurant. It said 35-40 mins to deliver- I live in the Windmill Hill area and it took less than half an hour from when I pressed the submit button (this was a weekday lunchtime)! The pie and mash comes packed in a box and the gravy in its own pot- double wrapped to keep it hot. By the time I’d dished it up and settled down, the meal was still too hot to eat! The pie and mash itself was great. For that value and delivery service (I know it’s Uber Eats but they did all the hard work) I’ll definitely be ordering again."

"I'm a huge fan of Sri lankan cuisine so very happy to have one in the local neighbourhood which really is authentic but has a high end feel. We visited yesterday and Xmas decorations were up, making it a cosy bur still ethnic vibe. The little rickshaw at the front with lights is a lovely touch. Service was great and I'd actually urge more customers to I saw just ordering things they are used to ordering like poppadoms thinking it's an Indian restaurant, when there'd a wonderful selection of short eats the staff happily will talk you through My top picks for starters and short eats are the Mutton rolls (you get 2...don't share! Ha! , the fish cutlets (though be warned they are spicy , the prawns and the Squid! My top picks for mains are the the mild prawn curry, the jaffna Mutton curry, and although a little messy, the crab curry is just top notch! Best eaten with parathas and savour rice! Will definitely be visiting again for my Sri lankan food fix soon."

"We decided to enjoy a nice breakfast this morning and opted for dinner later in the evening. I had dined here before and had a pleasant experience, but this time was quite different. We waited an hour for our food, while other tables, who had sat down at the same time as us, were served and finished their meals before ours even arrived. To make matters worse, several items from our orders were missing without any explanation. My 5-year-old's pizza was still frozen in the middle. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. After such a long wait, most of us had lost our appetites. The food didn’t look appealing, and the oil used may have been old, which affected the taste. The staff mentioned that there were several complaints that night. Unless significant improvements are made, I don’t think I would choose to eat here again. However, we do enjoy the bar, entertainment, and the park as a whole."
